I didn't react much because a door was behind me, so I wouldn't fall... but I was very wrong. My body phased through the door like it was an illusion, and I fell on my back with a shocked expression.
*Silence*
There was suddenly a weird silence which didn't feel natural, so I looked up from where I was sprawled on floor, to see where I fell. And when I looked up, I saw hundreds of people who paused and was staring at me weirdly.
"It's a rookie!" A male voice suddenly screamed out in amusement.
*Laughter*
And the hundreds of people began pointing and laughing at me in amusement.
'F*ck' I muttered to myself in embarrassment.
First impression matters a lot.
I instantly lost all my will to stand up, and just laid there while pinching my glabella to calm my nerves. Then I saw Elena suddenly materialize before me.
"So, tell me how you liked it?" She said with a self appreciative smile.
"It was too dumb..." I replied with a grim expression.
"I'm sorry, I never expected you to fall... I overestimated your stamina" she said apologetically, and squatted beside me.
"Don't touch me..." I rolled to the side, and stood up while dusting my pants.
"I'm really sorry, I didn't know you take jokes seriously" she pleaded.
I had the feeling that she was trying to agitate me with her brunt words, so I inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. She stood back up and began dusting my shirt and pants, when a male voice suddenly spoke from nearby, "Is this the guy you ditched me for?" the voice asked grimly.
"There's a huge difference between ditched, and rejected, Bryan. I didn't ditch you, I rejected you" Elena replied, and looked up at the human boy who had just spoken.
Bryan was a tall human boy, who had short black trimmed hair, and had deep brown eyes. And behind him was a human girl, and a half-elf guy. The human girl had brown braided hair, with gray eyes, while the half-elf boy was bald, with black eyes.
I didn't want to join in on the drama, so I just stood silently by the side, and sized Elena's friends up.
"Elena... Is this the guy we found yesterday?" The human girl asked, while scrutinizing me.
"Yeah... His memory is foggy, he can't remember how he ended up there" Elena replied, and glanced at me.
"Hi..." The human girl waved at me with a smile, which showcased her cute deep dimples.
"Hi..." I replied with a smile, and nodded at her.
"Seriously?... You're ditching me too?" Bryan turned and asked, with a crestfallen look.
"I don't remember you asking me out" the human girl said with a shrug.
"If I did, would you have considered?" Bryan asked curiously.
"Sure..." The human girl replied with a cute smile.
Bryan's expression instantly brightened, and he fell on one knee before the human girl, and held her right palm affectionately.
*Silence*
Everyone in the large hall instantly paused and went mute, as they watched the proposal drama that was about to happen.
"Natasha, from the very first day I set my eyes on you, I knew you were the one for me" Bryan said emotionally.
"Awwn!" the crowd in the hall echoed.
The human girl's cheeks were now pink, and she was smiling cutely with her deep dimples on display.
She looked like an angel.
"Whenever I saw your smile, I always felt like I was above the world, I-i always felt like a beam of light in this world of everlasting darkness" Bryan emotionally said again.
"Awwn!" the crowd in the hall emotionally echoed again.
The human girl, Natasha, looked like she was going to tear up soon, as she hid her lips in her left palm.
"Seeing you everyday, is my greatest motivation... Natasha, would you go on a date with me?" Bryan asked with wet eyes, as he looked at Natasha expectantly.
"Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!" The crowd in the hall began echoing valiantly.
The moment was so heart warming, that I subconsciously began echoing 'yes' with the crowd. Natasha began hopping slightly in excitement, while glancing at the crowd who were cheering for her.
"No!..." Natasha suddenly said with a straight face.
*Cheers*
Her sudden reply and mood swing were so 'sudden', that people didn't register what she said, and began cheering for the 'new couple'.
"Wait! What?!" Someone suddenly screamed out from the crowd.
*Murmurings*
That was when her reply and mood swing got registered in everyone head, and the crowd began murmuring in surprise. Bryan's jaw had already dropped, and he had a shocked expression on his face.
"B-but you said you'd consider..." Bryan echoed in confusion.
"There's a big difference between consider, and accept, Bryan. And I considered for five seconds before rejecting you" Natasha said with a shrug, and withdrew her right palm which Bryan held in his.
"I-if you don't accept me, then... Y-you're gay!!" Bryan stood up and suddenly screamed out in embarrassment.
*Silence*
The hall fell silent as everyone looked towards Natasha, awaiting her reply.
"Well... I am" Natasha said with a shrug.
*Gasps*
"I love this girl..." I muttered subconsciously.
"Me too... Too bad she's gay" A familiar male voice suddenly replied from behind me.
I tilted my head to the side to see who replied me, and my jaw instantly dropped.
"Hello, Alexander... Did you miss me?" Mike said with a mischievous smile.
The crowd's spotlight immediately shifted to me and Mike. While Elena was surprised, when she saw I recognized Mike.
"Why did you try to kill me?" Mike said menacingly.
*Gasps*
I was about to flee the scene, but then I remembered I was a inheritor too.
"Why didn't you tell me you were contracted to kill me?" I asked menacingly too.
*Gasps*
"I thought you said his memory is foggy?" I heard Natasha whisper to Elena.
"Because you killed George, he was the love of my life" Mike said emotionally.
"Wait! What?!... You're gay?!!" I screamed out in shock.
*Gasps*
"Mummy, is this the end time?" A child's voice suddenly echoed from the crowd.
