"Is this the power of a Behemoth ability? Interesting." I thought to myself.
"Hahaha, you like that, don't you, kid?" laughed the Lord of Warfare. "How about this!" He threw another giant fist at me, which I dodged again by moving behind him, but I still felt pain in my foot.
"You're still alive," he yelled, "that means you're not completely useless."
I wasn't sure if he was taunting me, so I ignored him and focused on my next attack.
My lighting speed wasn't able to dodge his attacks, and I needed to get in close range to cause any damage.
The problem with that idea was that it would require me to get closer to the Lord of Warfare, who was very large and muscular.
The only thing left for me to do was to charge at the Lord of Warfare and try to knock him down with a flying kick, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to do much damage in the process.
But there was no time left to think about strategies, so I had to act fast. I ran towards the Lord of Warfare and jumped up high into the air, aiming for his face.
But his reflexes were quicker than mine, and he managed to block my kick with his huge arm. I landed on the ground hard and rolled over a few times before stopping on my back.
The crowd was cheering loudly for the Lord of Warfare, and they began chanting his name, "Lord of Warfare! Lord of Warfare!"
As I struggled to get back onto my feet, I realised that I was in trouble. I needed to do something fast to turn things around, or else I would lose this fight.
Defiantly, I knew I needed the plan to prevent things out, but came with the idea, I quickly looked at the father of Reina and Yuna, I could tell he was enjoying this, and that was the sign for me to go.
The Lord of Warfare saw that I was looking at his father, so he took a step back and yelled at me, "What are you doing, kid?! Are you scared? Come on, show me what you got!"
I was taken aback by his taunting words, but I quickly regained my composure. I knew what I needed to do, and I wasn't going to let anything stop me.
The Lord of Warfare began charging at me with his giant fists ready, but I used my lighting to increase my speed once more and rushed towards the Lord of Warfare before he could even react.
I was able to avoid his attacks completely and start running around him so fast that he couldn't keep up. The Lord of Warfare started swinging his arms madly, but I avoided his blows easily by circling around him continuously, never stopping for even a moment.
My speed had increased a hundred times thanks to my Lightning ability, and it was enough for the Lord of warfare not to know which direction my attack would come.
The crowd was stunned to silence after witnessing my incredible movements, which caused the arena to become quiet once again.
"Kid, What the heck are you doing try to run around me, are you scared of my strength and skills" the Lord of warfare continued his mockery, his voice echoed through the silent arena.
I ignored his taunts and kept running around him as if I was dodging his punches.
I could tell this Warfare was getting tired of this, and annoyed by the fact that I was just running around him without trying to fight.
He was breathing heavily, and I noticed that he was starting to tire. He wasn't really hurt yet, but I knew I could take advantage of this.
But his face and veins were turning red, he had glitched his teeth angrily, and I could see that he wanted to kill me right now.
His face was changing from a devilish expression to one of pure anger.
I didn't have any other choice, so I stopped running around him and charged at him while he was still off-balance.
The Lord of Warfare attempted to evade the attack, but time was against him. In a swift and calculated move, I seized him by the collar and brought him crashing down to the ground. His balance shattered, and he collided with the unforgiving earth with a resounding impact.
"Damn you kid! You won't get away from me so easily!" he yelled
"Oh yeah?" I replied sarcastically, "How about we change places, and you teach me how to use your skill properly?"
As soon as I said those words, the Lord of Warfare's eyes lit up, and he immediately began charging at me. I dodged his attacks and grabbed him by the wrist.
"Stop fighting and give me the chance to show you what I've learned," I ordered.
Despite his huge body physically increasing his strength, his mind seemed to be slowing down because of his rage, allowing me to overpower him with ease.
But something different to him, when I took a chance to look at him closely. There was no hatred in his eyes anymore, he looked more concerned for me.
We faced each other for several minutes, exchanging blows back and forth until I finally managed to get his wrists behind his back.
It felt like my heart would burst out of my chest, I was exhausted, but I needed to finish him fast. I used the momentum to slam him into the ground hard.
My mana gauge dropped dramatically due to this action. I was exhausted, but I couldn't let go of his wrists, I needed to end this.
I was done playing games with him, I decided that I would end this fight swiftly and decisively.
he stopped, but began speaking, "Tell me, kid you here to get revenge on me? Or are you here to prove yourself stronger than me?"
"No, I'm here to find someone..." I answered.
The Lord of Warfare gave me a puzzled look, "Who?"
I didn't answer, instead, I moved his hand onto the ground, making him lie flat on the floor. I placed a foot upon his neck, forcing him to bend forward slightly.
