Chapter 4 - Chapter 2 CARTER

I bolted away at least I made a big failed mimic of bolting. She said, "There is no point in you running because I can just pull you back so I propose you cooperate." I tested if she was bluffing and ran off. She wasn't lying because seconds later, my feet got off the ground and I am pulled backward. She said, "Now do you believe me." The invisible force let me go and I fell to the ground. She said, "By the way, who left that gift back at your house." I mumbled an excuse. She said, "Relax, I am not from the government. I can keep your secret. Okay, let us get to the point. I know it was you and it proves that you are who I came here to get."

I realized that I had killed those people and worst of all my mother. She said, "Sorry about your mom but for the men, it is perfectly fine. They are mostri specifically pez." She spoke as if she had read my mind. I asked, "What do you mean mostri." She said, "Creatures that hunt and kill teens even children like you because of our origin." I said, "Hate our origin for what?" She said, "We're chaos. They're order."

I asked, "So they're the bad guys." She said, "There is no good and evil in war, Carter. You should know that." I asked, "What war?" She replied, "Chaos and order can't both exist so one needs the other dead. You probably think I am lying. Want proof? There you have it." She pulled her hands out and mimicked pulling something with them toward her. A dead soldier's body came floating toward us. She widened her fingers apart and the soldier's uniform ripped off to reveal a mutant. It had grey skin with a horrific mixture of a human and piranha face with dorsal fins exceeding to the broad octopus tentacles combined into two arms with four fingers. SubuhanaAllah, it had a horrible case of fish breathe.

She said, "Believe me now. I was assigned to bring you Paricius. Okay, so are you coming willingly or not." I said, "Of course not. I can't just trust a stranger." She said, "Suit yourself." She put her hand in her pocket and threw some purple powder from there onto my face. My head felt dizzier. I collapsed. Is this how sleeping beauty felt when she pierced her finger?

I awoke in a canoe in the middle of the ocean. The sun was rising with its golden light immersing me in warmth. I looked around and I was alone. My abductor had abandoned me. Where was I going to go? I got the paddles hoping my instincts would lead me somewhere but nothing. I did though get a complimentary mysterious voice in my mind that told me to push in a specific direction. Well, I had no better plan. I hope whatever is the source of the voice has my best interests in mind. Probably, not. I paddled the waves for what felt like ages until I reached a big island.

I had never felt so happy to touch the ground. The mysterious voice told me to continue into the deep vegetation of the island. All around me were trees that grew tall to compete for sunlight. They all had buttress roots that had green lichen on them. I pushed through small bushes until I reached a waterfall. The mysterious voice in my mind told me to continue through the waterfall. It got me here so might as well trust it. I went through as the rapid water hit my face washing off all my dirt.

I found a cave. It continued walking and soon found a pale whitish-blue wall. I observed closely and discovered that it was no mineral but water. The mysterious voice told me to continue forward but I refused. This was getting too sketchy. This mysterious voice in my mind was not normal. It didn't feel like it was taking me to heaven on earth more like it was leading me to my doom. I tried my best to turn around and run but my body denied my command. The mysterious voice compelled it to continue forward but I didn't let it.

Tentacles of water grabbed my limbs. I tried to free myself but I could sense my efforts were futile. They pulled me into the water wall and dragged me through a tunnel of water at high pressure. They pushed me out of the other side of the tunnel. I was now in an arena half full of people all wearing long cloaks of different colors.

The normal commentator's room was now unroofed and had a lady in there. She had rich tanned skin with amber eyes and blonde hair in a bun. She wore a golden long dress that had a brown branch-like design that separated into many with daises popping out of them. She was in her late 40s. She levitated and descended towards me. In mid-air, she said, "Today we receive a new Parian joining our community. He is yet to be classified among the 4 main breeds of chaos–pudeky, luxis, warrith, and tenebris.

It is noted that he needs to be in a group. Remember that no group is allowed to participate in the trials without more than 3 members in it. This could be a chance to get a member without putting in the work to convince a person to join. The group that wants to take him in can rise their hand now or he'd be assigned a random one." The arena remained silent until a hand went up. The blonde woman smiled and said, "The Ganda Group has volunteered. Now, this island has brought up bright hybrids for generations. I can't wait to see what this generation will have to offer during the Trials of Luna." She blasted away. The cloaked people all walked out of the arena.

Two girls and a boy walked over to me. One was the redhead and the others were a tall chocolate brown-skinned brawny boy, who looked a few months older than me, with black hair and coffee brown eyes wearing a maroon red t-shirt that had a bear paw stenciled in it, sneakers and black sweatpants, and a medium-height girl, who looked 16, with deeply tanned skin, long blonde curly hair that followed like waves and golden eyes. She wore an orange T-shirt a blue skirt that reached below her knees and sneakers.

The redhead said, "We meet again. I hope you comply this time." The tall boy said, "Mocking him already. Don't want to chase him away yet he just got here. Welcome to Paricius. My name is Darius Bearclaw. I think Ella has already told you what this place is. I am the leader of the Ganda group." I said, "So this is real and not a figure of my imagination?" He said, "Of course it is." He said, "I am a warrith. Ella is a pudeky" He pointed at Ella. He continued, "and she is a luxis welcomed you." He pointed at the blonde girl. The blonde girl said, "My name is Ephiria Daybreak, a luxis, just like Calisto, the woman who just addressed the arena. Nice to meet you. I will be directing you to the Registration Centre."

I asked, "What Centre?" Ella said, "You will soon find out. I, on the other hand have to go handle another assignment so see you later." She dashed off. Darius said, "I will be training. So I will meet you likely after the registration." He also dashed off. Now I was left with a stranger in the middle of a place I didn't know, without anything whatsoever that I could use to call for help. I don't see how this is could go wrong.
