Chapter 30 - CH 30: [Spirit King] VS 'Shadow'.......(3)

Now that [Ifrit] was constraint by the chains through a [Trap Spell], he could feel his [Mana] decreasing.

These chains had the properties of a [Dark Mana] to absorb [Mana], which was not only decreasing his [Mana], making him weaker.

But also obstructing him in using any new spell. If this kept going on, he would had no [Mana] left and would be returned from where he came from.

That's why [Ifrit] was in a bind now.

From the way to hide his moves from a [Spirit King], to make a magic spell in such speed and accuracy, which was only possible for a highly talented mage.

[Ifrit] had no choice but to acknowledge that he had been played by the 'Shadow'.

[Ifrit] even had a doubt that the 'Shadow' was intentionally, first using a sword to fool him to thought of him as a swordsman.

As a [Spirit King], there had been only few cases where he had met such opponents who had outsmarted him.

Soon the 'Shadow' came to him through around the wall.

As the 'Shadow' came near [Ifrit], he stopped and stare at [Ifrit] with that same creepy smile on his face.

[Ifrit] couldn't found what was the 'Shadow' thinking. It could be simply mocking him or happy for his victory or there could be a more deeper meaning.

Suzuki and others were shocked to see that even a [Spirit King] was defeated and silent due to fear that If they made any noise the 'Shadow' might come after them.

It was [Ifrit] to erased this silent and painful atmosphere.

[I had underestimated you, which is my big mistake.]

[Ifrit] acknowledged his mistake. He didn't know If the 'Shadow' could understood him or not, he still wanted to convey his thoughts.

Even though he was caution against the 'Shadow', he still didn't took him much of a threat.

[You cleverly control the battle from the very start. And even showed such a mastery of your [Mana] that I had no choice to acknowledge you.]

[Ifrit] begin to talk in light voice like he was talking with a friend and It didn't match to the situation he was in right now.

[But….]

Suddenly [Ifrit] voice changed, putting more force in his voice.

[If I was a High-ranking Spirit, I would had been defeated right now. But…]

As soon [Ifrit] said this, 'Shadow' turned to looked towards the wall made to fire as he sensed something.

The wall began to change It's shape like It was a living being.

[You also made a big mistake in underestimated me.]

Suddenly the flames that were first acting as a wall attacked the 'Shadow' like a snake.

The 'Shadow' tried to dodge them and moved towards [Ifrit] to stop him, as he was the cause of this.

But those flames were much faster. They grabbed the 'Shadow' , before he could reach [Ifrit], and pushed him on his back on the ground.

The 'Shadow' tried struggled hard to move the flames away from him but he failed. Soon all the flames from the wall had enveloped the 'Shadow' like a huge ball, which could contain three people easily.

It was like seeing giant ball of fire.

[These chains are effective to stop me from moving and using a new spell. But as a [Spirit King] I can still control flames that already exist.]

[Ifrit] who was seeing all of this, calmly explain cause of the situation. It was not know whether he was telling this to the 'Shadow' or the girls.

[Now lets see which one of us can survive longer.]

As [Ifrit] was still constraint and his [Mana] was still being absorbed.

This now had became a battle of endurance.

It depended whether the 'Shadow' could survive long enough that [Ifrit] loses all of his [Mana] first or the 'Shadow' dies first.

But [Ifrit] had another move. The huge ball made of fire began to become smaller in other word began to compress.

As It became smaller and smaller the heat of the ball began to increase and even the color of fire began to become lighter and lighter from initial orange color.

Even the ground near and under the ball began to melt. And when the ball had compressed enough to contain only a single person.

If there was a simple way to tell that how much hot the ball was right now, It was enough to melt an entire human into a liquid in a few seconds.

And so Everyone heard a scream.

"SHShhHhHShssh"

An eerily and non-human like scream began to come from inside the ball along with the sound of a burning flesh.

Suzuki and others had to cover there ears because of the scream. And because Ram was still in her beast-man form she suffered the most due to her strengthened senses.

The scream kept going on for almost a minute. And soon another voice came.

[Oh, you survive this long enough. I'm truly impressed.]

It was [Ifrit] who watching the fire ball indifferently with being effect by the scream.

[Ifrit] was impressed that the 'Shadow' was still alive for this long but even though his own [Mana] was near It's end, he didn't worry at all.

As soon the 'Shadow' was caught, [Ifrit] was certain of his victory because If someone is captured by this move no one can escape this unless a God.

Even If somehow miraculously his [Mana] ended first and the 'Shadow' still lived, he was sure that the 'Shadow' would be in a state where he would not be able to even lift a finger.

And even If he loses all of his [Mana] It's not like he was going to die. He would just be un-summoned.

As long as he has a soul he would survive.

The scream kept going on for who knows how long. It could had been few more seconds or minutes.

But soon finally the scream stopped, likely that the 'Shadow ' was dead now.

Even the chains which were bounding [Ifrit] disappeared, allow [Ifrit] to move again.

After being released he still looked towards the huge ball of fire but he didn't cancel It.

Right now his [Mana] had reached near bottom. He would had lost If the 'Shadow' had survived few second more.

As thinking that everything was over now, [Ifrit] turned towards Rem, his summoner and contractor.

[Princess, now you are sav-!?]

As he was about to assured Rem that she was save now, he felt something from inside the ball.

He returned his gaze to the ball again and saw a small black color flame appeared from somewhere on the ball and It began to spread.

It was like the black color fire was burning and consuming other flames. And when [Ifrit] saw this scene, he felt full of dread.

[H-How can you use those flames!?]

This was the first time that he speak like this, with fear, since he came here. The cause of his fear was those black flames which he knew very well.

The fire that consumes everything and no being could escape from It's unsatisfied hunger even the [Spirits] and [Gods] were not spared.

And only two known living beings in this world who could use this.

The [Dark Flames].
