Scarlet stopped walking when she got to the hallway and saw that no one was there. The students must have all returned to class, she thought and she let out a sigh before leaning against the wall.
She was confused at so many things. Even though Damien let her know he wanted to be with her, she can't deny that a part of her also wanted him, but she knows she would be betraying Melanie. All her life, she has never been in a situation where she has to choose between what she really wants for herself and what she wants for others. It is a compulsory sacrifice she knows she must make.
As she was there, buried in her thoughts, Damien came walking in the same hallway and he stopped just in front of her.
Scarlet blinked and moved her eyes to look down the hallway and then placed it back on him. She could see his eyes lower and she saw that he was looking at the jacket he had given to her.
