Ashton looked concerned, "You don't have to. You can find other ways to pay me back or not pay me back at all."
Distantly, Emmaline felt part of her grow warm, knowing that Ashton would never force her to do this.
But circumstances would and could force her. They had.
Her next best option was selling her kidney on the black market but that was more of a last resort kind of thing.
Emmaline's expression grew obstinate, "I will. Don't make me sell my kidney, I don't drink enough water and my remaining kidney will have a tough time."
Ashton's brows drew together, first in confusion and then in fond exasperation.
"Alright, don't sell your kidney," He said gently, "We'll do this together, properly, this time."
It felt like a whole ordeal ahead of her, but his words felt so reassuring that she nodded, trusting him to take care of her as he had so far.
