Chereads / Supreme Transmigrator-Axton Zavier / Chapter 18 - THE INVITATION LETTER

Chapter 18 - THE INVITATION LETTER

Martin brushed his teeth while pondering about his upcoming exams and his newly gained powers.

The academic examinations would come up in a month and they would be asked to perform a good spell to increase their chances of passing along with the written test.

He looked at his chances and realized that he would be ace the written exams but he wouldn't be able to boost his scores if he took the magic exams.

He had only learnt a single spell of one of his runes and it wasn't that good.

Martin spat out the lather in his mouth.

Today was a free day and they didn't have to go school which meant he had free time to fully master his wind blades.

Martin decided to make some adjustments to his one month time in order to amaze the judges and audience.

He had three elemental runes and two were enough to make everyone to be jealous of him not to mention the fact that he had three runes at once.

Martin decided that he would focus more on his wind element, followed by his fire element, and then he would do the lightning element last.

Just a lightning rune user was enough to cause an uproar yet, he possessed fire, wind, and lightning.

He could be easily killed at his early stage if anyone found out because of their jealousy.

Therefore, Martin decided to only expose his wind element. He could easily use his wind rune to get out of trouble due to its last primary spell.

Sitting on the floor, he began to practice, trying to generate a well developed wind blade but after some hours, his mana supply would be emptied out.

He couldn't deal with this massive consumption of mana for just one element, because he had three.

If he couldn't find a way to increase his supply, he had to bid goodbye to the development of his other runes.

The wind element was proving to be a hard element for him to cultivate and it was the among the weakest elements of the primary elements.

It was as if the rune heard his thoughts as it fluctuated causing the wind blades he was creating to vanish.

"Damn… Sorry, I didn't mean it. You are the strongest, that's why I'm cultivating you first of course."

Martin said in a soothing voice trying to placate the rune so it could let him finally get over with the forms of the wind blades.

Martin had two blades on the palms of his two hands, and there was a wind blades in each of them.

Martin was trying to see if he could hold his focus and create two identical blades of the same size and strength.

If he could achieve this, he would be able to create wind blades from both hands and throw out a barrage of attacks toward his opponent.

_I'll prove to all of them how strong I am._

_____

It was evening and Martin laid on the floor, breathing heavily. He raised up his hand to clean the blood that leaked from his nose. He had been over exhausting his mana and it caused a backlash.

He was at least able to create the identical wind blades before the one on his right hand completely dissipated after lasting two seconds.

It seemed like the left hand which held the wind rune held more power.

_I can't move further with this pace_

Martin thought, he needed a way to get more mana. The progress of his wind rune was way too slow.

He had cultivated for one day, the only progress he made was the increase in the thickness and sharpness of the first wind blade he produced, yet the second blade was nothing to write home about.

He sat up, and he looked at the wall were he had been firing the wind blades into, it was decorated with different styles and sizes of slashes.

_I could go for an adventure, maybe I'd be able to find a King Beast with a well refined mana gem. _

Martin thought but he suddenly shook his head, driving out the reckless plan. At this rate, he wasn't even sure if he was able to kill a normal looking beast.

These beasts were very dangerous, they would swallow him in one gulp. With that thought, he suddenly remembered how Liam, an apprentice mage with two awakened two elements, had died from a single bite from a King Beast.

Martin knew Tana would have had a hard time with the beast if it was distracted by the pleasure of eating him.

So, he couldn't think of going to hunt a King Beast unless he had mastered at least two spells of his fire element.

Martin picked himself up from the floor and moved to his bed, he was mentally and physically exhausted but he enjoyed every moment of his journey.

_______

Morning quickly arrived, but Martin was still lost in a dream. He was in front of his father who was begging and asking for forgiveness but he had refused to forgive him and had him cast out of the family and put into a prison.

Martin felt that he couldn't be the one in that dream, as he had much better plans for his father than what he had seen.

Someone knocked his door causing him to furrow his brows in his sleep. He didn't want to wake up yet but the knocks were getting louder.

