Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Ezra walked to the living room holding two steaming cups of instant noodles. "I hope you like spicy noodles," he said excitedly dropping one of the noodles in front of Arthur.

"I have a high spice tolerance," Arthur said, taking the noodles from the table. There was half a soft-boiled egg inside as well. "Thank you," he said.

"You're welcome," Ezra said and they ate in silence.

Arthur was still a bit hungry by the time they were done eating, but he didn't complain. Ezra patted his stomach in fulfillment.

"So... How were you before Mr. Dumas found you?" Ezra asked.

"Huh?"

"You know since the accident that happened, you disappeared without a trace," Ezra said, awkwardly playing with his hand. He doesn't know if this will bring back bad memories to Arthur since the Gavon couple, Arthur's parents, died in an accident.

He decided it wasn't worth asking Arthur this question. "Forget that I asked," he said.

"No, it's fine," Arthur replies in a carefree tone. "I was taken in by my dad's older brother," he said. "You've met him before."

"I have?" Ezra replies, checking his memories for someone who might look like Mr. Gavon, there was no one though.

"Yes," Arthur replies. "Remember that scary man that came to pick up one time that the teacher thought a gangster and she threatened to call the police?"

Ezra's eyes widened. "He's actually your uncle," he said then he began laughing. "I remember crying and refusing to let you go because I thought he was going to you know..." Ezra acting out himself getting cut in the neck. "Bleh."

Arthur laughed a lot. "He's actually nicer than he looks trust me," he said, holding his stomach.

Ezra didn't believe him and he showed it on his face. "Whatever you say," he said.

"So what about you?" Arthur said. "What happened to you after I disappeared without a trace?"

Ezra wondered if he should tell Arthur that he was an omega and what he went through that night. He would find out at some point, so it is better to tell him than for him to find out accidentally and make things awkward between them.

"Well," Ezra said. "I differentiated into Omega in the middle of a party," he said sadly.

Arthur's mouth opened agape. Ezra's an Omega! That's what was ringing in his head. He was cheering and celebrating internally as well.

Ezra was waiting for a response from Arthur but he got none. Arthur was in a daze. "Are you okay?" he asked waving his hand in front of Arthur's face snapping him out of his daze. Ezra was a bit worried. 'Did I make the right choice telling him this early?' he thought.

Arthur saw that Ezra looked quite worried. He must be thinking negative thoughts. He rubs his hair and grins at him. "That's great," he said.

"Really?" Ezra said in relief.

"Yes," Arthur said drawing his hand back. "I was surprised, but I'm actually happy you told me," he said.

Ezra laughed happily and jumped on Arthur, wrapping his hands around his neck and hugging him tightly. "You such a good friend."

'Friend... Friend... Friend...' That echoed in Arthur's mind. 'Right, I'm friend,' he thought frowning, before lightly patting his back. "Were you worried that I would judge you or something?" he said.

Ezra released him and shook his head lightly. "To be honest, I didn't know what to expect," he said.

"Thank you for telling me," he said. "Also you aren't uncomfortable with me being an Alpha, right?"

"No, not at all" Ezra replied. He's been okay with Arthur being an Alpha since he was treating him nicely.

"Are you sure I shouldn't escort you further?" Ezra suggested when they were outside the apartment building.

"There's no need," Arthur replies, smiling at him gently. "Bye," he said.

Ezra waved as he watched Arthur leave. He returned to his apartment, and it felt a bit empty all of a sudden.

He lays down on the couch. Arthur wore a scent patch, so he couldn't smell his scent at all. He might also be using suppressants around him as well. But his warmth is still there.

Arthur walked for a while before a car stopped in front of him. He opens the door and enters. "Where to Mr. Gavon?" the driver asked.

"The Dumas family house," Arthur replies. He pulled against the tie of his uniform. 'I have some questions to ask Candice.'
