Chapter 16 - Mr Schneider, Mr D

The strong pair of arms belonged to none other than Dominick Schneider.

"How could you be so irresponsible? Damn it, look at yourself," he rasped, his frustration evident.

"What the hell are you doing here? Leave me!" she struggled in his arms, but he refused to let go.

"Now listen to me... don't ever show this type of carelessness again," he sternly warned.

She couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Look who's talking," she chuckled.

"Shut up," he said firmly, carrying her in his arms until they reached his car.

"Let me go, I said! Don't you dare touch me! I hate you!" she screamed, but he remained unaffected by her pleas.

"Please, don't create a scene here. It's so cold, where is your coat?" he asked, genuine concern etched on his face.

"Don't call me Hya. Only Mr. D used to call me that. He's the only one with that right, Mr. Schneider," she said, her voice full of intoxicating sweetness.

"But I'm Mr. D." He tried to make her believe him.

" I've told you this before. I don't believe it. If it was you all along, why did you hide all this?" She asked groggily while he struggled to make her sit beside him in the back seat and asked the driver to take his position. Then he continued, "I was bound..."

"Hahaha, that's all you could say? But why were you bound? The great Mr Schneider of Schneider designs was bound," she playfully commented, sitting close to him and holding him tightly.

"Hyacinth, I love you... I love you, and that's the truth I know. I don't care what you think about me. I know you love me. We need to talk, but unfortunately, you aren't in your senses right now," he explained, keeping her even closer.

She didn't struggle any further because she still needed him. These were the best moments of her life - being close to her love. She breathed in his scent, which was so mouthwatering that she didn't know how to resist. She hid her face beneath his neck and stayed there, while Dominick savored the strawberry scent of her hair. They closed their eyes, mesmerizing each other. Finally, she spoke softly,

"I want to stay forever in your arms."

"You can stay here as long as you want," he whispered. She looked at him with a cute expression, at that moment, he desperately wanted to capture her lips, but the situation didn't allow it. She found solace in resting her head on his chest and drifted off to sleep.

As they reached her apartment, he carried the sleeping beauty in his arms. He rang the bell, and Jubilee opened the door. Her eyes widened at the sight of Mr Schneider standing there with Hyacinth in his arms, sound asleep.

"What are you doing here? And what have you done to her? Why is she in this state?" she asked, her concern evident.

"Ask your idiot of a friend. She had two shots of wine. Now, just keep quiet and tell me where her bed is. I'll put her to sleep there," he replied, his tone a mix of frustration and worry. Jubilee showed him the way, and he carefully laid her down on the bed, noting that she was gripping his shirt tightly.

"Jubilee, let her sleep. She really needs it. And one more thing, you're not taking good care of her, and that's really intolerable. I know I've caused enough damage, but at least you should take care of her," he said, his voice filled with a sense of responsibility.

"Don't teach me, Mr Schneider. Oh, should I call you Mr Dominick or Mr. D? You cheated her, and she's in this condition because of your nonsense. And now you're accusing me? I'm at least doing better than you. Stay away from her, okay? Don't mess with her," Jubilee retorted, her anger evident.

"I will never ever leave her. And one more thing, ask her to join the office again. She cannot leave her position for a year. I haven't accepted her resignation," he declared, his gaze fixed on Hyacinth the entire time. He made a mental note to turn the world upside down to get her back, knowing that he wanted her in his life forever. As he helped her remove his shirt, one of the buttons fell to the floor, but he didn't bother to pick it up, lost in his own thoughts. He made sure she was comfortably covered with the quilt, said goodbye, and left with a heavy heart.

NEXT MORNING

She woke up and found herself in bed. She was covered with someone's coat and then with a quilt. She smelled it and recognized the scent.

"Nick came here?" she asked Jubilee, who was sitting next to her.

"Yeah, you were in a miserable condition. He brought you here... You know, he still loves you and cares for you. Give him another chance. You yourself told me that you love him too, so what's the hurdle?" Jubilee replied.

"I... It's just that I need some time to make Mr Schneider, Mr. D. They were two different people to me. Now it's difficult for me to make them one," she explained.

"I wish you'd cope with yourself soon. And one more thing, he was accusing me of not taking good care of you. He's really like Romeo. Also, you should join his company again because he didn't accept your resignation. You have to work for him for another year," Jubilee said, expressing her thoughts.

"Hmm, I'll see what I can do," she replied, staying in his coat to feel his presence. As she started heading towards the bathroom, she noticed something on the floor. It was a button. She felt confused, but Jubilee explained.

"You broke the button of your crazy lover," she said with a smile, while Hyacinth placed it with the other things that belonged to her.

"Okay, wait, going back? He handed me this," Jubilee said . Hyacinth was surprised.

"What?" she asked.
