When Anna woke up, so many questions was going through her mind. First how would she be able to deal with Marcos option of she going to a cemetery party with him? She didn't want to be near him and, rejecting the request would bring more trouble to her.
The only option left for her was going to the party as no matter how she would try to avoid him, he will somehow find his way to her.
Turning to the other side of bed, Anna scanned the environment to look for the wings she had kept there. She could not find them as it was nowhere to be found.
She turned to look at Victoria who had just woken up from her sleep.
"Good morning." Victoria greeted.
"Did you see the wings I kept here?" Anna pointed to where she had kept it.
"No." Victoria paused. "You had wings?"
"Yes. Elizabeth gave them to me the other day I went out hunting with them." Anna replied.
"I haven't seen any wings. Maybe some servants might have come here to steal it." She stood up from and left.
Anna pursed her lips, thinking of who might have taken the wings. There was no body who could have come into the room to steal the wings. As much as she do not want to keep the wings with her, it was a gift to her from Elizabeth and she would have to cherish it. But now it was nowhere to be found.
Once she was done with her morning routine, she stepped out of the room. Her hands clutched by the side of her dress as she walked down the corridor. As she walked, she caught sight of the door close to Marcos room that slowly opened and a young maid came outside.
What was a maid doing in the Master's room when it was not time for breakfast?, Anna thought. Walking behind her was Lucian who had a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
When he caught glance of Anna, the smile on his face widened. The maid who was walking in front of him hid her face in embarrassment. Someone already caught her coming from Lucian's room and it felt awkward.
"Walking...?" Lucian smiled at Anna.
"Good morning, Master Lucian." She bowed her head.
"You must be enjoying the morning breeze, aren't you?" He walked up to her. "I haven't seen you since we went hunting. Have you been in this Mansion since?"
"Yes." Anna nodded. "I was running somethings with Young Master Marcos which took most of my time."
"Things like what?" He asked her.
"I followed him to the council." She replied.
"Ohh I see." He continued to nod his head.
Anna who was still smiling moved her eyes to the maid's neck where there was a small wound like bite mark. Her heart sank into her chest when she saw how deep the mark was. It was as if a feral animal had bitten her. But there was no animal in this Mansion. Who bit her so hard?
When Lucian noticed Anna's eyes on the maiden's neck, he dragged her shirt upward to cover the wound.
"Are you alright, Clara?" Anna asked the maiden who looked excited like as if nothing had happened. If Anna was the one with this wound, she would have skipped work until her wound was completely heal. There were traces of blood on the maiden's gown.
"Yes." Clara smiled. "Did something happen?"
Anna was unable to push the disturbing sight of the wound which looked very deep even though it was small.
"You sure? Do you not feel pains in anywhere?" Anna asked, making Lucian tilt his head.
"I am fine. I am surprised you are asking me such as we haven't talked before." Clara said.
"Sorry I was just curious about something." Anna laughed a bit making the maid eye her from head to toe.
"Clara why don't you go and join the maiden's prepare breakfast?" Lucian said to the maid and she nodded before leaving with a smile.
Turning to Anna, the smile on his face fell down. "Is something the matter with you?"
"I thought I saw a bite mark on her neck." Anna scratched the back of her head.
"Look into my eyes." Lucian grabbed her chin gently.
"Yes....?"
"You see nothing. There was no bite mark on her neck. Now leave." Lucian muttered.
She quickly bowed her head and left immediately. Why were the Windsor family acting strange? It was as if they were hiding a dark secret.
As she walked to the kitchen, she was in deep thoughts of what had happened just now. Did he just tell her that she saw nothing?
She found the wound on Clara's neck very disturbing. The energy she had in her to do work, vanished all of a sudden at the thought of it.
Should she ask the maid? But then again, she and the maid had never talked or do anything before. It would be weird if her to ask her what had happened on her neck.
Deciding to keep her mouth shut, she forced herself to wash the dishes.
