Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

A week went by and things hadn't exactly been easy for Blaire or those who in the realm that were notified of Alaric's death. But why did he only want her to have his core? Will the book really have the answers she seeks?

Blaire was sat up in bed glancing down at the book that was sitting unread on her lap, silently debating whether to read it or not. Even with her father's voice reminding her of what secrets may lie within here about Dione she doesn't even know about.

"Should I really be doing this when I'm so close to by due date? And this stress isn't expected helping me either" Blaire complained with a quiet groan visibly exhausted and very board after having some time away from her mother, friends and even family. She didn't want the stress to make her labour arrive any sooner or cause possibly complications during birth. Blaire sighed grabbing the diary and slowly opened it doing what every did, read from the very beginning all the way to how she really felt about Alaric, but no one dared to go any closer cause after reading that far Blaire started to tear up knowing that her mother didn't in fact care about her at all. "I need to get through this book.. I need to know why she did this.. Why?" She thought finally turning the page all who failed to do so and achieved more knowledge which then came to a confession.

'I know what I did is wrong, but having a child with a monster is a mistake. She doesn't I mean it doesn't deserve to be a ruler, just look at how she behaves! Filthy, stupid and has no sense in fashion. I regret taking his offer me killing it when I had the chance, but it's too late now. All I can do now is pretend to act like I care about the damn thing, even the people adore her more than my own son! I just need to find a way to escape this nightmare be finally live the life I truly deserve. I need to make them see it for what I see it as... A MONSTER'

This page was enough to make her slam it shut and throw it across the room knocking over some objects creating quiet a loud noise, loud enough to have Dan come up and check on her seeing the mess and Blaire crying on the bed.

"What's the matter?" He asked sitting down on the edge of the bed, until out of the blue she buried herself into his chest continuing to cry it out. He gave Blaire the support she and stayed there waiting for the opportunity to know what has been bothering her, and maybe find a suitable solution around it.

"I'm so sorry! I should've listened to you, she's nothing, but pure evil" she cried clenching into his black shirt continuing to sob away guilty for not trusting his word about this woman at the very beginning.

"Stop apologising, it isn't your fault. None of this is, so please calm down. This stress isn't good for you or the babies" he begged not caring about the apology only about her wellbeing, as she seemed to have calmed down a bit while his eyes glanced over at the book that laid half open from the fall on their bedroom floor, as if calling for him to go over and read it. "That witch needs to pay for what she has done.. Blaire doesn't deserve such cruel treatment and now with Alaric gone I'm the only one left she can depend on" he thought sticking to his gut instinct when meeting her for the first time that day, but that heavy weight was pressed on his shoulders when seeing what that woman really was. A cold hearted beast that kills anyone and anything that gets in her way.

Within the land that was once ruled by Alaric Dex sat on a broken log that was facing towards Severus who had his body leaning against the tree, arms folded browns throwing and teeth tightly clenched together. Something was clearly going on through his mind.

"So what are we going to do now? It isn't like Aelius would take us back knowing your betrayal and my supposed 'death' by Alaric" Dex asked hearing Severus' groan pushing himself off from the tree, unraveling his arms and turned to look at the shifter like there is nothing else they could do without their leader to guide the way.

"Don't you get it, Dex? Alaric is dead, and we're alone with no leader to turn to other than Xander himself, but he isn't exactly leader material. He's too soft when it actually comes to killing someone" Severus complained technically venting to someone who was more likely to rat him out whenever in a serious situation that involved life or death. Dex remained silent shocked and speechless despite himself having a completely different view on Xander than the others, witnessing to things no other can ever forget.

"Soft? Are you sure about that? Because the last time I saw him fight he was on the verge of tearing someone apart for accidentally hurting his wife" Dex gave him his own personal view on the prince having a very confrontational memory that made it clear that he was the one that was close to being torn apart. Those angry golden eyes, sharp daggering teeth and how those sharp gut opening claws could easily slice him apart with ease, the thought terrified him and always will do for the rest of his sleepless nights.

"Hm. What a strange story, but due to my own eyes I don't believe you. I have my reasons" Severus stated standing for his own judgement until there is something that could actually change his mind of how he sees Xander. They sat there in silence having nothing to do and no place to go for safety until an idea came to Dex even though it would lead to his own demise.

"I-uh-Well.. You could always ask Dan. He isn't exactly on terms with Xander and is going out with our leader's daughter, so I guess it's a win-win if you manage to get him to let you anywhere near her being so clue to her due date and all" Dex announced giving at least some ideas where he could go for help, but rest of the information about then is for Severus to find out for himself as he hasn't particularly met this Dan before only mentioned whenever speaking to Alaric who is longer by their side. Severus rolled his eyes with a scoff not taking Dex seriously or falling for any of his tricks, he is always one step ahead of everyone.

