Chereads / Letters for my Mother / Chapter 21 - CROWN

Chapter 21 - CROWN

"My crown falls down unto the empire's sway,

Above the clouds,

my head is lifted high.

With dreads and visions of the past,

I stay,

Crowning my head,

but aware my Kingdom's nigh.

They send their spies to undermine my reign,

In clouds,

I dwell,

with obstacles to see.

My crown,

it wears a frown,

a heavy chain,

Yet,

lift it up,

cast naysayers,

let them flee.

Within these four walls,

my rule is held,

Expanding power,

they would kill if they can.

Wrapped inside their cloud,

where I'm compelled,

Blue skies are gone,

replaced by a barren land.

The birds have flown,

and nature bears the scars,

Brothers

sisters

face discrimination's plight.

With sands of time,

the clouds rain down like stars,

In the streets,

brothers haunt,

seeking respite.

Crown,

where wisdom sleeps,

emerges bright,

Innocence claimed,

a generation charged.

We lay to waste,

oppressors,

with our might,

Money deep as oceans,

yet pockets enlarged.

Jury duty fails as bail,

an empty creed,

Inside these bars,

no crown upon my head.

Guest of the state,

no power do I need,

Incarcerated,

where justice's light has fled."
