Ezra got Arthur's clothes ready. He was very reluctant to return them since he had used them to make his precious nest. But neither of them was his and a piece of Arthur's uniform is still with him.
But there's a bit of a problem. His scent is still lingering in Arthur's clothes. It will go away with a few more washes.
Arthur collected the bag filled with his clothes, and almost immediately, he could smell Ezra's scent after smelling it a few times. It is difficult to forget the scent.
"Thank you," Arthur said.
Ezra nodded and smiled, sitting on his couch and taking out the assignment for the day. "We should do our assignments before anything else," he said.
"But why?" Arthur asked.
"Because we might end up forgetting to do it?" Ezra replied raising an eyebrow.
"We've never forgotten to do our assignment before," Arthur said.
"It doesn't matter," Ezra replies, then points to Arthur's bag, signifying that he should take out his assignments as well. "It would be better to do it together right now instead of later," he said.
Arthur huffs childishly and takes out his assignments.
Ezra was a bit confused over the math question. He missed last week's lessons and some things may have been taught that indicated today's topic.
Unfortunately, Mr. Samson didn't revise the previous week's topic, so he doesn't exactly understand what he's about to do.
Unfortunately, the assignment is due for tomorrow. He looks over to Arthur's side. He doesn't look like he's having any trouble with the assignment. He looks over to Arthur's side out of curiosity. He didn't understand anything he was writing.
Arthur notices Ezra's glance and looks at him. "Is there something wrong?" he asked.
"How are you solving it?" Ezra asked timidly.
Arthur looks at him innocently. "You don't know how to solve it?"
Ezra shook his head humbly. "I believe a bit was thought last week, so I don't know anything," he explained.
Arthur scratches the back of his head. "Why don't you just copy from me?" he suggested.
Ezra shook his head vigorously. "No way," he said. "Mr. Sam is like a wizard, he always knows whenever his assignment or tests are copied," he said waving his hand around to describe this teacher.
Arthur was amused by this. "And the worst part is that the both of us would be punished because you allowed me to copy from you,"
"You seem to be experienced in this," Arthur said chuckling a bit.
Ezra folded his arms. "It happened to me once, someone copied from me and we were both scolded in front of the class," he said, looking very embarrassed at the memory.
"I thought I would die of embarrassment that day," he said.
"Okay," Arthur said, after clearing his throat. He found this very amusing, though.
For the next thirty minutes, Arthur managed to carefully explain the topic as much as possible. He was patient enough to answer any question Ezra had to ask.
"So do you understand?" he asked.
Ezra nodded. "I managed to understand it, thank you," he said politely. 'I also understand that you are a bad teacher,' he thought, but there's no way he'll tell Arthur that. He did understand the concept, he could figure out the rest on his own.
Arthur looks at him blankly. "You are thinking that I'm a horrible teacher, aren't you?"
Ezra gasped in surprise. Then had a look of slight guilt. "But I did understand what you taught a bit," he said.
Arthur was a bit sad and Ezra patted his head in an attempt to comfort him. "Don't worry, Milky will teach us on Wednesday," he said.
"Who's Milky?" Arthur inquired.
Ezra drew his hand back. "That girl from earlier today. That's her name."
Arthur was jealous almost immediately. "Do you like her?"
Ezra raises an eyebrow at Arthur, there is this emotion in his eyes that he isn't familiar with. It's probably nothing. "No, we are barely qualified to be acquaintances, so I don't know if I want her as a friend or not," he said.
'He thinks I'm talking about him wanting to be her friend,' Arthur thought blankly, then laughed inwardly.
"What about you?" Ezra asked snapping Arthur out of his thoughts.
"Huh?"
"What about you? Do you like her?" Ezra asked again, innocently.
Arthur sneers almost immediately. She likes Ezra, she's basically a love rival already. "No," he said with enough venom to make a snake envious.
Ezra laughs a bit at Arthur's behavior. "You are childish," he said.
Arthur doesn't say anything, he just rests his head on Ezra's lap. "What are you doing?" Ezra asked almost immediately sounding a bit flustered.
"I have a headache," Arthur lied. "And I need a place to rest."
Ezra frowns worriedly. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked. His worry was now very evident. He touched Arthur's forehead and brushed his hair with his fingers. "Do you want me to get you some painkillers and water to help?" he asked.
"There's no need," Arthur replies. "I just need to lay down for a while," he said.
"Oh, okay," Ezra replies. "I'll just do my assignment on the side," he said.
"Sorry about this," Arthur said pitifully.
"It's fine," Ezra replies smiling.
Arthur smiled a bit and celebrated silently. Ezra's lap is comfortable, he snuggles a bit to get even more comfortable. What would make this better, is if Ezra let out his lovely scent. It would be 'chef's kiss' perfect.
But beggars can't be choosers.
