Chereads / Letters for my Mother / Chapter 15 - SOUL

Chapter 15 - SOUL

You've rooted me here firmly to the ground,

I beg for nourishment as I draw near.

I speak with conviction,

though I'm a poor liar,

Why does the sun shine so bright when days have begun?

Will fireflies dance as they take flight anew?

I see you daily;

how could I ever miss that?

Your gaze,

profoundly hypnotic,

draws me near,

As I try to triangulate your location.

Her wisdom,

intertwined with branches and leaves,

Forbid my passage,

'Thou shall not pass!'

she cries.

I creep closer,

her movement then comes to a halt,

She turns to look at me,

her frame is well-built.

Her frame, a master's delight,

in a strange light,

Her voice,

like smooth silk,

caresses my ears' delight.

For a moment,

I picture you and I,

Dressed in nothing but her radiant smile.

Pardon my intrusion,

but you've caught my eye,

You seem to conspire with my heart's strange beat. My limbs are unmoving,

yet I'd walk for miles,

Just to be near you in this strange new world.

It sounds farfetched,

but lately, all is strange,

I've never felt like this,

I hope you see.

May I ask your name before our wild tango? Perhaps, later,

we'll sip mango and lounge.

"My name is Destiny,"

she softly spoke,

"And I am drawn to your soul,"

she confessed.

"My name is..." I began,

but she knew it well.

Her chuckle sent waves within,

as I gathered my thoughts.

"You have what most desire

light in darkness,

A heart and soul with hidden wounds,

I see.

I've come to mend it for you,"

she declared,

Stretching her hands in my soul.

Reluctantly,

I made way,

still guarded,

She pulled me close,

a warmth I hadn't felt for ages .

"I think I've found you,"

Joyful, I confessed.

"No, we've found each other,"

souls embraced at last.
