Chapter 43 - Potential Prospect

Eilis replied, her voice soft yet resolute, "I too have felt something between us growing. You gave me time to mourn without expectations and lent me your shoulder to cry on."

Their confessions hung in the air, embraced by the quietude of the sanctuary. Arian and Eilis stood, their hearts intertwined, each word echoing the depth of their connection—a confession that transcended the realms and kindled a spark within the tranquil embrace of their twilight-kissed sanctuary.

Arian spoke, his voice carrying a quiet sincerity, "Would you consider staying in Duskvale with me?"

Eilis felt a gentle flutter in her heart, a tug at her soul, tempting her with the prospect of embracing a new life. "Duskvale has captivated me, but my ties to the faerie realm, they are deeply rooted."

"I understand the depth of your connection to the luminous groves. But know that in Duskvale, amidst the twilight you'll always find a corridor to your home. You are free to come and go as you please. I will not limit your travels or your wishes to be with your family and friends. You are my delicate Lily who must be tended to with love."

"Give me some time to contemplate this decision." Eilis had much to consider and would discuss the prospect of moving once she returned to her parent's home. For now, she wanted to enjoy her new sanctuary.

Arian understood her apprehension and promised to wait until Eilis was ready to give him an answer. In the meantime, he wanted to pour his love onto her, to show her how special she was to him. This was the first time Arian had ever felt strong emotions for a woman, especially one of a different race.

Lycan Warriors of Duskvale are not bound by the same mate bond as their Werewolf cousins. They are free to choose the mate who will bear their mark. Arian wanted to give his mark to Eilis, he wanted to protect her with his life. Mating would cement their bond and safeguard Eilis like an invisible shield.

A Lycan Warrior's mark was different; it wasn't just a symbol of a mated female. The warrior's mark did protect their mate even if they were separated, however, if the warrior were to die, his mate would lose the shield.
