Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Xander's POV:

I felt myself slowly waking up regaining my strength at a steady pace which is awful along with the aching pain my body is left in after that bastard's cheating move to try and take my core for his own personal use. I'm glad he missed or Blaire would be in for quite a fight if she hasn't managed to awaken her innself since the last time we met. I do miss her, and my family, but I need to see them and get answers on how my father was killed. Who was his killer? And did he put up a fight?

I slowly blinked my eyes open before slowly sitting up with an aching groan holding a hand against my head. My eyes slowly scanned the area not recognising the room I was in, it was surely comfy, cool and icy which means someone within the clan must've saved me. There was no door due to everything around me being ice, wood and anything you would normally have in a home, minus the ice if you aren't a polar bear. loud footsteps could be heard marching their way towards the room I was in until seeing that familiar dark fluffy fur as they stopped once we made eye contact.

"Gus?" I confusingly and yet surprisingly called out his name seeing those eyes lit up when hearing my voice allowing him to rush in and tackle hug me, he was big, scary looking, but really he has a heart of gold. I hugged the fluffball with the same amount of strength clearly missing him as I am unaware of how long I've been out for it could've been days or possibly weeks at best.

"Oh I'm so glad you're alright! The others are going to be so happy when they find out you survived" he excitedly announced before pulling back giving me the opportunity to breath from such a tight bear hug. I slid myself to the edge of the bed touching my feet against the cold ice floor seeing that I was in fact half naked covered in bandages, stuck in my pants in front of my second in command.

"How long was I out for? And how many did they kill?" worry over too me as I immediately started asking questions, standing up on my own without an issue and grabbed ahold onto my clothes that were folded on a chair that was in the room. He was nervous to respond at first until clearing his throat before finally speaking.

"We long more than half of our population, but do not worry you've only been out for a few days" Gus took more seriousness in the fact that their population had dropped significantly thanks to Aelius' selfish attempt to kill me and put them permanently in extinction. My eyes widened when hearing this huge news about my clan, like my nap meant nothing to me which it didn't.

"More than half?! This is bad, everyone needs to stay here until we can stabilise everything up there and the population or your kind will go bye bye way before this war can even end" I was serious with my order and he knew how important these people are to me, and losing them means I also lose a huge part of who I am, and being the leader means I put them first before anything else.

"Yes, sir. But I also suggest you stay here as well, it's for the best since your father mysteriously died leaving us with no protection and the human realm completely exposed" Gus replied along with a very serious problem if Aelius were to find out that he can now go to the human realm without any issue. My wife and my last remaining family is now in even more danger than I had expected, I need to warn them before it's too late.

"I cannot stay, I must go and warn my sister before Aelius dare to hurt anymore innocent lives. I am putting you in charge until I get back" I told him my intentions and he understood allowing me to quickly depart through a portal to the human realm with a message and to prepare them for when he dare decides to show up. It was bright as day as I began to followed from where my wife was last dropped off within this world possibly telling her where Blaire lived would've helped, but it's a bit too late now even if seeing Dan again I only hope he learned from his last lesson or there will be a problem.

I landed outside of Blaire's home and let myself in it was clear that my presence was soon known when both of my sons came out of nowhere and hugged me tightly, I scooped them up in my arms missing them all so dearly.

"Aunty Blaire had 3 babies!" Killian exclaimed excitedly telling me some very exciting news as they both sat on both of my arms, Kylo nodded frantically in response confirming this to be no joke. I am finally an uncle.

"Oh really? And where are these babies?" I asked appearing elated as Killian pointed upstair feeling an intense set of eyes staring down at me, forcing me to look up the stair spotting Dan stood there with his arms folded in his human form as we met eye contact.

"Xander" Dan spoke in a stern tone maintaining eye contact and the confident that I originally took from him, but it won't be long until I remind him who the real alpha is around here. Well not here as it is my sister, and I respect her and her wishes unless they're stupid and could get someone hurt or worse killed.

"Dan" I sternly replied back returning the same greeting until Isabel emerged beside him taking me completely off guard. Unharmed, healthy and still as beautiful from the day I thought I had lost her. She appeared worried noticing bandages on visible part of my body knowing that I have been in a very intense fight, but I am rather not worry her by telling who caused such horrific scars.

