Chapter 6 - Separate Room

Miguel moved forward to them, clapping his hands with a devilish smile plastered on his face.

For some reason, Cecilia's heart skipped a bit as she instinctively pushed Marco away.

"You know, Marco. You don't have to play around with my wife, you can do that outside the mansion walls." Miguel said to Marco who didn't get a clear meaning to what Miguel said. "And as for you, what are you doing here?" He asked Cecilia, throwing shades at her as he crossed his arms.

"I was lost after my conversation with Sir Gonzalez. I didn't know my way in until I met your brother." Cecilia explained but Miguel didn't give a bulge.

Marco just stood there, smiling sheepishly. "You don't seem to get along pretty well with your wife. Or is she just your stand-in wife because Anna wasn't accepted?" Marco let out a low laugh.

Cecilia stood between the brothers, exchanging glances with them as Marco had a warm smile with his face bright, enough to make Miguel mad. She could spot out lot of similarities in their looks but they had opposite characters.

"Are you both twins?" She asked, trying to come in between their tenses.

"No, we aren't!" They yelled in unison as they turned their backs on each other.

Miguel let out a sigh as he grabbed Cecilia's arms and took her away. Marco winked at her and reassured her they'd get along pretty well in the mansion and Cecilia smiled as she happily let Miguel drag her away to an isolated room.

He closed the door behind him as he pinned her to the door, with her standing between his hands. "What was that act you put there? What's your business with my brother?"

"There's nothing. Like I said, I was lost and..."

"...blah blah blah!" Miguel interjected rolling his eyes at her as Cecilia shut her mouth.

She didn't know what was up with this man as he was acting weird.

"You don't want to get caught by my father or any of the family members if they see you around with Marco." He warned, heaving a sigh before walking away to sit on the bed.

I heaved a sigh of relief as I took my time to examine the isolated luxurious bedroom that I was in. It was large and magnificent with a king-sized bedroom in the middle of the room. The room decor was mind-blowing and the air was chill and fresh.

Her gaze fell on Miguel who was on his phone, with a frown on his face as Cecilia didn't know the reason he bothered with her relationship with his brother even if they had one. What she and Miguel had was nothing but a fake relationship and she respected that.

"I didn't want to order two beds because it might seem suspicious. I met with father earlier on." Miguel informed.

****Few minutes ago****

Camilla was seen coming out of the old man's study with anger and frustration etched on her face. Miguel was curious to know what conspired between her and her husband but he didn't let his curiosity get the better of him.

He went inside the study room, only to find his father exhaling as he was massaging his temples with the butler grounding an ink on the other table.

"Father." Miguel bowed his head as he walked up to sit opposite the old man whose face brightened up at the sight of his first son.

"Miguel, my son. I'm glad you took my words into consideration of loving an innocent girl." Old man Gonzalez smiled as he relaxed on his swivel chair.

"Love?" Miguel muttered in his breath. "Father, the reason I'm here is because I needed a separate room."

Miguel's words came in as a surprise to both the old man and the busy butler as they both glanced at him in unison.

"A separate room? For what reason?" Old man Gonzalez asked, raising his brow as his aging eyes widened in curiosity.

"No reason, Dad. I just need it, for work rather." Miguel blurted as he tried to be persuasive.

His words didn't settle with his father as the man swiveled, as he kept his gaze on Miguel who didn't move an inch and his expression void making it difficult for the old man to know what was going through the mind of his son.

"You can work in your room and I would create a workspace there if you want." Old man Gonzalez offered but Miguel waved his hands disapprovingly.

Sigh!

"Forget that I ever asked you for it. When will you be leaving for Dubai?" He asked digressing from the issue.

Old man Gonzalez frowned. "Not anytime soon."

"Oh! Okay." Miguel said, standing up to leave but his father's words stopped him in his tracks.

"Miguel, tell me the reason why you asked for a separate you?"

Miguel sat back in his seat, cursing inwardly and regretting ever bringing that up. "I don't know. I just wanted to have my room so I could work all day without disturbing her peace."

"You want to work all day when you have a wife?"

Miguel's words came as a shock to old man Gonzalez as the oldie couldn't process his son's words in his aging brain.

"I don't get it. I can work all day without spending time with her, it isn't a must." Miguel retorted.

"Shut the hell up, young man. You showed me your marriage certificate, proving to me that you're married to her and yet you don't want to treat her like your wife?" The old man asked, almost yelling as he exhaled before continuing with his nags. "If you stay separately, how would you get intimate? How will I get my grandchildren?"

"Father, it's not about being intimate. Alright, don't give me a separate room, how about a separate bed?"

Butler Kim placed the grounded ink on the old man's table, trying to conceal his laughter with a straight face. The old man was exempted.

"Miguel, you can go. I'm busy." The old man waved at him and gestured him to leave with the latter didn't hesitate to as he stormed out of his father's study room.

"Sir, isn't it obvious that their marriage is fake?" Butler Kim asked, helping with the ink mixture.

"Act like you don't know." The old man let a low laugh before focusing on the documents on his desk.
