Better than an enraged individual destroying everything in my path to fulfill my revenge. I don't want to become that kind of person, and I don't want that for you either."
Ruith turned his body forward and sat back on his hands. He sighed. "I wish it had not been you I targeted. I regret it. Hurting you was a mistake, and if I could take back the trauma and pain I delivered to you, I would." Slowly, he turned his face to me, his eyes hot and molten with anger. "But there is someone worthy of that punishment. And someday, I hope to deliver it to the right person."