No one's POV:

"Nice scar. It looks good on you" Dan sarcastically spoke with a cocky grin knowing Xander wouldn't dare hurt him while under Blaire's roof, but with the babies close by as well he didn't want to risk any of them getting hurt if they were to fight.

"Thanks.." Xander grumpily accepted his compliment as Dan walked off winning so far and went to check back on the triplets and his beloved who were currently resting on the bed in the bedroom he shared with her, it was the cutest thing he has ever seen. Dan sat down on the other side enjoying some peace until Dante started crying waking Blaire up as she picked him up, pulling out her breast and started to feed shutting him up immediately, leaving the father to stare intrigued from the sideline.

"Uhh.. Your brother is here by the way, I think he wants to see the babies" Dan spoke announcing the news as she half sleepingly looked at him while Dante continued to hungrily suck from her nipple.

"Like right now? In our house?" she confusingly asked trying to wake herself up from constantly napping for the past couple of days under the care of her loving boyfriend and family. Dan nodded when the bedroom door slowly creaked open quickly making him cover Blaire's chest with the blanket in the nick of time. Isabel opened it with Xander stood behind her keeping the children from entering.

"You could've knocked, she was in the middle of breastfeeding" Dan stated in a serious tone when both men glared at one another in silence after hearing harmless instruction for next time if the door was closed, as anything could be happening behind that door.

"I apologise for the rudeness little sister, I'm just excited to be an uncle and wish to see them. May I?" Xander was oddly formal which hasn't happened before causing her some confusion on what is happening, but brushed it off despite being half asleep.

"Yeah, they're sleeping, so be quiet" Blaire replied as he headed inside while Isabel took the twins elsewhere to not wake the babies or cause a scene if one of them were to get fussy. Xander walked over noticing only two babies despite hearing that she was expecting triplets, but the movement under the blanket explained the breastfeeding so he paid attention to Rex and Ava.

"They're absolutely adorable little things, it only makes me want to have more" Xander said planning to have another baby with his wife when ready, but right now wasn't exactly the time. "Oh, and that reminds me. I have some unfortunate news involving our home realm and this one which is next" he added changing the atmosphere very quickly appearing very serious when getting straight to the point, as Dan lowly growled not wanting any of it.

"Shut it, I don't want you to put any stress on her or our children. So zip it or I'll do it myself" Dan growled making Blaire wrap her one arm around his stopping him immediately and laid back, but his eyes filled with anger remained pinned on Xander.

"I'm sure it's nothing too serious right, Xander?" Blaire asked trying to ease down the intensity between them finished feeding Dante so nothing was revealed when the blanket fell from her chest, and turned her head to look at her big brother who stood there in silence.

"I am terribly sorry to say this, but this realm is in great danger. Aelius once he finds out the veil has been broken, will attack and kill everything within it just like he did to my home. That is why I'm here to train you all for when he arrives, as working together might give us the advantage we need to end this war before it spreads to interdimensional" Xander confessed giving them the full intel of what is expected to happen as he refuses to let this world go to waste, it needs help and fast. Dan turned to look at Blaire who was just as surprised, not wanting this future for their children or for anyone who didn't deserve such a cruel fate.

"Train? So you're preparing us to fight against them? Your father would've done a better job, no offence as he's a very powerful and intelligent beast. He's more suitable for when it comes to this kind of stuff, but thanks to some crazy ghost lady we're all going to die" Dan vented angering Xander either way when mentioning the one who showed him the way through life, but exhaled not allowing it to get the better of him in front of his sister.

"Why don't you both go and train then? I'll be fine on myself with the triplets, and be nice! I don't want to be the one getting my hands dirty" Blaire stated along with a warning for the both of them to follow, as Dan got up feeling the intense energy emit from Xander and how much he wanted to let it out and fight, but with that blind eye it'll be quite hard at first.

"We will, don't you worry. I'll make sure he comes back in one piece" Xander chuckled as if making a joke when opening a portal to a private secluded world his father once showed him, a place filled with no living life and yet trees, flowers and vegetation thrived, but it was no ordinary world. It has intense gravity, and can withstand any amounts of power that is emitted from the fights so far. "This is where we're all going to be training, a secret place no one is going to interrupt us for the time being" he said cracking his fists and neck while Dan did the same not caring about what is around them, this fight there were having was more than training, but something far more personal. "Are you ready?" Xander asked with a smirk distancing himself from Dan who huffed with an excited grin and got ready for a very intense fighting session.

