(Main Character Hiro Midnight POV View)
Reina walked away from me, and I was left alone to think about what I was going to do. I was thinking about the promise I had made to her, and how I would keep it.
I didn't know if I could really make it out alive, but I was determined to do anything I could to survive. I was just about to think about a plan to escape from this prison cell, but then a guard came up to me and told me that someone wanted to see me.
"Get up kid, the master wants to talk to you."
"Ok..." I replied, slightly confused.
We ascended a flight of stairs that led us to a grand doorway, and as we approached, the door swung open with deliberate slowness. Beyond its threshold lay a dimly lit room, the flickering glow of candles casting dancing shadows on the walls. In the centre of this mysterious chamber, I beheld a man seated in solemn repose, his eyes sealed shut in deep contemplation.
It was the father of Reina, the one who was responsible for my arrest and Ayase's.
"Hiro Midnight," He said as he stared at me, "You were very unfortunate to meet me."
He stood up and began walking toward me, "I am the great leader of this kingdom, you must have heard of me."
"Yes, I have," I responded.
"Good, good," he chuckled.
"What is it that you want from me?" I asked him.
"Since you going to fight in the arena, I thought that I might offer you some advice," He explained.
"And what advice is that?"
"Well, for starters, you should try to stay away from my daughter. She's a foolish child, and I don't want her getting involved with someone like you."
"But, I think she's a good person, and she would never hurt anyone," I stated.
He gave me a death glare, then laughed, "That may be true, but I want her to be pure, no tainted souls or person who dares to sullies her perfect soul... I see the spark you have, so let's get one thing straight... you don't get anywhere near my precious little princess or, I'll murder you where you stand. Understood?"
"Huh?, I won't go near her if she comes to me, that's out of my hands," I stated.
"You do that or else, I'll kill you myself, Hiro!" He responded sternly, a very scary look plastered across his face, then, he walked off.
The guard began leading me back to my room, which was empty, and after locking the cell door, he left the room.
My fist clenched angrily, My teeth gnashed in frustration, and my nails dug in, creating deep scratches. "Damnit!"
If I don't have any information that is important, it's meaningless... How many days will it be until the duel begins, I can't do anything as I sit here...
After spending Hours and Hours in the prison cell, I decided to hold my palm out and spawn a blue lighting ball, in my palms, energy from my body absorbed every surrounding, and every colour of light was combined with the same amount, the same as my stamina or, I use magic as a medium.
Spent training my energy control in my prison cell, and practising my abilities, I meditated a lot during my stay in jail, My soul forces core revolves around itself, and I want to catch up and be determined to awaken the next stage of my mana.
After 4 Days, I broke out in sweat, panting in exhaustion.
(5th November 9:02 am, Day before duel, Prison Cell)
Time passed, and I thought I was dreaming that today I would be finally freed, for some unknown reason, they planned to free me, I couldn't understand what they planned to do, but my excitement made it worth it.
A group of guards came downward the stairway, to the prison cell, there were six of them, all armed and armoured, their armour glinted under the ceiling. They carried a large wooden plank, which contained my possessions.
"You still here kid, I didn't expect you to be here, I thought you escaped for now," said the first man, an old bald head.
"Nah, I don't need to," I said, yawning and stretching.
"Well, come along and grab your weapon, you might need it to fight against another."
"Oh really..." I wondered as we continued toward the arena.
A prison guard opens the iron gate, he leads me down a winding set of stone stairs that are lit only by a few torches on the walls, into the bowels of the earth, to a room far beneath the streets and buildings above.
When I arrived, I was faced with a line of people. They're all staring at me, they know what happened. Some of them looked away, embarrassed that they had to be with me.
I didn't know how many noble people watched in the crowd but a sudden burst of sound emanated from outside.
Then, I went into a separate room to prepare for the arena.
I put on my uniform, which is white in colour, and the size fits snugly, unlike a baggy costume, there is no armour at all but the pants are covered in red chains.
I finished off the look with a leather belt around my waist and the scabbard of the long blade at my back.
I wrapped some cloth strips around the scabbard's edge to prevent the sword's tip from digging into its holder. I double-knotted it, tightening it more, the sound of metal scraping metal made a rustling sound in my ears.
There's no time to prepare now. All of a sudden, a familiar voice echoes throughout the room.
A guard stands behind me, wearing a helmet with horns on its side. "Are you ready?"
I take a deep breath, nod, and grab the helmet.
In the distance, I can see the massive crowd of people cheering, my opponent awaits in the centre, clad in green.
"Let's go!" The guard slaps me lightly.
A heavy metal clank reverberated through my ears. "For your glory! For your strength! Fight on!" The audience erupts.
I glanced around and saw Yuna and Reina and their father and mother standing beside each other, looking up at me, waiting for me to begin.
I clenched my fists tightly, the resounding roar of the crowd enveloping me once more. My heart raced in anticipation as I prepared to witness the outcome of this thrilling match. "Wait for me, Ayase," I whispered to myself, a pledge to infuse this moment with the electrifying excitement and intensity it deserved.
