The smell of burned flesh was spread everywhere causing Rem and others to cover their noise and make disgusted face.
Usually Mia would had used her magic to create a barrier spell that could purify this smell but she was busy to heal Arthur.
So everyone had to endure this. But they suddenly saw a very horrifying scene.
"T-That thing is still alive!!?"
It was Ayaka who shouted out of shock as the 'corpse' that was just standing on only one remaining leg, began to move.
At first the movement was short but after each second that movement began to increase such that even an average person could tell that that 'corpse' was alive.
If anyone had focused from start, they would had found It strange that why was a corpse still standing, even with a single leg but everyone there were too surprised to even noticed that.
As the badly burned 'corpse' began to move, It lifted It's head towards Ayaka as If the 'corpse' had heard her.
"Hii!"
As soon Ayaka and others fully saw the corpse's face, they all were horrified and Rem even lightly screamed with horror.
As the 'corpse' was still giving them the same creepy smile as before but because of It's miserable state right now, It became even more horrifying.
Even a God would tremble If they were in their place.
"Mia that is just an [Undead], right?"
"I d-don't know….."
Arthur and others had faced against zombie-like creatures called [Undeads] before so they wouldn't had been so surprised because of just seeing a moving 'corpse'.
But this 'corpse' was adnormal in many ways and thay could felt this was much more horrifying and dangerous than any [Undead] they ever faced.
So Ram with slight fear in her voice asked Mia If she could sense any [Miasma] from the 'corpse' which every [Undead] emits from their body.
And If this 'corpse' was just an [Undead], they could than easily defeat It no matter how strong It is through Mia's [Holy Magic].
But sadly, It didn't go as Ram had thought.
".…No, I can't sense any [Miasma] from 'It'."
After hearing Mia's answer, everyone became even more terrified. The answer hat Mia gave only meant only one thing that that 'corpse' was not a corpse but a living being.
It was truly horrifying that how the corps-no the 'Shadow' was still alive even in such miserable state.
And the way that It was still giving them that creepy smile like a vengeful and mad spirit who would never let them go, caused everyone in cold sweat.
As If the 'Shadow' had lost interest on them, 'It' moved It's head towards [Ifrit] who was still struggling to escape from those chains.
As If feeling the Shadow's gaze, [Ifrit] stopped moving and turned towards the 'Shadow'.
But before [Ifrit] could say or do anything, the 'Shadow' pounced on him at such a speed that [Ifrit] couldn't saw Shadow's movement and before he knew It he felt a strong force on his chest which cause his huge body to fall on the ground on his back.
Because of the force as well as because of the huge body of [Ifrit], the ground again shook and cracked.
Even Ayaka and others couldn't understand what had happened and before they knew It [Ifrit] was laying on the ground and above him was the 'Shadow'.
Shadow's remaining leg was twisted in a painful and horrifying way like a twisted twig which showed that how the 'Shadow' increased his speed from before by sacrificing It's leg and It's entire left arm was penetrated inside [Ifrit's] chest.
But even though his chest was being impaled, [Ifrit] didn't show any sign of pain.
A [Spirit] is usually in an invisible and transparent form like a ghost and only interact with physical objects through [Mana].
So when a [Spirit] is summoned, they borrowed their summoner's [Mana] to form an empty elemental physical body to interact with their summoner.
Higher the rank of the [Spirit], more [Mana] It borrows from their summoner. That's why Rem was completely exhausted after summoning a [King-rank Spirit].
And because the body of summoned [Spirits] are made of [Mana], they are almost immune to physical damages and even magical attacks don't have much effect on them.
And even If you harmed them they could only be pushed back or forcing them lose their body but they can never be truly killed as It is not their actual body.
And as long as the summoner has [Mana] they can be summoned again and again.
That's why [Spiritualists] are highly respected and envied by others in this world and are considered powerhouses If trained well.
It would be same for [Ifrit] too but the reason [Ifrit] showed feared for [Dark flames] was because of their ability to devour anything including a 'soul'.
[Dark flames] were capable to truly kill a [Spirit] and any other being. And the 'Shadow' could use that very flames to truly kill him.
But instead of using the [Dark flames], the 'Shadow' directly attacked him which was something [Ifrit] couldn't understand.
He didn't know how the 'Shadow' even survived in such state and he at least knew that 'Shadow' could kill him in one strike but 'It' didn't.
And more strangely the 'Shadow' impaled his remaining arm inside his chest, which was same as give It up.
Since his body was made of [Mana] rather than having any vital organs like a human, there were only flames inside him.
Even now he could feel 'Shadow's arm slowly melting and disappearing inside him and because 'Shadow' was very close to his body due to their position.
The 'Shadow' was keep getting more and more damaged from the flames and heat on the body of [Ifrit].
No matter how he thought [Ifrit] couldn't found the purpose for these actions and with how the 'Shadow' used tricks and trap during their battle, It showed 'Shadow's cleverness.
Of course It was possible that due to intense pain the 'Shadow' was not being able to think properly...
As [Ifrit] was observing the 'Shadow' on his body and trying to understand It's purpose, he felt something inside him.
It was like a cold touch in his highly heated body?
Then as If his brain began to work on It's own [Ifrit] began to remember again the memory when he first doubted about the identity of the 'Shadow'.
From his bizarre appearance to even survive in such corpse like state and even the ability to use [Dark flames] to now this feeling of cold touch.
As If the puzzles began to merge together, [Ifrit] thought of a worst-possible scenario.
And as If 'Shadow' knew what [Ifrit] was thinking about, 'It' looked towards [Ifrit] with an even more wider creepy smile and laughed.
And this single action from 'Shadow' confirmed his guess, giving [Ifrit] chill feeling in his soul.
