Chapter 36 - Punishment! Part 3

I was left in the prison cell, with a bunch of rat-human hybrids, and a dirty toilet, these people think that it's okay to put poor souls inside jail cells, which could even cause the death god to be disappointed and mad.

What I had done?

This disappointed me, I wondered where did they left Ayase at, is she alive, or did they kill her... I won't ever forgive them, I'll bring destruction.

Ayase, I'm sorry but, it would appear that things may have taken a turn for the worse.

But a sudden footstep was approaching toward me, it was Reina, "Hiro, I can't believe you did this."

"I just didn't know how to react," I said.

"I'm sorry..." she mumbled sadly.

I couldn't stop thinking about the event that transpired earlier.

"I couldn't stop my father from taking action against you," She whispered. "I'm just so shameless of myself."

"It was your father's decision, not yours!" I exclaimed loudly.

She explained, "Please calm down Hiro!"

She placed her hand on the bar of a prison cell, and said, "I understand how you feel right now, but please understand that you going die, if you going out and fought in the arena."

"And, what should we do now, Reina," I said.

"My father away ruthless, and he will do anything to kill the rebel slave," said Reina. "As far as I can see, the arena was made for slaves to entertain the nobles' delight and glory."

"And we do something, make it a point to lose this game and then be pardoned, then what," I said

"Well, yeah, that's basically what I wanted to say," she said.

"Well then, how would the next course of events go down from there?" I asked with a skeptical look on my face.

"Just don't lose Hiro, you need to show my father who you are," Reina said and left with sadness in her eyes.

Her words rang loud and clear in my ears, and I felt confident enough to prove her theory.

I clench my teeth, and fists as I look at Reina fading in distance and the light, but then, she turns around and stares at me with hopeful eyes, she said "Promise me Hiro, that you'll never lose"

With this determination in mind, I can do it, and I'll crush the rebellion army and make a name for the world.

(Reina Pov View)

After the terrible incident, the nobles were enraged with rage, they didn't want to hear any excuses, and they decided to send the sisters back to their home.

But I couldn't stop thinking about Ayase, her tragic fate was all my fault.

Ayase was my friend, and I would have done anything to save her. But, now that I think about it, she did ask me to go against my father's wishes.

I know that it wasn't my fault, but still, I couldn't help feeling guilty.

I even put Hiro into a prison cell, just because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hiro's a good man, and I'm sure that he would have never hurt anyone.

But still, I was going to blame myself for his death, just because I had nothing else to blame.

My father and mother are the type person who is willing to fight for Glory to gold. So, I can understand that reason.

How can put this to explain about my father and mother? They're both very strong-willed people, and they're always looking out for the betterment of our family name.

They both wanted to go to the arena to fight so that they could bring honour to their family name.

It was also their goal to get as many medals as possible, to show off to everyone and make them proud.

My Father once ruled over the country, of his glory and honour, but that honour was gone 12 years ago a tragic accident happened, there was a man named Fungus, and he was my father's right-hand panther, they were fought side, by side, but then Fungus betray my father and put harm to my family and my country and take power, a new kingdom rule the place as new Fungus's reign of terror begin.

But my father refused to give in; he always said that he would defeat the enemy, no matter what happened.

After my father and his right-handed panther left apart, the family didn't do good and fell to despair and shame.

But this event made my parents try harder, they wanted to show that they could win battles as well, and that way they could gain glory and honour.

My father went hellish and ruthless, then later on founded new topic is to make slave-trading, to the biggest slavery of them, the demand for slaves has risen exponentially and their influence is everywhere. My mother's cruel and vicious and she loves to torture and manipulate people, in a way that only she knows how it doesn't matter if she knows whether you're innocent or not; you get no mercy.

They both took the opportunity to become a mercenary and, hired to any dangerous quest, slaving, pillaging, kidnapping, killing, maiming and enslaving people.

They only cared about wealth, and their reputation and glory to the gold.

My sister Yuna grew up under pressure from our parents, but then Yuna didn't like their cruelty and became an adventurer.

Yuna was on the mother's side, cause her DNA was similar to the mother's, Yuna didn't has any childhood experience. Yuna couldn't choose to rebel against her parents, cause her parents power are too powerful, she doesn't have an option.

Yuna found it hard to follow my parents' wishes, so instead, she ran away, without saying goodbye, leaving nothing behind and making sure nobody knew where she was going or what she was going to do. She probably would never return.

I always admired Yuna's bravery and strength, and although I had no idea why she chose this path, I knew that she would survive.

I did have a dream become an adventure and save my family name honour but that was a long dream I once dreamed of a long ago a tragedy happened and turned me back from being the legendary hero.

I heard tales about the legendary hero, who could put a stop to grand war by himself, single-handled, to him, not a mere myth anymore and in the flesh and blood, the old times of the hero are the reality. I could sense his presence and felt a wave of great emotion wash over me.

I Hope Hiro doesn't die out there in the arena, fight against someone who doesn't even have a fighting spirit... Hiro's was like a ray of sunshine and brighten up my day...

Even though he was still young and immature when I first-time duel Hiro, he was skilful and clever and He learned my movement and ability as time goes, I couldn't believe even children could be skillful enough.

However, the battle in the arena doesn't give me a real sense of battle, the real taste of my sword can test my abilities and sharpen my mind for real, a genuine deadly battle, an ultimate competition between two expert knights...

Those dreams seem to be far away...

As far as my memory could go... I always looked up at Yuna, Yuna wasn't like normal nobles' children, she never demanded anything like other kids, she always remained silent but her heart was huge, when people got injured in war, she was the only one to help.

This day, Hiro please don't die in my place, I knew from my heart, that one day Hiro will become my dream...
