So I decided to check who the caller was and discovered it was a strange number. Who could be the one calling?"
"PAUL!" Daddy whispered.
"Paul, Paul Paul! Which Paul?"
"HERE'S MY PHONE NUMBER, MAKE SURE YOU CALL ME BECAUSE YOU'LL BE NEEDING MY JESUS SOON. CAN YOU REMEMBER THE GUY?"
"Wow! You mean he's the one calling?"
"YES!"
"Wow! I can't believe it!" I said as I quickly took the phone and answered the call.
"Hello Mr Paul!"
"Hello! Wait! Did you just mention my name?"
"Sure! It's so good to hear from you again. Why did you forget about me all this while? I was expecting you to call , but you refused!"
"Wait a second! Wait a second!"
"Why are you repeating yourself?" I asked with curiosity.
"Are you telling me that you saved my number on your phone?"
"No! Why would I be telling you I was expecting your call if I had your number? I would have given you a call straight away. But because I didn't have your number, I was left with no choice than to wait for your call, which you finally did."
"I'm still confused."
"About what?"
"If you don't have my number how did you know I was the one calling?"
"Oh! My Dad told me!"
"Your Dad?"
"Sorry, the Holy Spirit told me you were the caller."
"I don't understand. You mean God told you I was calling?"
"Sure! Any problems?"
"You mean he still knows I exist?"
"Haaaaaaaa! What are you saying? Why won't he be aware of your existence?"
"I'm amazed he's still aware of my existence. So you mean he cares about me?
"Of course he does, why won't he?"
"Because I was fed up. I mistakenly voiced out to my wife about your bet on the power of God to heal my sick son. She became a torn in my flesh, begging me to give you a call. So I decided to call and test your Jesus one more time. I want to see if he's not a failure like he used to be.
If ye disgraces me this time around, I'll have nothing to do with him ever again. So you have your opportunity to make your Jesus have my life, or else, I won't ever serve him again.
If he wants me to serve him he'd better heal my son. That's my one and only requirement. If he fails, then he's a liar and a deciever."
"Hold it Mr Paul. Are you sure you're talking about the almighty God, or one magician you pay to do your bidding? Is God at your service or do you see him as an errand boy?"
"Well...."
"My goodness! Who do you take God for? Are you doing him a favour by serving him?"
"Well, serving God has always been preferential. I serve him because I feel like serving and if I don't, I dump him."
"Mr Paul with what you said so far it's obvious you don't need Jesus. Do you think you are doing a favour by accepting Jesus? I mean do you think you are doing Jesus a favour by accepting him? Between you and between Jesus who needs the other person?
If you choose not to serve him does that make him less of who he is? And if you choose to serve him does that add anything to him?"
There was silence as Mr Paul was not able to answer my questions.
"Do you have a Bible there with you?"
"I don't but I'm using an earpiece, so I can open my Bible app."
"Good, now open to Psalm 16 verse 4."
There was a brief silence as I was waiting for him to start the reading.
"Psalms 16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips."
"Those who choose another God multiply their sorrows. So I ask you again are you sure you are doing god a favour by serving him? What makes you to think that you can successfully turn your back on God and have a peaceful life?"
"Madam stop threatening me. Many people out there who have nothing to do with God and they are one of the most successful people on earth. I don't need God to survive and certainly I don't need him for anything.
And for your information I am not going after another God. There are many people who serve no God at all and everything is well with the. They are only God is luck and that luck always speak for them. It's not until you have one God that you must bow down to before you make it in life. You can live a life without any form of religion and live the best kind of life."
"That's the biggest lie on earth. In this world there is only light and darkness. Immediately you turn your back on light you are in the darkness. There's no formality, no swearing in, no devotion and certainly no religious activity to activate your service to the devil.
All you need to do is just to turn your back on God and instantly you belong to the devil. This world is a game of spirits and it's either you are for us or you are against us. Jesus said he that is not with me is against me. And who is against the Gospel of Christ but the devil?
So if I ask you are you on the Lord's side and your answer to me is no. Definitely you are against Jesus, meaning you have taken sides with the devil."
"Young lady listen to me. I am not going to believe that nonsense you are saying. I know myself and I am not serving anything. I not going to serve any God and I'm not going to become a Christian. I'm just in between."
