Chereads / Alpha's Hot Human Mate / Chapter 14 - Her mate

Chapter 14 - Her mate

At 8:45 PM.

Diamond tried freeing herself from the iron chains that were used to tie her up around a tree, but they were too strong for her. The more she struggled with the chains, the more it cut through her flesh. The chains were sharper and thicker than the ones she knows, making her wonder what kind of chains they were.

"I regret ever leaving home to follow Xander.... but what if he doesn't have a hand in this? What if he also fell a victim since we both slept in the room together. Even though he really has a hand in this why hasn't he showed his face? Where the hell are you Xander?" Diamond cried out in pains.

"My life is so much of a mess right now. I am not only far away from home or alone, I am also in a big mess. I am going to die in less than thirty minutes and I can't even save myself. In all my life, I have never thought of dying at a very young age, but it's happening now. Oh God!" She sobbed.

Just then, two guards walked out of the palace building through the back door and walked straight to her. They took the chains off her and forcefully led her into the building.

In Xander's room.

Dario took off the gloves on his hands when he was done cleaning Xander up and looked up at Yandel and Lizeth.

"I don't see him getting any better, he hasn't even gotten to the edge of coming back to life." Dario said.

"Does that mean that we don't have any hope?" Yandel asked. It was almost as though he didn't care about Xander's health, but deep down, he was so pained.

Xander is Yandel's closest buddy. They have been friends from birth, plus there were born on same day, and almost the same time- Yandel was born fifteen minutes before Xander.

Ever since they grew up with each other, they have always looked out for themselves, never taking their eyes off each other.

Yandel was so pained that his best friend was dying, or rather was dead, yet he couldn't do anything about it. He really wondered what his life will be after now. Who will he play and joke with as much as he did with Xander? Who will he go on scary and dreaded battles with? Who will always be there for him and encourage him?- like always, emphasis on the always. Who will he fight with that will still agree to be his best friend? It really doesn't look like it now, but he is doomed!

"Which do you want, the truth, or the sugar coated truth?" Dario asked.

"The sugar coated one." Lizeth said.

Lizeth might look tough, harsh and all that, but she is just a normal werewolf with a weak and fragile heart. She just always put a tough appearance on to cover up her weaknesses. Only her brother, Yandel knows about this, and she plans on leaving it that way.

She collapsing the moment Yandel told her that Xander was dead wasn't to show off how much she loves Xander, even though she really do like him genuinely. It was just because she couldn't take the news when Yandel broke it to her, even when he tried so much not to make it shocking.

After all, there is still a truth in the sugar coated truth.

"Well he is probably gonna come back to life after series of rituals that might take a really long time. The chances are slim."Dario said.

"What's the truth?" Yandel asked.

He is the kind that likes being told things the exact way they are.

"The truth is that he is gone and can never come back to live again." Dario said and Lizeth moved backwards unsteadily, almost losing her balance. She placed her hand on her chest as her breathing became suddenly uneven, as though it would stop her from having an heart attack.

"I have to leave now. I don't have anymore work her anymore, the witch does." Dario said as he picked up his bag.

Yandel nodded simply, and Dario walked out of the room.

"It's okay Lizeth." Yandel said to Lizeth who was almost tearing up as he pulled her closer to himself.

"It's not safe for you to be in here, you will go stay in your room for now, while I have someone send for the witch." Yandel said as they both walked out of the room, leaving Xander's lifeless body on the bed.

Inside the dark room.

Diamond was tied around an iron pole, with a thick black sack hung over her head, covering her face. She would have cared less about the sack and much about her fate, but she hates darkness and the sack is making it quite difficult for her to see anything. It was as though she had gone blind completely. Her mouth was tied too, so she can't even shout or mumble anything at least- she was stuck!

Now she is faced with a shocking reality. She has been captured and held hostage in a palace, about to be slaughtered like a common criminal.

"Nine PM." Draven said with a smirk, looking at his wrist watch.

"Take her head off." He gave his orders with a stern look.

Lizeth was heading to her room with an heavy heart when Aziel and Arya rushed pass her like a flash and went straight into the dark room.

"Aziel and the royal adviser? The dark room? What are they both doing in the dark room?" She thought.

She took few steps backwards and stood beside the dark room door that was not properly closed, peeping through the small hole. The room wasn't completely dark, it just lacked the adequate light it needed for a time like this because it has no window.

