"Natasha, we'll be late for class if you keep sleeping for a few more minutes."
Lucas stood outside, knocking on the door a few more times. He had done this a few times already, and to no avail. The girl in the room did not wake up, as if she did not hear the knock on the door and his call.
"Lucas, you should go into Natt's room and check it out. Maybe she wears headphones when she sleeps."
The voice of Mrs. Hence resounded below the house. Lucas stood in front of Natasha's door, hesitant for a long time. His hand rested on the doorknob, hesitating as to what to do.
From the time Lucas started puberty until now, he hasn't entered Natasha's room. He didn't like entering her room, not because he hated to do that. Lucas was afraid that he would not be able to control himself when he entered the room filled with the sweet scent of Natasha.
But now, he couldn't help but enter. If she were late for class today, then Natasha would have to go to the principal to discuss this matter. As an older brother, Lucas couldn't even watch his sister come to the room of the perverted principal who liked to look at the female student's thighs.
"Natt, I'll go inside!"
Lucas opened the door and slowly walked in. The lights in Natasha's room were still dim, she was still sleeping. Lucas looked at the girl holding the teddy bear he bought her for her birthday last year, the corner of his lips could not help but curl up a little.
Natasha slept very well. She didn't even know someone had entered her room. As the light from the hallway shone inside, Natasha frowned slightly. She turned around, pressed her eyes to the pillow, and continued her beautiful dream.
"Natt…"
Lucas sat down beside Natasha's bed. He put his hand on her shoulder and shook it gently. Her smooth skin seemed to attract his gaze.
Natasha moved slightly, causing the thin blanket to slide down to her hips, revealing her flat stomach. Lucas swallowed a mouthful of saliva, cursing in his heart. He quickly turned his face away, trying to control his increasingly rapid heartbeat. Lucas, you mustn't think anything dark about Natasha, she's your sister. He told himself so, but his eyes couldn't help but rest on Natasha once more.
"Natt, if you don't wake up, I'll eat all your favorite pancakes."
"You wouldn't do that."
Upon receiving a response from Natasha, Lucas burst out laughing. Apparently, his little sister was already awake, just pretending to be asleep.
"Why do you think I won't eat your pancakes?"
"Because you are always the one who gives me your pancakes."
Natasha slowly sat up. Her sleepy face had a hint of something very endearing about it. Lucas blushed slightly and hurried to get up. He was afraid that he would do unforgivable things when he saw this defenseless appearance of Natasha.
Today, Lucas went to school first. He has a test, so he needs to go to class to study. Like every day, the moment Lucas entered the school, all eyes were on him.
Lucas and Natasha are the two most popular people in school. Their beauty is what is extremely attractive. Especially Lucas. Come to think of it, his sharp eyes and cold expression on his handsome face really made the girls in the school fall in love.
He was also used to this and didn't care much about other people's eyes. After all, in his eyes, there was always only one silhouette, and it would never change.
"Brother Lucas!"
A call made him pause for a moment. Jullia rushed down the stairs, happily standing in front of him. Lucas frowned slightly, he…does he know this girl?
"Lucas, why are you going to school alone today? Where's Natt?"
Jullia looked around like a habit. Lucas looked at the sun-shining blonde hair of the girl standing in front of him, silent for a long time. It took him a long time to remember that this was Natasha's classmate and her sister's best friend. He took off his headphones and slowly answered Jullia's question.
"I have a test today, so go to school first. Natt will come later."
"Oh, so it is. She must be up late again, right?"
For some reason, Lucas felt that there was something wrong with Jullia's gaze. Her eyes, like they were showing an unspeakable joy at not seeing Natasha with him. But Lucas didn't really care, he wasn't a skeptic. Jullia's gaze just now, was probably because he was looking at it wrong.
"Ah, that's right. Has Natt talked to everyone? That she has a lover?"
Jullia walked beside Lucas, trying to find a topic to talk about. Between her and Lucas, there was absolutely nothing in common. Therefore, their stories revolve around Natasha only. But, Julia certainly didn't expect, the topic she chose this time, to touch the scar in Lucas' heart.
His face darkened. Looks like a lot of people already know about Natasha being confessed to, right? And he, apparently her brother, did not know anything. As if, Natasha had considered him a stranger, no longer her brother. This thought made Lucas' heart clench, painfully. Jullia was still talking happily beside him, but Lucas wasn't in the mood to listen to her words anymore. He walked faster, leaving Jullia behind and returning to the classroom.
Natasha wouldn't consider him an outsider, would she? She still considers him a member of her family, doesn't she? Lucas doesn't know either. Perhaps, she soon ceased to consider him a member of their family.
Damned! He slammed his hand on the table. His bad mood drove him mad. Lucas stood up and hurriedly left the classroom. He couldn't seem to breathe, everything became suffocating.
However, Lucas immediately regretted leaving the classroom. The image of Natasha happily walking into the school, walking beside her, was another boy. The two of them were happily talking to each other, their hands clasped together. The scene was as beautiful as it was in a painting, but it was like a thorn in Lucas' eye. The smile that he thought was only for him, was shared with a strange boy. Has he... really been abandoned once more?
