Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: I don't think I'll ever get used to this side of him

Everything went by so fast that Ivy didn't really know how she ended up in the famous Damian's house- her role model.

There were so many things that she wanted to learn from him and always thought of him as kind and thoughtful but after all that had happened, she couldn't believe he was so brutal and cruel. But of course, he wouldn't have survived in society if he wasn't brutal.

'That's why they say, never meet your heroes.'

Ivy gave out a long sigh as she sat by the window of the room she was given, staring at the moon. It had a crescent shape, one that she would love to touch.

She got up and moved to the balcony, there she stretched her hands, imagining the moon would come to her reach but failed, her hopes went down and she lowered her head slowly.

"All's well and ends well." She rested her arms in the bars of the balcony and sighed again as the cool night breeze soothed her spirit. "Why do I get this familiar feeling, like I've been here before, or something like that?" She asked herself and then straightened herself. "No, it's my first time here. It must be the warm reception they gave me. They're so nice." She concluded with a smile but didn't feel all satisfied about her situation.

Damian was supposed to be at the gathering at the city hall but he came back to get something. He got out of his car and noticed Ivy standing at the balcony. It used to be Flora's room and Flora would always stand at the balcony at night too which made him restless.

"What is this girl thinking about at this time?" He asked no one in particular. "Isn't she cold?" He walked in and was welcomed by Nanny Feng.

"Forgot something?" Nanny Feng asked in the company of May.

"Yeah, I'll just grab it and get back on the road." He said.

"How're things there? Any sign of trouble?" May asked.

"Not yet, but we still have our guards up." He answered.

"That's good to hear." Nanny Feng said and Damian stopped in his tracks.

He felt concerned and Nanny Feng could see it written all over his face. It was an expression she hardly saw on him and knew the cause of it.

"You're worried about the girl?" Nanny Feng asked.

"She's at the balcony. It's cold outside, get her in." He instructed and went ahead to get what he came for and left.

"He cares deeply for her." Nanny Feng said. "I'll get her in." She said and left May to wonder.

Nanny Feng went to Ivy's room but Ivy was too lost in thoughts to realize her presence.

"Ivy." Nanny Feng called at the doors of the balcony and she turned.

"Oh! Nanny Feng. Sorry I didn't see you there." She said.

"It's okay but why do you stand out alone in the cold night." Nanny Feng asked but she just shook her head with the thought that she wouldn't understand.

"It's nothing." Ivy said. "I'm just finding it difficult to accept reality at the moment, it's unbelievable." She sighed.

"I understand. It wasn't all that easy for these girls when they newly got here either. They were always scared of messing up in front of Damian and his arrogant and cruel attitude towards them would send chills down their spines." Nanny Feng laughed at her own words.

"Well in my case, I'm scared of him, I'm just... shocked." She looked aside.

"Why is that?" Nanny Feng asked, curious.

"Well, whenever I saw him on TV, maybe in a conference or acting as a patreon to the orphanage or the times when he newly established an industry, he looked very calm and gentle but... " She shook her head in disbelief.

"Not to worry, it's all going to be alright. You'll get used to him." Nanny Feng assured.

"I don't think I will. The mental sense I have of him might be too difficult to change. I used to take him as my role model in the business circle but now," she shook her head, "...he feels like a completely different person."

"You seem to adore him alot." Nanny Feng said, quite amused.

"I do. It's like I have a connection with him but I always thought of it as the knowledge of him as the CEO." Ivy admitted.

'Looks like she still had that connection, that's to say she really is Flora.' Nanny Feng thought and a smile beamed on her face. "It happens. You just need to try and cope with it all." She comforted her. "Now, come inside. You might catch the flu if you stay out too long."

They both walked in.

"Thank you, Nanny Feng." She appreciated as Nanny Feng closed the doors to the balcony and Ivy laid on her bed. Nanny Feng took it upon herself to cover her with the blanket.

"Do you feel cozy?" Nanny Feng asked and Ivy nodded with a warm smile. "Goodnight, dearie."

"Goodnight." She responded then Nanny Feng put off the lights and left her room, closing the door slowly and silently.
