Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Diana

They say work hard and you will get to it some day~ If you just keep trying things will definitely work out somehow!

Yeah sure~ I am not a naive little girl to belive in stuff like that.

In fact, I don't remember when was even the time I was aloud to be naive!

I said as I pulled a handful of weeds.

The world has a sense of Humor alright, and it's a shitty one.

One day you live the life of princess, but you are bossed around by your crazy psychotic family and they drag you to the battle field when you are just a kid.

The next day you think you escaped and earned your freedom but you find yourself working in a green house growing Wierd plants and brewing potions for an old man who's bossing you around like his servant...

I called peaking at a green haired girl with emerald green eyes.

She replied before a green vine sprouted out of the the ground and pulled the basket all the way to me.

Green hair Green Eyes, Chlorokinesis are all signs of a Druide.

In this world, there exist different races and each race is different from the other! For example, Druids are born LITERALLY from cabbage leafs and Flowers!

When I first heard that I thought it was just a fairy tale...Until I actually witnessed one of my siblings sprouting out from a flower in The backyard...

I on the other hand, am a fairy. Fairies are unique existences. One one fairy is born from each generation, a fairy can never give birth to more than one fairy it's entire life and even conceiving that one child is very difficult.

A fairy is a human who can use magic through words spoken out from the heart. For example if I say "Burn" from the bottom of my heart to a piece of wood, it will burn just like that.

That's why Fairies learn all kinds of languages and search for new words every day...well I am not like that at least.

I pulled at the weeds venting out some steam in it and questioning my life choices.

My name is Diana Ashdown. I used to be a princess of House Ashdown until I faked my death and ran away a year ago.

Ever since I've been hiding here far from both Ashdown and Elfhame in a outskirt village in an even more isolated building deep within the forbidden forest.

This forest is called as such for a reason. And for that reason Old man Tesse Osborn is agreeing to take me in as one of his disciples.

Tesse is a great chief Alchemist that has been recognized by The alchemist association for his signature poison brew The "Ogal Syrup".

A highly potent poison that's being used as one of the main ingredients in medical treatments all over the land.

For making something so grand, I thought he would be someone amazing!

But no! He's just a senile old man, an eccentric Senile Old Man living inside a forest infested with monsters!

I pulled a handful of weeds and accidentally damaged the Steria Amaryllis roots.

Right then a shadow loomed over me and a can hit my hand

There he goes again. I rolled my eyes and said

I placed a hand on my chest and another on the ground then I whispered the "Revitalization words" and magic happened.

From my words a pink hue of lights swelled and dived into the ground as if it was absorbing it. A moment later, the pot exploded from the three inches long weeds that grew in reaction to my magic.

I laughed nervously I whispered the "Withering Words" and then the entire pot withered away...

he tapped with his cane loudly on the wooden floor His face distorted with fury was a sign that it was just the begining of a long talk.

I said frantically

He shouted enraged

Ivy scurried closer and said But before she could finish her words the senile old man exploded

~ After a very very noisy and annoying talk.

I left the shack for my daily patrols around the perimeter.

As I mentioned before, this place is called the forbidden forest for a reason.

Long ago, there used to be a city around the outskirt of this forest. Inhabitants of the City went missing day and night after wandering close to the forest.

The folk sent a group of armed men into the forest to inspect what happened to the missing people but that's when the tragedy happened.

Out of the dozen of man that went into the forest, only three managed to escape. One of them was unconscious.

The two conscious man said one thing "Nature is angry, the forest is not happy They are furious!"

The next Week, the man who was unconscious never woke up again and his body turned into a tree.

What lives in this forest, reclaimed it's territory when the folk decided to make it their territory.

(The folk are Humanoid races such as fairies and Druids. That's their general appellation)

Tesse's laboratory and house are protected by alchemy solution that prevents "The forest" from attacking and a bunch of Enchanter's sigils forming an elemental barrier all around.

My job in exchange for learning alchemy from Tesse, is to regularly ward off "The Forest" using my magic.

Now you would say, what would a twenty year old girl be able to do what a dozen of men failed to?

The answer is simple. My Name is Diana Ashdown. I grew up fighting in the endless war with Elfhame. When it comes to fighting mere living plants, I can manage pretty well alone.

I walked deeper and deeper into the forest until they decided to come out and greet me.

The tree branches shook and cracked. The ground trembled and the feeling of being watched made the atmosphere even more ominous than before.

Suddenly, a Wild Thorn vine dashed toward me screeching with the wind.

I bounced backward and whispered the "Stimulating Words" Enhancing my phisical and mental capacities. A winged heart with a lightning shaped mark appeared at the back of my hand.

Fairies are powerful supporters and even stronger healers. No race is better than us at healing injuries and boosting allies.

But in a battlefield, having just those qualities will cost you your life.

I shouted the "striking words" with a hand on my heart and a finger at my target.

A mass of water conjured from fairy words blasted it's way through the entangled thorns and pierced the trunk of a Big sized tree.

A loud Moaning resonated in the forest as every tree in the surroundings came to life.

What makes this forest dangerous is that it has its own conciousness and can defend itself.

Its the territory of the Willow trees. The land of living forest that feast on any living creature that comes across them. A wild demonic existence that even Druid's magic don't work much against.

So an ordinary fairy with simple healing spells would be in trouble fighting a raging bull let alone fighting this kind of creatures, right?

But an Ashdown Fairy is not someone to be looked down on.

Diana raised her hand and murmured words that radiates mystical energy.

With a hand placed on her heart, spoken words turned into magical raging flames and with a wave of her hand, the forest was drowned in a rain of scorching flames.

The willow trees screeched and Moaned as they scurried away.
