He met the girl of his dreams in high school, just before he turned 16. He, an alpha, had already had his first rut by this point and vividly recalled that his imagination appreciated putting a face and a name to the beauty that graced his fevered dreams. He never told her that he had dreamed of her before they got together, but eventually he might divulge that little bit of information. But now, he doesn't have to make do with his dreams any longer.
His girl was graduating soon, and his next rut was due to coincide with her graduation. Her heat was also expected around that time as well. They had promised each other, upon her graduation from high school, that they would bond. She didn't want to attend college in the fall, starting out the year with any alphas other than him, hitting on her. She made that abundantly clear to him. He had readily agreed and now here he was tidying up the bedroom in the small townhouse that his grandfather and the Hendrix's had arranged for them during this time. It was only a rental, but it would do for their privacy.
He had to wonder about the Hendrix family sometimes. They never formally adopted Jeannette, his gorgeous gal, but they had enveloped her into the fold of the family after her untimely and downright cruel forced presentation and heat as an omega. He didn't find this out until much later, but his former childhood friend, Audrey, was none other than The Hendrix's relative that had caused the mess. In fact, Jeannette's best friend in the whole world and pseudo adoptive sister, was his former childhood friend's half-niece. The Hendrix family felt partially responsible, so they had offered to take Jeannette in and teach her the ways of being an omega. Unlike him, her parents were betas and quite clueless as to how to help and educate her on her newfound secondary gender.
That was when she was at the tender age of 14 and barely starting her journey to womanhood. He had been 16 and thought himself quite grown and responsible, but still unaware of the world and blinded by his feelings. He could hardly believe that four years had passed since then and now she was 18 and he would be 20 in the fall. He was no longer foolish enough to think he was all grown up, but he was at least, more aware of his faults and his weaknesses and that lent him more an air of maturity than his younger self had thought of himself.
Jeannette was starting out in pre-med as part of her scholarship for people with the sigma gene. She and her best friend Vivi were both in the scholarship program together, but Vivi was already light years ahead of her, and had already been taking pre-med courses. She would be attending medical school soon if she kept absorbing the material as fast as she had been.
Looking around, he saw that the bedroom was tidy enough, but it was rather plain and boring. It had no art, nor any trace of his or Jeanie's scent like his room back at his grandfather's house. Jeanie had often come over to his place and hung out with him while he studied for his college courses. He thought of the piece of artwork that he had been working on for her graduation present. It was still unfinished, but to finish it, he would have to ask her to pose for him or use his imagination for the last bit of it.
He often found himself doodling her or sketching her face in his free time and this piece was going to be special and it was going to be his masterpiece. After all, it was a full body portrait of his muse. Except that this portrait was not meant for anyone's eyes except his and Jeanie's. It was also the only physical medium of his art that he had ever worked so hard on making. Not even in his art classes did he put this much effort into making something.
He preferred digital art as his medium of choice but that didn't mean that he couldn't work with charcoal or oils either. He would on occasion draw or paint them when the mood struck. He could also use the fine control of an airbrush when working on painting his favorite garage kits in his free time. He had an entire studio in his grandfather's house all to himself for his various art. Just like his musically gifted little sister had a music and recording studio for her art and the library was their older brother's preferred space before he had left home and married his college girlfriend.
His grandfather is a kind man and absolutely loved Jeanie from the second he had introduced her. He approved of her almost from the first day he met her. He didn't realize he had held his breath waiting or even wanting his grandfather's approval of her, but he had let it out all at once when his grandfather made it so clear he liked his girlfriend.
Deciding that the temporary space needed sprucing up to be more comfortable for him and Jeanie's bonding, he got to work and grabbed his sketchpad from his school bag that he had dropped off and started a new sketch. It was his favorite to draw; Jeanie's laughing face. He absolutely adored every part of her and had even protected her on more than one occasion to keep her by his side safe and sound. In fact, the day she presented as an omega, he had gotten into a knock-down fist-fight with Audrey's boyfriend who had been making unacceptable remarks about her and coming onto her strong even though she was only 14 and a freshman while he had been a grown ass-adult alpha who had been held back a year.
Needless to say, he had protected her. At first as a friend who was interested in her, but later as her alpha. She wanted him to be hers and often demanded to be scented. He loved her short little stance when she put her hands on her hips and looked up at him while demanding that he renew his scent mark upon her that he had been making do with until he could bond with her. She was so adorable when she got feisty and demanding, because it was only with him that she got that way. She was rather outgoing for an omega, but she still had some shy insecurities and introverted tendencies as well. He loved all parts of her, and he loved her dream and was very much in support of it.
In fact, he planned on letting her know that his support of her would include giving up his art for a time; while he worked on supporting them while she attended med school. Although Jeanie got a full ride scholarship, thanks in part to the Edevane family, she was also quite capable of doing the hard work to get in on her own merits as well. He loved that she took her studies for her goal seriously and honestly, he couldn't wait to see her brilliant self walk across the stage in her cap and gown to receive her diploma and honors right alongside their friend, Vivi who would also be graduating with her. The two of them were still very close and he supported that. Vivi and her family had become good friends with him and his other friends over the years and he was looking forward to the last of his friends Luxia and Kirby graduating too.
Jeannette was nervously pacing back and forth while waiting for her name to be called as she and her friends stood in line to await their diplomas. She couldn't help it. She was giddy and excited, but also nervous because after the after party, celebrating her graduation with her friends and family, she would be spending a good portion of the summer before entering college with Chad. She was planning on bonding with him as soon as possible, and to do that they needed to let their heat and rut come naturally.
She had turned 18 the month before but had wanted to wait until graduation to take that step with him. He, being the amazing and supportive boyfriend he was, readily listened to her request and talked with her about the pros and cons of waiting a little longer. Since her heat and his rut were due roughly next week, it lined up perfectly for them and so now she was ready, but still nervously excited and anxious about that step.