"The f**king audacity." Martin grumbled as he climbed down from his bed and he moved to open the door.

Standing in front was a man dressed in a uniform, the man immediately shifted back a little at the sight of Martin, he looked he had taken for three days with his ruffled hair and dark eyes.

Of course, the man was exaggerating.

Martin had pushed his mana limits last night before he slept causing him to be in such disorderly manner.

"A letter for a certain Axton Zavier."

The man stuttered as he handed Martin a letter.1

"You are looking at the one and only."

Martin smiled despite his grumpy look and he grabbed the letter from the mouth and tore it right open.

The envelope didn't look like anything special, until he opened it and a small sparkle burst out into little fireworks.

"Shit… My eyes." Martin shifted the letter away from his face as the little celebration of fire works died down.

He didn't know what brainless human would want to permanently remove the sight of the person that they had sent a letter to.

Wasn't it the eyes that was needed to use and read the letter.

The mail man shifted closer to Martin who had started to read the letter.

"What did it say?" The man said, causing Martin to give him a strange look.

The man coughed awkwardly, before he brought out a tablet and told Martin to hold out the back of his right hand and Martin slowly did albeit in confusion.

Martin's eyes widened when he saw the tablet scanned his hand and some information appeared on the tablet.

"No rune uhn?" The mail man slowly shook his head with pity.

Martin wanted to say something but it thought it was best to keep quiet.

It was due to the fact that he had not yet activated the magic on the fire rune, that no information had appeared about his rune.

"Nice to meet Axton Zavier." The mail man bowed and left, his legs barely touched the ground and he flew away.

Martin's eyed widened, the mail man was actually an Apprentice mage with the same wind rune he had and he couldn't even sense it.

Martin went into his house and locked the door, he wanted to read the letter but his stomach suddenly grumbled and he remembered he had not even eaten last night as he was too busy with his cultivation level.

He grabbed a snack from the little fridge that looked like it was on its breath. Martin knew he had to do a lot of things about this house if he was going to be living there.

He sat on his bed, and brought out the letter. The letter had a gold color on its edges and the handwriting looked elegant.

Martin's eyes narrowed as he read through the contents of the letter.

It seemed that his Family head was inviting him to a party, but why was the man inviting him of all people?

Martin couldn't help but think that the old man had some kind of dangerous ploy going on in that rotting brain of his.

He read the letter further and saw that a party was being hosted, actually it was two parties; A birthday party and a breakthrough party.

Someone had broken through to an higher level and was also celebrating a birthday at the same time.

Rich people had the weirdest excuses for spending money.

Well, Martin couldn't judge them as he had also done the same thing.

His eyes moved down and he suddenly slapped his forehead.

_I should have known_

The celebrant whose name was written at the bottom of the letter was no other than Tana.

He really felt a bit stupid, all the signs were there but he ignored them.

He couldn't understand how such a sweet girl was birthed to such a cunning, and wicked man like the Family Head.

_Well that doesn't stop my plans._

Martin would still make sure he ruins the father head's position by making the lives of his parents miserable.

Then, he could later comfort Tana by letting her warm his bed, not that he would say that to her.

He would go along with their plan as he couldn't do much as a poor orphan with only one primary-level spell at his beck and call.

The primary spell was not even completed.

"Sure, I'd come to your party." Martin smiled to himself before munching on his snacks.

He had decided to come for some reasons, one of which was he was astonished that Tana was able to achieve such a feat and become an Apprentice at eighteen.

The other reason was to infiltrate the family mansion and find something that would at least help him to bring down the family head.

It could be a single hidden secret or two, something that would tarnish the reputation of the family at least.

The party was scheduled to hold after the magical examinations so that it could have a wide audience and the family head would be able boast about his talented daughter.

"This is perfect, I'd have gotten hang of the first primary spell of the fire rune. At least, I'd be run away with the wind rune if anything does goes wrong."

Martin could already picture the look on the Family head's face after realizing that an orphan was one step ahead of him.