"Of course I'm ready, but this time I don't intend to hold back" Dan replied quickly turning his expression to seriousness within seconds, ready to prove that he was indeed worthy of Xander's father's approval.

Halfway through the training Dan was grabbed and aggressively thrown into the ground from over 40 feet in the air, leaving a trail behind him as he slowly got up with a little aching groan, while  crumbles of dirt fell off him as he began to stretch his neck and jaw.

"Come on, I know you can do far more than that! What are you going to do if Aelius hurts her and the triplets? Cry? NO! Get the fuck up and fight back with everyone you've got?!" Xander roared as he continued to float several feet in the sky from where Dan was booted into the ground.

"GRRR!" Dan loudly growled in frustration and darting an angered glare over his shoulder at Xander, who felt the rage pent up within those glowing red eyes. A grin emerged on his face when seeing such beastly rage pent up, ready to explode knowing a good fight was coming, and it was inevitable for him to escape such a potential improvement.

"That's more like it" he thought finally getting the fight he wanted out of him, seeing a huge potential dwelling within Dan and wishes to pull it out of him before the day arrives.

Dan clawed the ground and slowly turned around dragging it with him, leaving a mark behind as he shot up like a bullet at Xander tackling him midair loudly growling, and threw him with the same force into the ground.

Xander bursted out with a belly laugh within the crater his body had made from the impact. Dan just glared down at him having none of this, and shot down with a fist full of green plasma energy hitting Xander straight in the gut, before delivering a range of powerful blows deepening the crater they were in, the ground rumbled, crumbled and shook violently with every punch that met Xander's body.

Once done Dan stood over him and grabbed his ripped furred shirt, seeing Xander's blue blooded face still smirking as he pulled him closer face to face forcing eye contact.

"Don't you fucking dare talk about my family like you know them! I could've killed you for it, you idiot" Dan growled still wanting to beat the crap out of him over and over again. It's clear they didn't like each other, but what other choice do they have? The end of the world is coming and they have to be prepared to fight against the inevitable.

"It was worth.. a try" Xander struggles to reply and turned his head spotting out some of his blue blood on the ground, as Dan released him allowing the body to fall backwards with a thud. Xander groaned cracking his neck and jaw from the beating he had been given, having a few minutes to collect himself before they decide to go for another round and equal things out. Dan mumbled to himself walking around waiting to let out his anger on the one of many people, who tried to ruin his reputation and relationship with Blaire.

"Stupid fucking cunt.." Dan cussed under his breath walking around with a hand near his chin, as Xander got up ready to fight again in hopes of winning without being repeatedly demolished by an outsider.

Back in the human realm Blaire was up and about tending to the triplets individually, while pumping out milk using a breast pump for later as she only has two breasts, so it was only fair or one child will be left out waiting for food which is just cruel.

"Easy down you three, there's enough for all of you" Blaire said finally successfully pumping a full bottle and started feeding each baby individually, burping after every stomach is full laying them back down in their cots. With all satisfied she finally had the chance to sit down within the triplets room on a stable rocking chair having a short rest while the boys are gone training for who knows how long, could be days until they come back, but Blaire wasn't complaining without the lads arguing or scrapping around the house.

A few days passed Xander, Dan and Danny haven't returned back from training yet, and things for a first time mother of triplets started to become increasingly easier with or without any assistance. She was more in than out of the room admiring what she had given life to, even if it means sending back some flashbacks to when her first born was once alive.

"When do you think the boys will be back?" Isabel asked walking into the triplets beautifully decorated room, filled with both boy and girl colours, bookcases, toy boxes and fluffy carpet for when they start crawling about. Blaire slightly turned to look at them as Isabel walked towards the separated cots admiring the beautiful ghostly hybrid babies, as the boys shared their mother's blue eyes leavin the girl to have her father's scarlett red eyes quite a wild sight indeed.

