"I'm sorry if I startled you," Eugene said, feeling uneasy around Isabelle.
"It's okay," Isabelle replied with a smile.
"What were you thinking that you didn't hear my call?" Eugene asked Isabelle.
"I was just thinking about someone trying to kill me, and I will look for them once I recover," Isabelle said, clenching her fist. But she was startled when Eugene held her hand and smiled at her.
"Don't worry, I will help you. If you don't mind, can you tell me why you fell into the ravine?" Eugene asked, curious about what had happened to Isabelle.
Isabelle looked up at the hospital room ceiling, then turned to Eugene and smiled.

Isabelle rushed out of Alex's parents' house and got into her car. She started her car and left Alex's parents' house.