"Mr Paul, there's no in-between in the spirit realm. And for you to stop wasting your time you better believe whatever the Bible says. Because many people are busy saying something to themselves, while the Bible has concluded on their case. A lot of people open their mouth to say I love Jesus. But as far as the Bible is concerned, if you love Jesus you keep his commandments.
So if you love yourself you will do well and subscribe to what the word of God has to say. I need the word of God says there is only light and darkness, the earlier you believe it the better for you. There are only two masters in the universe, God and Satan.
So stop deceiving yourself that you will not serve any god. You will serve the devil because the word of God says he that commits sin is of the devil. So you claim you are not a Christian and you're not a idol worshiper, unknown to you you are a full-time worship out of the devil.
That's so sad. No I want you to read another scripture. Open your Bible to Psalm 73 verse 28."
Soon he read aloud.
"Psalms 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works."
"Now let me ask you this question. It is good for who, God or you? Who will it be good for to draw closer to God?"
"Me!"
"I believe you're familiar with the story of the prodigal son post-op he was living in a luxurious house with his rich Dad. He had everything in some young people are craving for. He had everything one could wish for or desire.
Then suddenly he felt he was not having enough. He concluded the only way to have the best of his youthful exuberance was to get out of the father's house. So he decided to leave and have the blast of his life. Whatever might be his reasons for not satisfied with the father's house, we can't tell. But he got out of the father's house and began to spend everything he had on the pleasures of sin.
That's why many of you fail to realise. You have failed to realise that those living in sin will definitely go bankrupt of grace one day. He got so bankrupt that he lives the worst kind of life. On a norm, it was an abomination for an Israelite to have a pig not to mention eating with pigs. That was how humiliated this prodigal son was.
And according to what the bible has to say, he compared his new life to the one he lived with his maker and God. He saw the difference and arrived at a conclusion that the old was better."
The next thing I heard was Mr Paul crying in the phone.
"Miss Anderson, I understand what you're explaining to me. It's just that I want results so badly and he's not willing to give it to me. I want him to heal my son. I have begged and pleaded with him. I don't know what else to do that I haven't done.
That's the reason why I keep saying of he doesn't come to my rescue, I won't serve him ever again."
"Now you have to define your terms and conditions. Why are you coming to Jesus? Is it because of what you can get from him or you're coming to him because you love him? Are you approaching God because you want healing or because you love him and you want to live for him?
Whether my son is healed or not, I am yours for life. Whether you bless me or not, I will obey you no matter what. Is that why you're here or are you a businessman? Give me what I want and I'll give you what you want. Is that what you're coming here to do?
Are you serving God because of what he can give to you? Are you going to serve him whether he heals your sick sin or not? Are you going to keep fellowshipping with him even when its obvious he hasn't answered your prayers?"
For straight 5 minutes, all that took place was me listening to Mr Paul's tears on the phone.
"The truth is I want to results so badly, but I will do anything you want. It's obvious I'm trying to use God to get what I want. But you want something more than just giving you what I want. He wants a relationship. He wants me and everything that belongs to me.
He's a king, not my errand boy. You can choose to do with me whatever you please. He can choose to heal my son or not, my duty is to serve him.
I have discovered every time I try to serve him because of what I can get. I always end up getting nothing in return. So now I have come to him with no terms and conditions. If all you want is me, he can have me. I am his for life and nothing will ever change that ever again. Whether he answers my prayers or not, I will serve him.
Have decided to follow Jesus and there's no turning back. Justice job said though he slay me I will still trust in him. I will always maintain my ways before the Lord. I am ready to serve him for life."
"JULIET, YOU CAN NOW LEAD HIM TO CHRIST AND PRAY. AS FOR HIS SICK SON, THE BOY IS ALREADY HEALED AS WE SPEAK."
"Can you repeat these words after me?" I asked and with that led him to Christ.

This is the same sickness that has plagued many believers. I call it THE BUSINESS MINDED SICKNESS.
This is what I want from God, if he cannot give me, then I'm not serving him.
There was a question Apostle Paul asked in the bible and I'll love to ask you that same question right now.
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Verse 36. As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Verse 37. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Verse 38. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Verse 39. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What about you? What is that thing that can make you abandon God and stop loving him?
