Ethan charged forward with his knife, aiming straight for Jaden's throat. Someone wanted to end this quickly…
Jaden barely stumbled out of the way. Without God Mode's speed, he was just a regular man. Ethan smirked obnoxiously.
"Sorry, was that a bit too fast for Mr. Martial Artist?"
Jaden narrowed his eyes. "I'm just getting started."
Jaden needed a defensive stat boost, quick. What were his stats right now?

[Speed: 45]
[Height ….
Stop right there! Why did systems always insist on giving much more information than was necessary? How did Jaden's height or weight affect anything in this fight!?
Those stats didn't sound great, but what was he up against? Could his system check Ethan's stats as well?

There must be some sort of stat booster that wasn't so…suspicious.
Jaden had to come up with something, fast. Ethan was trying to finish this fast. He lunged at Jaden once more, but Jaden avoided it again. However, he didn't notice that Ethan had brought out another knife!!
He slashed and it hit Jaden's arm, leaving a line of blood. Jaden felt a sharp burning pain in his arm. Come on, system, give him something to work with!
That wasn't God Mode.

Jaden wasn't sure that would be much better, but he was running out of time. Ethan was getting impatient. He reluctantly activated it, just as Ethan prepared another strike.
Jaden felt a surge of power, as if his body was suddenly growing heavier and more alert. It wasn't nearly the same as God Mode. When he had activated God Mode, it was as if he was no longer in complete control. It was like his body moved on its own, and yet he knew exactly what was going on…and enjoyed it.
Jaden had a feeling God Mode could be dangerous.
Jaden quickly checked his stats.

What was this!? To go from weak to strong so easily, this was some sort of hack! Now this fight would be almost too easy.

What the hell!? His system tricked him!! No way was he using God Mode.
Even with such greater stats, to finish a fight so quickly must be impossible! Did he really have a choice!?
Ethan crossed his blades and charged at Jaden. Jaden swiftly countered with only his fist. Ethan was slightly surprised, although he tried to hide it.
Time didn't slow down like when he used God Mode, but he could react a lot faster than he was used to.
Jaden aimed a quick jab straight at Ethan's face. Ethan blocked, but barely. Now he was the one struggling to keep up.
The timer was ticking like it was counting down to Jaden's death. All he could hear was a harsh ticking sound. The timer was displayed right in front of his face. As if he would forget.
Jaden was usually a pretty calm guy, it took a lot to get him mad. But right now, he was getting angry. Everything, from his system's trickery to Ethan's smug mockery was starting to make him feel a chilling rage coming straight from his soul.
It was enough.
Jaen grabbed Ethan and twisted his arm swiftly so he dropped one of his knives. It disappeared as soon as it left his hand. Ethan attacked with the other knife, but Jaden had already flipped him onto the ground.
Ethan jumped back up and darted around behind Jaden. He turned around, to see he now had three blades.
Three? What a joke. Jaden had fought against much more than that.
With swift movements, Jaden flicked two of Ethan's blades out of his hands. Ethan flipped backwards, away from Jaden's strike, and threw his one remaining blade.
Jaden saw the blade coming for him. It would hit him directly in the heart if he didn't move fast.
But Jaden was done running away.
His eyes flashed gold and he reached out and grabbed the knife. He caught it with a smile. Ethan's face flickered with shock. Jaden ran towards him and before Ethan could even react, Jaden had him pinned to the ground with his own knife.
From behind the glass, Sofia's face transformed into a small smile.
