Chapter 3 - the stranger within

Leslie heaved as she jolted off her bed, touching her forehead she was sweating badly, its been a while since she had a bad dream, taking deep breaths "calm down Leslie its just a dream" Leslie told herself trying to slow her breathing.

pushing back her unruly hair her eyes caught the golden tint on it, her mind flashed back to when she bought the dye for her hair. on her way home she kept feeling this gaze on her but when she tried to find it no one was staring at her, it was getting creepy though she wasn't one to get scared easily.

she remembered applying the dye before she took her night shower but when she checked her hair the gold tint was still there,

her mind came back to the present looking out the window it was still dark "what exactly is going on?" she asked herself 'nothing' Leslie turned her head at the voice she was hundred percent sure she was alone or maybe not "who's there?" she asked, preparing to make a run for it, even through the window 'I'm not anywhere' the deep male voice replied,

Leslie looked confused "then where are you speaking from" she asked, she couldn't believe she was asking that question it obviously won't save her if the person wanted to hurt her, she should be thinking of how to escape 'your mind' Leslie raised her brows she couldn't believe he was being sarcastic "haha....very funny, were you the one watching me yesterday and what do you want?" Leslie asked looking around to see if she could find a weapon or something that could hurt.

'if you're looking for something to hit me with don't bother unless you want to hit yourself'

"answer my question " Leslie demanded, 'I wasn't the one watching you but I know who was', Leslie paused for a second "who?" she asked, not really wanting to know the answer. 'you don't want to know' Leslie looked around hastily "how do you know that and what do you want?!" She asked again

'like I said I'm stuck in your body and I obviously do not want to remain here' he replied, "then leave" the voice stopped for a bit, there was complete silence 'I....cannot' the voice answered, Leslie picked her phone to dial 911 'if you're planning to call the police you will be putting yourself in trouble', Leslie stopped dialing, " prove you're in my head then" Leslie said

'I'm the reason for the particular changes you experienced' the voice replied, "how?" Leslie asked, she couldn't believe it, 'that's all I can tell you for now, go to bed' Leslie frowned "no you have to...." feeling drowsy Leslie fell back to a dreamless sleep.

Leslie opened her eyes slowly, the sun was up making her room bright, sitting up hastily the memories of everything that happened flashed through her mind "it must have been a dream"

getting up from her bed she sluggishly, walking to the bathroom, staring at her face in the mirror she had dark circles, raising her hand to touch her face "what's wrong with me" she muttered picking up her hair,

she stared at the tint, 'I'm the reason for the particular change you experienced' the voice repeated in her mind, squinting her eyes "was it all a dream" she thought aloud, "arrgh I should take a day off" she cried splashing water on her face, picking up her face towel she wiped her face

"but I can't because I have a witch for a boss" she complained removing her pyjamas, she walked into the shower to have her bath. coming out she dressed for work and left her room to the kitchen "morning mum" she greeted kissing her mum on the cheek "morning honey...you're awake early today are you alright" her mum replied making Leslie remember she hadn't checked the Time yet,

picking up her phone she checked.... she was actually early "everything's fine mum you don't have to worry" she said giving a reassuring smile turning to the plate beside her mum she found toast on it "I made breakfast early" her mum said, Leslie smiled brightly "see we are truly connected" she said picking up the toast she left the house to see what the day had for her.