"Do you really think I'm that stupid? Alaric already warned me of his power and uncontrollable temper, it's a clear death trap you buffoon" he scolded back turning away from the clown who gritted his teeth in response and stood up from the broken log with clenched fists in hand, but quickly released as he glanced away not allowing this to get to him knowing it'll only make things worse for the both of them.

However, a loud snapping noise came from behind them causing Dex to immediately spin around while Severus remained completely unfazed, as his partner was jumped by a huge black fogged ghost wolf, it had four glowing red eyes, tongue and paw pads as it had sharp huge canine shaped white tusks similar to a saber tooth tiger and retractable jet black claws that could easily slice through anything tough without an issue. It tried to snap and bite at Dex, but he kept his hands on the top and bottom of its jaws preventing it from biting him while saliva began to drip everywhere and onto his face and hands. The mixed deepened haunting growls from this creature was enough to grab Severus' attention as he glanced over his shoulder before spotting Dex in quite a difficult predicament with a Fog Hound, one of the third most dangerous creatures to exist in this realm. He immediately leaped into action a leaped over without a second thought and charged up a powerful fire blast hitting the Fog Hound, as it yelp hurting from the light and slid against the floor before hitting a nearby tree until until into a weird dark like fog that escaped within the darkness.

Dex was almost at the verge of hyperventilating when Severus held out a hand as he took the offer and was pulled back up. Their eyes remained glued to the darkness it retreated to probably in search of some companions and ambush them if they decide to stuck around any longer.

"Come on, let's get going before that thing decides to bring more buddies and host a goddamn tea party" Severus stated walking off as Dex quickly followed after him not exactly wanting to get bit by one of those things, as their bite can do several things once the venom is injected. Sleep paralysis, but even if you see them they're also around you within the real world so death is inevitable. Nausea, if not much is injected like a little graze from the teeth will cause dizzy side effects, heart palpitations, fast heart rate and possibly death if the venom isn't extracted or you'll most likely die either slowly or by a heart attack if lucky enough. Internal bleeding, this is only possible if the claws or tusks puncture your body having their own venom to prevent clotting and internal burning, so you'll bleed in and out uncontrollably while it feels like the inside of your body is on fire until nothing is left giving them a nice warm drink.

Aelius' POV:

If the rumours are true I might as well celebrate, but that isn't the victory I wanted. Who killed my enemy? That was my job, so I shall find them and take what they've stolen from me. His core and godly power on creation shall be mine!

I sat around the meeting table with my neighbouring kingdoms and their leaders who chose to join under my leadership chatting amongst one another, but one is missing there always is. Claudius seems to be running late along with his youngest son who soon once both are at the right age will marry one of my daughters, only the best one shall be chosen, even though the ceremony has been put on hold for now and once all of this is done it shall finally choose who will follow after my lead and take my empire to greater heights.

"Any word of Claudius?" I questioned in a serious tone while leaning my head impatiently against my hand that had its elbow firmly rested on the table while my other hand tapped its index finger against the wood, as the entire room fell silent forcing their eyes to look only at me. "Well?" I added slightly lifting my hand that was tapping against the table waiting eagerly for a response from at least one of them, I don't care what it is I need to know where or what he's doing or maybe why he's so late.

"Well, you see.. Um" one of the female leaders became anxious frantically glancing around at the other leaders for any assistance until a male stood up, dark purple in his skin complexion, black long flowing hair that was tied into a plat, green eyes and battle scars as one is visible on his jawbone through his goatee. He was not exactly a threat to me, but a rather valuable asset compared to the others, after I married his sister allowing our empires to come together in peace.

"Allow me to speak for all of us Aelius, but I do not think we should wait for someone who is incapable of showing up to one of the most important meetings that will determine the possible fate of our world" he stated standing tall and confident with hands kept behind his back maintaining a good posture in front on their ring leader. I hummed slightly amused by their response knowing he is only stating facts and truth, while glancing around seeing how silent and scared the others were to protest against me which is oddly satisfying to watch.

"I guess you aren't particularly wrong, but he's a huge asset to my plan. I do not wish to loose a expensive chunk from my empire" I added glaring my eyes back at him seeing how easy it was to intimidate them with only a look, but that isn't what I want right now. I need ideas, as a war is soon going to break loose across all lands that are involved with the Ice Land or that cursed place Alaric always thrived in isolation.