"Tell me, kid, you are here to get revenge on someone or...you're here to find someone?" He asked me.
I glare at him confused, " What is the matter asking me questions now?"
"Well, you see here, I have been thinking about a lot, you do look like someone I knew long ago, I just can't put a finger on it though."
I narrowed my eyes, "Why did you ask me these things if you don't want to tell me anything?"
The Lord of Warfare chuckled, "Because I want to know if there is any truth in this story that I am hearing." he continued, "Are You from the family of Midnight, and Your Father is Vincent Midnight?"
"What?!" I shouted loudly, " How did you know my father?"
His eyes widened, "Oh, so you are the child of the Midnight's right?"
I stared blankly at him, "How do you know my name? Are you related to the Midnights?" I asked.
"No," he laughingly replied, "Your father is a special person to me, he was my old-time friend, we trained together a few times."
I stare at him for a while, trying to make sense of what he said.
"So...what exactly does your father do?" I asked.
The Lord of Warfare chuckled, "He is a warrior, a skilled fighter, and an expert mage."
"But how do you know him?"
"Hiro! Don't worry about those people, they won't interfere anymore."
I turned around and looked at the father and mother who hosting this match.
I turned back and looked at this huge man who seemed to be my father's friend, and I thought he was telling the truth, I mean, I could feel something inside of me saying that he wasn't lying.
"Now, why are you here?" The Lord of Warfare asked me again,
I answered, " I was putting in this match to fight for their glory for gold as a slave of their family."
"You was slave, how came could be happened?"
I took a deep breath, and spoke, "Well, back then, when I met the HeadMaster of Blackthorn, he was a ruthless person who dared to take one of my companions away from me and arrest me as a slave, but unfortunately was here to fought for their honour and glory."
"Huh, The Family of Blackthorn doesn't usually treat its slaves well, most of them are used as tools instead of being treated as people, especially when you are not of a pure bloodline of noble blood," he told me and continued
"Kid, do you have a plan to escape from this place?" He asked me.
I sighed, "Not really, because I'm still young, and I didn't have any other skills besides fighting. I don't think anyone will help me out."
"Don't worry Kid, I will try my best to save you, you are a good boy, and I am sure you'll find some way to escape, I believe that there is someone in this world willing to risk their lives just for you."
"Thank you, but it's fine, I want to stay here."
The Warfare smiled, "Well, I see no harm if you wish to stay here, but please listen carefully to me."
"Of course," I said.
"If you here to get your hand dirty on the family Blackthorn, then, this one thing to watch out a person called 'Vald' and another person called 'Tas'. They're dangerous individuals, so keep an eye out for them, and you might encounter them when the time comes." He stare at me deeply.
"They are powerful mages, and they're able to control monsters and beasts, but you must remember, these two aren't your friends, so don't trust them, and never make a deal with them." He warned me.
"But what about you?"
He shrugged, "I have my own problems, I have to protect myself, so I can't help you with anything else, sorry."
I nodded, I knew he was right.
"Well, since it's your win, I decided to end this match earlier, so we can move on to the next round."
This man Warfare began to exit the Arena, and the crowd became angrily and yelled out loud, "Warfare, Why are you leaving, Are you giving up?"
Warfare walked out from the door and then turned around, "Y'all want some intense match, then listen here, this boy who stood here brave and fought, This boy calls himself Hiro Midnight, he is the son of a famous mage, his father was a member of the Royal Guard, his mother is a former maid of the Queen herself! So, give this boy respect, otherwise, I won't tolerate it anymore!"
As he finished his speech, the crowd began to quiet down and watched me intently.
A man from the crowd stepped forward and shouted out loud. "So, this is the father of the young Midnight, so what do you say now, you little brat? Do you still have the guts to fight?"
I looked back at the crowd and grinned, "Yeah, I still have guts, but I will not show it in public."
I began to put my foot, and exit from the arena while making a big stride.
The Guard grabbed behind me and showed me my location back to the prison cell where I was taken before.
The father of Reina and Yuna glared at me, he seemed angry, and his expression changed into a terrifying grimace.
"You bastard..." He growled.
I turned around and faced him. "You better be careful of what you say, because if you dare to call me names again, I'll rip your head off."
He stared at me coldly and then roared loudly. "Your mouth is full of shit, I'm going to kill you, Midnight, I swear!"
The Guard moved forward and pulled me to my prison cell.
Once there, he locked the door and then left.
I sat down on the floor and sighed, feeling exhausted and worn out after that battle, I felt like I had just gone through a war.