"To be honest I have absolutely no clue, but don't worry. If we need them I'm sure they'll come to our aid in no time flat" Blaire replied sounding rather calm having her own attention taken by the babies 24/7 so the days go rather quickly, not a dull moment. She yawned with a huge stretch tired for that afternoon wishing to have at least a few hours to nap before their last feed for the night. "But for now, I wish to have a nice little power nap" she added sitting down on the rocking chair as Isabel walked away from the cots stopping in front of Blaire who was ready to power down.

"I'll leave you be, I promised the boys we'd go for a walk. In their human disguises of course" Isabel said before leaving the room, slowly shutting the door after them keeping that silence and warmth within the room, as Blaire yawned again until slowly drifting into a comfortable slumber forgetting everything about Aelius or the warning Xander had given her in advance, but as of right now she knew she was incapable of fighting due to exhaustion and a full time mother.

Within her nap a distant shaking slowly woke Blaire until going back to sleep taking it as nothing. Before a few moments after when a huge explosion along with a massive earthquake like shake violently woken Blaire from her slumber gripping onto the rocking chair, as the triplets started to cry loudly while the place started to slowly crumble. Bit of debris fell from the ceiling about to fall on one of the triplets when she shot up and shielded them with her body, taking a hard bonk on the hair from the debris opening a slight wound from how heavy and sharp it was.

"T-this can't be happening.. It must be a horrible nightmare, right?" Blaire questioned herself using the triplets seperate blankets to tie them supportively around her body, putting in their pacifiers and quickly evacuated the dangerously unstable building. Leaving out from the back a strong smell of smoke hit her senses to realisation, Aelius has arrived and there is no one here who can stop them from taking over the human realm. "Dan.. Where are you?" she thought in a panic keeping her babies safe from any and all dangers that dare to come across her, taking the safe approach by hiding away for their own good. Knowing it won't take long for someone to arrive and change the stakes, chasing these creatures back to where they came from.

"Hm? What was that feeling?" Dan muttered to himself staring at his dirty hands like something had called out to him, a surge of desperation distracted him from whatever he was doing. When out of nowhere Xander tackled him like a wild animal still sparring until noticing the sudden change in his behaviour, as he was shoved off from him clearly uninterested.

"Why aren't you training? We need to become stronger!" Xander growled not liking the sight of noncommitment to training for a possibly life changing fight, but it didn't take long for himself to feel this strange connection tingle within him. Yet only he knew what it meant. "FUCK! Why didn't you tell me they were invading?!" he randomly yelled causing Dan's gaze to dart up at him until a more powerful surge came from knowing that it wasn't by pure coincidence, but a call for help from his family.

"We need to head back, she needs me. They need me!" Dan yelled looking directly at Xander when Danny landed near the two, confused on why they were yelling instead of training. Dan's eyes darted down at the boy for a second until back at Xander who brought them here to train, and their only way out. "Are you getting us out of here or not?" he impatiently growled wanting to tear him apart for wasting such valuable time, the longer they had to wait.

"What do you think I'm doing? You daft, dead fuck?!" Xander roared snapping at Dan as Danny groaned placing a hand on this face as it slowly slid down, while the two argued back and forth without a possible resolution.

"So can someone tell me what's happening?" Danny asked already knowing the outcome as their glares darted at the lad, he stood there shocked either way feeling their anger, worry and pain.

"Dan here has been getting a warning signal from his beloved for the past 10 fucking minutes and didn't tell me jack shit?! Now thanks to him, everyone is probably dead!" Xander vented glaring between the two while putting all of the blame on Dan, even though he too was getting those signals from his own beloved and children.

"So for the past 10 minutes you've been stalling by arguing with him, instead of the fact that we could've resolved all of this if only you had made a goddamn portal to begin with! Use your brain, if you even have one" Danny stepped up for Dan who was a little surprised at first, but accidentally snickered when Xander was left offended by the boy's insult. As he huffed creating a portal to Isabel's last location where she sent a distress signal, they jumped through just to be met with flames, smoke and pure destruction in every direction they turn. "No.." he muttered distraught at the damage that had been done in their absence. The others two were just as baffled, left wondering when this attack had originally first started. No life could be seen for miles completely destroyed without shown any mercy, it was dead silent, so silent you could hear your own lungs functioning, as your heart beating loudly within centre of your chest like a drum.
