Camilla rose. Her heart pounded against her chest as she heard about her being summoned by the old man Gonzalez.
"What does he want?" She asked in uncertainty but the butler even gave her a slight detail about why the old man sought her presence as he walked her to the study room where he awaited.
Immediately as she entered the old man's study, she froze at the sight of him. The stern look on his face made her shiver as she didn't understand why she could go weak on her knees at the sight of her husband.
"Camilla?!" He called her name with a loud voice.
The butler immediately moved to stand beside the old man in order not to be on Camilla's side.
Fear gripped Camilla. Guilt washed over her face as she knew her husband couldn't summon her if she didn't do anything wrong.
"My husband!" She responded, her voice shaky and barely above a whisper.
"Don't call me your husband." He shunned her. "What damage have you done?" He clicked his fingers on the desk, his gaze not leaving hers.
"It was just a small damage and I assure you, nothing got broken."
"Are you sure about that?" He asked raising his brow at her as he gave her a questioning look.
"Yes, I am." She replied almost immediately.
A smile curved on her husband's lips making her gulp hard on her saliva.
"Butler Kim," he snapped his fingers in the air as the butler handed over to him the piece of paper. Old man Gonzalez read aloud the damages caused by Camilla, making the latter stunned.
Camilla instinctively used her hand to cover her mouth as her eyes widened in awe. How did he know about the damages? Who must have told him? She glanced at the butler for confirmation but he was quick to adjust his gaze away from her.
"Honey, I didn't cause those damages intentionally. I was just pissed off by Julia and her son." Camilla explained, her voice gentle and calm.
"Don't rub your sins on my wife and son. Your allowance for this month has been canceled and will be used to replace those broken objects." Old man Gonzalez informed Camilla's despair.
"I'll just pay for it instead. I have plans for my allowance." She pleaded.
"Are you trying to make me go back on my words?"
"No, but please, reconsider."
"Camilla you're dismissed!" The old man yelled sending shivers down her spine.
Camilla didn't know what to do. She promised to send some money to Beatrice and now she was going to fail her daughter. The way he mentioned her rubbing her sins on his wife and son made her feel inferior and even angrier as she stormed out of his study room.
"When will Camilla ever learn?" Old man Gonzalez sighed in frustration, rubbing his temple as the butler handed over to him his medicine.
"Sir, about the young master's wife. What do you think?"
The old man exhaled before answering the Butler's question. "I don't want to talk about them but Cecilia seems like a nice person. She's young and innocent."
"That's the type of woman you've always wanted for the young master." The butler said in affirmation making the old man nod in response.
Old man Gonzalez's eyes met with the marriage certificate that Miguel had given to him earlier. He took it, flipping the pages with a smirk on his face.
"Even young ones can't play their games well." He said, leaving the butler in great confusion as to the meaning of his words.
While Cecilia was being talked about, she was busy asking for directions from the servants she came across.
The latter was lost inside the mansion as she didn't know her way around. She hoped Miguel would come to find her but to her disappointment, he didn't.
She saw some servants passing by as they all held a tray of broken plates. She recognized those plates as the ones used in the dining room. She glanced at the place where the servants were coming from and found a way out there.
Hastily, she climbed up the stairs, hoping to find her way to the sitting room or dining room but it would be better for her to bump into Miguel instead of his family members.
Cecilia found her way to the sitting room but she was being dragged to a corner, her breath hitched as a strong hand was placed to seal her mouth.
"Shh!" She heard a familiar voice say.
Cecilia tried to break free from the strong arms and she eventually did.
"Miguel, why didn't you come to find me?" She asked angrily.
"Miguel? In not Miguel."
"Huh?" Cecilia's eyes widened.
Has she been kidnapped in the mansion? For some reason, she froze. Slowly, she turned around to meet with his gaze only for her to find Marco standing behind her with a sheepish smile on his face.
Cecilia stood still, her emerald-doe eyes sparkling in astonishment at the manly figure before her. She took her time to admire his well-sculptured face as she met with his icy blue eyes. She spotted his resemblance with Miguel but something about him made her feel attracted to him. His silver hair fell in his face and everything about him screamed handsomeness.
"Miss!" He called but Cecilia was busy admiring his face. With a slight sigh, he carefully pinched her cheeks, jolting her back to reality.
"Hmm, I'm sorry, I was lost. I didn't know my way around, I'll just go before things get complicated." Cecilia said in discomfort as she cleared her throat, trying to exit from his presence but he held her hand and pulled her back.
"I know. You seem lost, lass. Why don't I show you around?" Marco said calmly, his voice audible and full of life.
Cecilia felt like she was hypnotized by his voice, his charm, and his touch. She nodded in agreement with her eyes not leaving his face.
Marco smiled back at her. Immediately they turned to leave they met a tall figure approaching them, clapping his hands with a devilish smile on his face.