Suddenly the huge dark brown doors to our meeting room swung open allowing Claudius to seriously stomp inside. All of our heads immediately spun around to stare at him, it was pretty clear that he was indeed in a bad mood and sat down near me.

"Took you long enough, Claudius. I guess that means we can finally get this meeting started, as for all you know our home is in great danger thanks to Alaric and his death by his unknown killer. War is still waging on between his son a very dangerous threat along with that family of his, so any ideas on how we can deal with them before we're next on their kill list?" I questioned brining up a huge holographic see through map of our entire world as a whole, it was beautiful like always, but there is always something stopping it from becoming all mine. Xander has to be taken out or I'll lose more than power at this point.

"Ideas? He's literally the weakest one after the others mysteriously disappeared hundreds of years ago. I say we go over there and do it ourselves, together as a group" there he goes again wanting to always have us do something our warriors were trained to do, it's their main purpose. We are leaders and never leave the kingdom to crumble in the hands of our failing companions and people.

"Together? Are you trying to get us killed? He is a beast, an absolute monster just like his father!" One of the female leaders yelled in fear clearly the weakest one of us all, but if we all do go there Xander is done for. However, we need to come up with a plan to ensure nothing goes wrong, if we do intend to go over there ourselves and finish the job properly.

"Then it's settled, all who wants to go to war stand before your chairs and join me to take out their merciless leader!" I announced standing up tall from my chair as most over half stood up without hesitation while the others remained sat, confused of what to do, but none of them had a choice or they won't have protection from any of the conflict.

No one's POV:

The decision has been done, those outvoted were forced to comply and do what their boss ordered. Preparing the strongest ones to go and do the unthinkable and destroy the Ice Clan once and for all.

Aelius along with 5 others banded together and took flight towards the Ice Lands, while maintaining cover by flying within the clouds taking no breaks or stops.

Within the Ice Clan Xander was training in the arena with one of his comrades, when out of nowhere a huge explosion shook the entire area almost knocking them off their feet, as some of the buildings almost feel from how power it was.

"What the heck was that?" a polar bear asked rushing over to Xander who was equally as confused until a huge clump of dark smoke began to travel towards the sky forcing them to rush through the building until they got outside. Everything was surrounded by smoke, his friends fighting those who were apart of the council, blood was everywhere, but how could they be left unnotified of such an attack?

"Sound the alarm! We're under attack?!" Xander called out as he quickly rushed home with everything he had until bursting through, seeing them cowering in the back of the living room huddling together. His family wasn't ready to be apart of this nor will he allow it to happen, before going over to his wife that held his daughter who was crying absolutely afraid of what's happening outside. "You're no longer safe here, so I'm getting you out of here. Just search for my sister and hope she's able to help you until I stop all of this nonsense" he calmly said opening a portal behind him wanting them to go through without him. This only made Isabel upset at the brink of tears not wanting to lose him, as their children needed a father figure in their life and no other would do.

"NO! You need to come with us, I don't want to lose you as well. Our children need you" she begged as another huge explosion hit nearby causing the house to shake and slowly start to crumble above them. He glances us seeing how little time they have left until this place completely gives in and covers them all in rubble, so the unthinkable came to mind and grabbed his wife forcefully pulling her towards the portal along with the sons noticing how serious the situation they're in has gotten. "Stop it! I don't want to go there, the humans will hurt me" Isabel screamed in fear believing the evil tales that had been spoken about the mortals within this real, but not all of them are so mean.

"Quit tolerating, I'm trying to save your life and not every human is evil! Your stupid mother just makes you believe they are, so you wouldn't see the truth about how they could possibly coexist with us here if we only just work together!" Xander argued back just inches from getting her inside when they exchanged soft sadden glances before he closed his eyes while turning his head away in pain for doing this, and pushed her through along with their children allowing the portal to close shut behind them now stuck in a realm they know absolutely nothing about.

While on the other side Xander shook off the hurt and rushed outside to confront the ones responsible for such a roofless attack. He slowed down when hearing everyone screaming as blood, dead ripped apart or gutted corpses could be visible no matter where you turn it was a freaking war zone. Then did Xander spot one of his closest friends get jumped on by Aelius as they brawled head to head as xander started to head over in their direction wanting to help them quickly, but when he got half way Aelius spotted the target and quickly ended the match with the polar bear like it was nothing. Straight through its heart knowing it'll fully die within minutes of bleeding out completely, as their body hit the ground with an echoing thud forcing Xander to slow down before suddenly speeding up dashing straight at him screaming, Aelius did the exact same with only one intention in mind claws and fangs out ready to tear each other apart.