She has never for once had a reason to enter into the room before because it is only the punished and the executors that is allowed into the room.

The dark room- she has always thought it was a really dark room that was why it was given the name dark room, until Yandel explained to her that that wasn't the real reason behind the name. According to him, he said: *IT IS A ROOM THAT REEKS OF BLOOD, BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE ALL PEOPLE PROVEN GUILTY ARE BEING KILLED.*

The room really reeked of blood from where she stood. Not wanting to push it further because of how she hates the sight and the smell of blood, she decided to maintain her position and stand at the door.

Inside the room.

"Stop!" Aziel said sternly, and using his powers, he stretch his hand to the guard's blade that was already an inch close to Diamond's neck, making it fall off his hand.

"Stop? Who is that? Is it Xander? Has he come to finally safe me? But it doesn't sound like his voice, not at all. Maybe he has abandoned me." Diamond thought sadly, tears dropping from her closed eyes, but on the other hand, she was happy that someone came to safe her at least.

"Sir Aziel why would you tell him to stop? You realize that interrupting the execution process it a crime don't you?" Draven asked with a growl.

"Sir Aziel? Uhmmm....." Diamond thought.

"And you also realize that initiating an execution single handedly without letting me know is a crime, don't you?" Aziel asked back.

"And who are you that I am suppose to take permission from before doing anything?" Draven asked angrily.

"I am suppose to be aware of crucial matters like this as the royal adviser. Your late father always made me aware of his every moves."

"And I am not my late father."

"No one said that. I just want us to do things the appropriate way. We can't just kill her."

"Why not?"

"Because she might not be the only one." Aziel said and Draven saw some sense in what he said.

"Take off the sack and untie her mouth." Draven ordered and the guard did as he was instructed immediately.

Diamond breath out heavily immediately the guard untied the cloth that was covering her mouth.

"Young lady where are your accomplists?" Draven asked gazing straight into Diamond's eyes.

"Accomplists? I don't have any accomplist." Diamond said having no idea what he is talking about.

"Who else did you come with dummy?" He said hoarsely.

"No one." She said, frightened.

"How long have you been here?" Aziel asked.

"Four days?" She said, making it sound like a question, because she has the slightest idea what really he was asking for. She was so confused!

"Four days!" Aziel exclaimed. "Who have you been staying with for this four days?"

"Arya." Diamond said and Arya's heart gave a three loud thuds.

One thing is for sure; Arya is in for it.

******************

Inside the court room.

Draven and Aziel sat on different couches with some guards behind them, while Arya stood in front of them, her head bowed. Lizeth quietly stood beside the stairs watching the whole scene. Call it sadism, but she is really enjoying seeing Arya being punished.

"Arya you of all people should know that housing a human is a grievous crime that is punishable by death. What reason made you keep a human in your house for four days, thereby endangering the lives of everyone person in the park?" Aziel asked, not pleased at all.

"I am sorry." Arya mumbled out to their hearing.

"Can you seriously hear how stupid you sound right now?" Draven asked.

"Arya sorry isn't going to solve any of this. You have to face the consequences, it's the law." Aziel said.

"They aren't really gonna kill her, are they?" Lizeth thought. Irrespective of the fact that she so much dislikes Arya and wouldn't want to have anything at all to do with her, death isn't what she wishes for anyone, not even Arya.

"You know the law, the penalty of what you have done is death." Aziel said.

"For non werewolves." Arya spoke back.

"You are a witch."

"Also a werewolf."

"An Omega." He grunted.

"Still a werewolf." She retort.

"Arya you are a weak werewolf. You are no match for the punishment. The only option you have here besides dying is having a strong werewolf who is your mate serve the punishment for you." Aziel said and her heart dropped to her stomach.

"My mate? Which mate? Do I even have a mate?" Arya thought.

"Or don't you have a mate?" He asked seeing her dull response, but she gave no reply.

"It is quite evident that she has no mate." Draven scoff.

"Arya where is your mate?" Aziel asked again, this time hoarsely.

"Here I am." A voice said from the stairs and looking over, they all saw Yandel coming down from the stairs.

"Yandel, this is no joke." Aziel said sternly.

"I am her mate." He said and Lizeth shared a surprise look with him, whilst Arya locked gaze with him. Shock was an understatement for her.
