I began to slightly open my eyes, but it was at that moment that the blinding white light died down, so I quickly opened my eyes and scanned the mini battlefield. I was amazed with the beauty and power of the spells, because I knew nothing about spells, and this was my first time witnessing inheritors cast so many spells.
The battle was so intense, that the crew kept on casting with no rest, as they were all battling with numerous tentacles which kept on regenerating itself when it got decapitated.
This was a tough battle.
I did a quick head count on everyone, and noticed that a guy was missing from the crew, along with the lanky human guy. I quickly rolled to the side as a tentacle snapped the spot where I was previously standing at.
I was no match for this thing, and I had no intention of battling it. I quickly stood up and ran towards Peter and the creepy couple. "Any ideas?" I asked Peter in panic.
"We should retreat" Peter replied hurriedly, while waving his rusted sword at any slight movement in the shadows.
"No! See! The tentacles are getting slower, it's exhausted" Ellen said, and waved her bladed whip at a tentacle which was hovering above us.
"Are you this desperate?..." I asked, while shoving my spear at the tentacle.
"We are all sixteen Alex, if this doesn't work, then we would be useless forever" Ellen said, while tactfully retreating from the reach of the tentacle.
"I don't want that too..." I replied, and rolled twice to the side.
"Tier three beast magic, sword of justice" one of the female crew member said, and a golden great sword appeared before her. She quickly grabbed the hilt of the golden great sword, and casted again, "Tier two transformation magic, wings of honour".
A large white feathered wings suddenly sprouted from her back, tearing her shirt apart. She then shot up to the dark clouds, and dived down in the direction of the unseen monster, with the golden great sword. "Tier three elemental magic, shock blast" she screamed out, and stroke the golden great sword downward, in the direction of the unseen monster.
"No!! What are you doing?!!" The observant guy screamed out in panic.
"Everyone get down!!" The other lady from the crew screamed out and dived down.
I was too stunned by the prowess of the lady with the golden great sword, and didn't hear the other lady's warning, till a powerful shockwave spread out from the point of impact of the golden great sword.
*Boom*
Everything happened so fast that before I could react, I was high in the air, staring at a large mushroom cloud below. Before I began free falling in an unknown direction.
My mind was too numb for me to scream out, and I couldn't move any part of my body.
*Bang*
*Splash*
I heard the sound of my landing, and began sinking down in what felt like water. I was at the brink of my consciousness, and was about to pass out. When I suddenly began hearing incoherent chantings in my head, as I tried to grasp what the voice was saying... I passed out.
-
"Papa, I think he's waking up" I heard a soothing female voice beside me.
"Get away from him, quickly" a hushed elderly voice said.
Actually I've been awake for a while, and just wanted to confirm where I was, and who I was with, before opening my eyes. Because I noticed the softness of the bed which I was laid on, and the rich scent in the air... I wasn't anywhere in the outskirts.
I woke up to the feeling of being thrice as strong as I previously was, which scared me. I was supposed to be dead in the lake I landed in, but I miraculously survived. And I wasn't even feeling pains, but instead vitalized... What the f*ck was going on?
I opened my eyes weakly, and groaned in 'pains'... I wanted my captors to think I was down, then I would strike them hard on the balls when they least expect it.
I looked to the side and saw an elf girl, staring at me in curiosity. And behind her was an elderly man, also an elf, holding a sheathed katana. They were both dressed luxuriously and were looking neat and fresh.
"Where am I?" I asked weakly, still putting on my act.
"You're in the business district of stronghold seventy five" the elf girl replied while sizing me up.
"I'm in... What?!!" I screamed out, with wide eyes.
After each stronghold was conquered, they were given a corresponding number to the number of the previously conquered stronghold. And my whole life have been spent in stronghold ninety one, so I was shocked at how I got jump shipped to stronghold seventy five.
The elf girl and the elderly man cautiously took a step back, when I screamed out. They didn't reply and just stared at me, awaiting my next question.
"How did I get here?" I sat up and asked, while scanning the room I was in.
"I was returning with my crew from a trip to a tomb, when we found you unconscious at the gate... So I volunteered to bring you here" the elf girl replied.
"At the gate?... How did you bring me into the business district?" I asked in confusion.
Nothing was making sense here. I don't remember traveling the forest to here, and I wasn't even an inheritor... So how the f*ck am I in the business district?
"I carried you on my beast ride..." The elf girl was saying.
"No... I'm not an inheritor, so how did you sneak me in? And why?..." I asked, while squinting my eyes at her.
*Silence*
"So are you saying your tattoo is magically fake?..." The elf girl asked in confusion.
"What tattoo?..." I cried out.
Were they pranking me or something?
"I think he lost his memories..." I heard the elderly man whisper into the elf girl's ear.
Woah... They were a good distance away from me, I shouldn't have been able to hear that.
"Can you remember why you passed out at the gate?" The elf girl asked.
"No... But that doesn't mean I lost my memo..." I was saying, when an intense headache suddenly struck me, and I began hearing loud chantings.
'Tier one beast magic, fog of deception'
'Tier one transformation magic, shadow wings'
'Tier one elemental magic, shadow door'
'Tier one elemental magic, invulnerability'
'Tier one barrier magic, black hole'
