Chapter 47 - Dinner and a Walk

Arian anxiously waited as time passed by. He had never been more excited about eating dinner. This evening he requested the kitchen staff prepare some local dishes and, as a precaution, he had Eilis's favorite dish ready in case the food was not to her liking.

The evening arrived and Eilis exited her room to find Arian walking down the corridor toward her. He was finely dressed in black slacks with a red dress shirt and a tailored black suit jacket. His hair was fashioned in an undercut with his hair parted to the side.

After seeing his attire, Eilis felt underdressed as she wore the same outfit from earlier in the day. But Arian didn't seem to mind as he stopped in front of her door holding a floral bouquet from Eudora that he brought back while Eilis was exploring the library.

"These are for you...though no flower will ever compare to your beauty."

"Where did you get these? I thought they only grew in the faerie realm?"

"You would be correct. I went to pick them up while you were in the library."

Arian led Eilis to the grand dining hall, where the table was adorned with a captivating array of dishes. The feast showcased Eilis's favorite meal, a nostalgic reminder of her faerie home, alongside unique creations that reflected the distinct culinary artistry of Duskvale.

The table was a canvas of colors and textures—a visual feast that mirrored the diversity of both realms. Arian pulled out a chair for Eilis, his eyes reflecting the anticipation of sharing this culinary experience with her.

"Let this be a celebration of our shared journey and the fusion of our cultures."

Eilis's eyes sparkled with gratitude as she took in the exquisite spread. Astraia observed the culinary symphony with curious eyes.

"Thank you, Arian. This is wonderful." Eilis replied, her senses tingling with anticipation.

The dining hall resonated with laughter and the clinking of utensils, a celebration of Eilis's arrival.

After dinner, Arian took Eilis for an evening stroll through the courtyard and to the garden. There was a small pond with fish and lilypads that seated a frog here and there. Astraia immediately took notice of the swimming fish and made several unsuccessful attempts to catch one.

Arian decided he would take the opportunity to formally court Eilis while she temporarily lived in the castle.
