While Kalla spoke, her body shifted continuously from an ordinary appearance to a skeletal figure surrounded by living shadows, much like what happened in her Wraith form.
"I chose this form not to please the eye or to make friends," she explained when she noticed Lith's surprise. "Being a giant bear makes it really difficult to work with small things, and I can't use spirit magic in front of humans."
"Did you find anything with Invigoration that we could use to develop a cure?" asked Lith.
"Yes and no. You'll understand as soon as you see one of the infected. Is Solus with you?"
Lith showed her his right hand, where a stone ring was wrapped around the cloaking device Solus had created to conceal her existence.
"Smart move. Even from this close, I couldn't perceive her. Pleased to meet you, Solus. I hope one day you'll also show me your human form," said Kalla.
