Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Owen

How long has it been? A year perhaps? I cannot remember when was the start of it anymore.

~Left swing of a thorny vine.

I became an adventurer after that accident.

~A tree root will come from down bellow.

The accident where everything changed.

~Two more willows will show up and attack me with their vines.

Ever since that day...my purpose has changed.

All for the fairy that saved my life!

~~~~
My name is Owen Evans. I am...I used to be the captain of the Enchanter's squad of Elfhame.
Enchanters are people whom draw energy from nature through glyphs and martial arts discipline. The enchanters squad of Elfhame was one of the strongest weapons and most effective against the enemy.
Until a year ago...I used to participate in warding off the Evil Forces of house Ashdown.
Until we were sent on that mission at the full moon night that changed my life radically.
The night where I died once.
I had to change career and gave up my spot as a Captain when my abilities degraded from high enchanter to a normal enchanter.
With degradation of power came a degradation of rank and occupation. I became a wandering mercenary working small jobs and bounty hunting. Searching for that person. Searching for my savior...the winged high fairy that saved my life in that incident!
I fought off the Willow trees and collected their ember hearts to sell back at the association.
The path I took today was different from yesterday, figuring I could get a better advantage in fighting in a higher ground and visioning the forest.
On my way I fought a group of Willows and noticed the traces of a battle. The lingering fading smell of smoke and remains of dead willows led me to a water stream with only a few light injuries.
A water source? Great I was starting to get thirsty from all the fighting and walking.
I pulled out my water bottle and bend to fill it when I heard a splashing.
That's when our eyes met.
In the water there was a High Fairy, Her hair was as black as obsidian and her wings were of a Pink-ish shade. Like a set of wings made of raging flames swelling and surging like water and vivid like the wind...
For a moment I was mesmerized and couldn't take my eyes off of her...Until a murmur of her voice sent a a shock wave within the water element flying towards me.
I managed to erect an elemental bubble barrier right in time and blocked her attack.
She asked before firing another shock wave stronger than the one before.
My barrier shook and maintaining it was consuming a great deal of energy, blocking it a third time might be difficult.
She covered her body with her slender arms She put force in her threat emanating an ominous feeling.
I noded and right after filling my jug, I left.
~~~

I placed the willow ember hearts on the counter

The man behind the counter examined the products before nodding

I walked away and took a seat waiting for my reward money.

That High fairy...there existence is so rare. To think one would be living within the Forbidden forest. Any noble house would go to extreme lengths to recruit her.

Should I contact Elfhame? If Ashdown were to recruit someone like her the balance might shift radically.

Ashdown already have their own fairy. Faustus Ashdown's daughter The Black Fairy...

She was a formidable opponent, rumour has it she participated in the unending war at a very early age.

If not for her, our mission...my squad would've...

I took the bag and went climbed the stairs up to my room.

That fairy...I should probably look more into her before sharing anything with Elfhame.
