"Please the girls who dropped their silver orbs should take their seats."
The chancellor turns to us with a proud look on her face.
"I'm proud to tell you sixty students with the golden orb that you have been chosen to participate in the queen challenge and I also officially announce to everyone that the king is set to choose his bride. Whoever wins the challenge emerges as his Queen".
Wow, I am shocked. The chancellor's face became serious as she continues,
"From now on, you sixty students will have no interaction with the opposite sex, until after the contest is over or else you will be killed. You all have fourteen days to train before the competition proper and I demand hard work in all seriousness. You will no longer be attending class but only the training ground, so be prepared. Meet me at the training ground at 6:30 am tomorrow" She urged, calling me to her office before leaving the hall.
Once I got to her office, I made my way inside after a knock. She motions me to sit. I settled down in a chair opposite her and without spearing me a glance she acknowledged,
"You were given four days to go home but now, I can only give you two since you are among the chosen. I will let your Alpha know about the new development..." I cut her off immediately.
"Please don't tell him" hiding the fear in my eyes so she doesn't catch on.
"I want to break the news myself" I explained, forcing a smile but am sure she suspects something. I see it in her eyes.
"Okay but make sure you get back here within the two days I gave you".
"Yes, ma'am," I assured her. I got up to leave after she was done with me, and getting to the door, she called me again.
"Maya!"
"Am glad you were chosen, make sure you don't waste it." She smiled, focusing back on her laptop.
"Yes, ma'am" I shut the door behind me, shuffling back to my dorm to deal with all the emotions seeking my attention. I can't believe I was chosen.

{"Third person pov"}
It's been a roller coaster of six days of intense training. The chosen were not allowed to do anything except to train. They were kept isolated from the rest of the school training and learning ways to win the challenges coming to them. Maya being a strong wolf is not new to training but for Aliya, though she tries to be tough and concentrate, she is still no match for the wolf kind. At night, instead of sleeping with the rest, she was training harder. This helped her march up with the rest.
Maya, being on her way home for the coronation, isn't so pleased because of her hatred for the new Alpha and pack.
Leroy is one of the people who has made her life a living hell, as he has tried severally to have his way with her, but was rejected continuously together with his two sisters Anna and Elisa who uses every opportunity to beat and insult her.
'Alpha my foot' she mumbles as she gets closer to the mansion, taking in the beauty of the forest, the green sparkly tall trees which shadowed the sun and the movement of the beautiful flowers blowing fresh breeze to her face. She enjoyed the peace of nature, closing her eyes.
Her pack was beautiful, it's a huge mansion with tall walls surrounding it and beautiful long windows putting more beauty to the building. She inhales, waving goodbye to her freedom because from there on, it was going to be hell.
"We are here ma'am," The driver said, stopping the car in front of the mansion. Maya climbed down, took her duffle bag and strolled inside after paying the driver, and was immediately greeted with beauty. The maids and workers were already decorating for the coronation.
She walks into the sitting room meeting Alpha Joseph and his family eating together and laughing as they discuss. A pang of sadness ran through her, remembering her parents. She used to be an only child but now she's lonely with no one to care for or show love to her.
"Well look who we have here," Elisa said out loud, catching the attention of everyone and Maya immediately greeting them.
"Good evening Alpha and Luna" and just then, a scent hit her nostrils, it was sandalwood and vanilla, her wolf became excited as Maya looked in the direction the scent came from and immediately Locked eyes with the owner. His fiery sparkly green eyes bore into her soul as her wolf howled at the back of her head in excitement "MATE".
Leroy looked away immediately not wanting others to find out what had happened, he already has someone and intends to make her his Luna. Maya tilted her head down in disappointment.
"Well get to work, '' Joseph's wife scolded, causing Maya to bow immediately, scurrying out of the room into her small tiny room. It has a tiny bed, a tiny wardrobe and a small stool just by the bed and the room painted brown with polka dots designs. Maya changed into something suitable for house chores and joined others in decorating.
Soon, she was called into the kitchen to make dinner alone for the whole pack. It was a lot of work but Maya was used to it. She tried her best to finish quickly and hide in her room not wanting anyone to meet her there. As she prepared the beef and mushrooms with mashed potatoes, Leroy unexpectedly walks in, smirking devilishly,
"Hello mate," he declared mockingly and locked the door taking slow steps towards her. Maya stiffened to the familiar voice, she has been avoiding this moment all day.
Leroy might be her mate but she knows it was never going to work, she wasn't one of those who dwelled in fantasies about their mate and although her wolf was nagging all day in her head, she wasn't going to give in, she won't let anyone humiliate her not when she was aware Leroy had someone already. Days were gone when mates were sacred.
Now her kind chooses who they want and marks them, mate or not. She turned around looking down as Leroy stood in front of her.
"Well well well, it seems the moon goddess wants me to have you afterall" He chuckled.
"Look at me" He ordered, causing Maya to quiver but slowly looking up at him.
Seeing the disgust in his eye, it broke her heart as tears betrayed her, Leroy moved closer closing the gap between them and nibbling on her left ear loop, whispering.
"First of, never mention us to anyone or else I will kill you. Secondly, hurry and take a bath and wait in my room" he instructed and started kissing her neck, sending a brief sensation to her body. It felt good that she couldn't resist but looking up into his eyes, she was disappointed to see the pure lust and disgust in them. Leroy closed his eyes controlling himself and stomped out of the kitchen, after pushing her to the floor.
She hit the ground crying, now she was sure he didn't want her but her body. She picked herself up and continued with the dish.
When done, she served them, cleared the kitchen and took off to her room. She would be dead if anyone finds her there.
Sitting on her bed, she picked up her bag and searched for her orb and when she found it, she held it in her hand, staring at it like her life depended on it. What was she going to do, she was one of the chosen but now her mate wants to have her, how will she escape this? Of course, she didn't want to submit her virginity to Leroy who didn't deserve it and besides she was going to be killed if the king found out she wasn't a virgin.
She kept mumbling to herself about what to do. With what she saw in Leroy's eyes back then, she knew sleeping with him was no longer a matter of choice to her, it was his right and he would make sure to take it. Tears began streaming from her eyes again. She was so scared and confused as she kept crying.
Not knowing how long she's been crying, Leroy forcefully pushed her door open causing her to jump in fear and her orb falling to the floor, rolling until it stopped just in front of him.
She panicked immediately when Leroy picked the orb, staring at it with so much anger.
"You whore" He growled at her, "You want to be queen don't you?" He sneered and continued, "Who told you a slave like you can be queen?" There was so much anger in his voice that Maya couldn't dare say a word. She was so scared, shivering in the corner of the room. She has never seen Leroy this angry before.
"Well since you want to be queen, let's see" He threw the orb on her bed and tugged her by the wrist tightly dragging her to his room...
