Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Diana

Long story short;

Ivy got fooled by a low life two timer so I decided to teach him and his bimbo a lesson before sleeping the night.

I succeeded in stirring discord between the two fools but another fool showed up trying to scare me with a bag full of bandit heads.

After cursing(Literally) I left the dinner only for another fool to stop me in my tracks.

Correction! He's not a fool, he's danger.

He said in a low dangerous tone.

I need to reply in a way that won't sound suspicious. Let's be a total b*tch and make him lose words.

I denied I twirled and walked away staying faithful to the b*tch act and said

I picked up the pace hid my traces using "The Words of Silence" and the "Words of Confusion".

After making sure I took a large turn before reaching the shack, I sneakily got into my bed.

Next day, we helped old man Tesse brew potions for our monthly production.

First potion on the list was a "O'rian Water" which is used as a pain killer by the common folk and mostly by mercenaries.

I double checked the ingredients and found myself lacking in Aconites.

Don't ask me why are we putting lethal poison into pain killers but that's just how it works...I guess?

Ivy flinched at my call She smiled dimly.

She's not doing well with the whole "Reed" thing. Her spirit is down to the point it's affecting the plants in the botanical garden, and I mean that in the literal sense!

Maybe I should just give her some time? If she gets back to her routine she'll definitely realize how insignificant that jerk is to her life and will eventually get over it.

So it's better to leave her alone, work may distract her a bit! (That's what I was thinking until she dropped the poison on the ground and crouched to pick the shattered glass)

barely after saying that she pricked her palm

she hissed in pain.

I took her hand in mine and whispered the "Curative Words".

A mist of Pink-ish energy detoxified her wound and healed it within seconds.

She pulled her hand back

I let out a sigh

We hugged and she noded

I laughed

She smiled mischievously before leaving the lab. I stared at the door for a moment before I used my magic to collect the liquid Aconite and put it back in a bottle.

It's been a while since I handled lethal poisons...

Memories of a past I am not proud of came back to me in a flash.

Back in Ashdown, I was trained into dealing with all kinds of poisons.

I would be dragged alone into a room where they sprayed all kinds of toxins and asked me to survive inside for a limited time.

They would take me to the dungeons where the enemy soldiers were staying as hostages and they would poison them then ask me to detoxify it...

Thanks to that I developed a strong resistance to poison and learned many ways of dealing with it.

Even the legendary Aconite poison that kills an elephant with a small drop became nothing.

Same goes for all kinds of injuries and fractures.

At first I believed that was normal, that everyone was just like me, like us Ashdown offsprings. That joining the war at a young age, partaking in that training. That everyone lived the way Ashdown did.

I couldn't have been more wrong.
