[Ifrit] struggled with all his might but the chains tighten themselves, constraining him to even move unlike before like a python wrapping his prey.
Still he couldn't give up here or he didn't had any other choice because If what he had guessed is true then something more terrible than death is about to happen to him If nothing is done.
Soon the movement of Shadow's arm inside his chest ceased moving but that didn't brought relief to [Ifrit] because he knew that 'It' didn't ceased his movement because 'It' had given up instead 'It' had found what 'It' was looking for.
And then the Shadow grabbed the 'thing' It was looking for and began to pull It's arm out of [Ifrit's] chest, along with that 'thing'.
[Noooo! This can't be happening! I the King of Spirits can't die like thisss!!]
[Ifrit] shouted with fierce anger and unfairness in his voice, sensing his end near as each second passes.
And as If making a final struggle [Ifrit] unleashed his all remaining power causing flames on [Ifrit's] body to become hotter and changed color from orange to blue.
Along with It [Ifrit] began to shake his body fiercely to remove 'Shadow' from his chest.
But due to the chains which were absorbing and suppressing his [Mana], [Ifrit] couldn't unleash his full power and even his body was constraint he couldn't to separate 'Shadow' from him.
Not only that, these chains were also stopping him to unsummon himself. Otherwise he would had ran away long ago when he found the situation bad for him.
Even with unable to unleash his full power, the flames on [Ifrit] were now strong enough that the condition of 'Shadow' became to more severe and It's movement began to slow down.
But that couldn't stop 'Shadow'. Seeing that even his last struggle couldn't stop the 'Shadow'.
[Ifrit's] emotions began to transform from anger to fear, fear of death.
[H-Hey, I know what your kind loves most, It's souls, aren't they? I can gave you hundre-no thousands of human souls but please let me go.]
Since [Ifrit] couldn't stop the 'Shadow' with force, he tried to negotiate with the 'Shadow'. As far [Ifrit] had observed the 'Shadow' was an intelligent being and could understand them.
"…"
But the Shadow didn't listen to him and completely ignored him. Suddenly [Ifrit] began to feel huge amount of pain.
[AHHHH!!]
'This can't be! This can't be! This can't be!'
This was the first time that [Ifrit] ever felt such pain. If the pain was to be described It was like pulling an organ from inside an awake person forcibly but slowly to torment the victim.
But [Ifrit] as a [Spirit] didn't had anything like an organ inside him so the reason he was feeling the pain was because what the 'Shadow' pulling out of body was something important or necessary for all living beings including higher beings such as [Gods].
It was a [Soul].
Many don't know but [Ifrit] was present during the [Blood War] when the [Abyss King] and his minions from [Abyss] invaded this world.
And those beings from [Abyss] were horrifying and dangerous being even for [Ifrit], a Spirit King. Each of them were different from each other, some were small, some were huge in size. Some were clever and intelligent and some only follow their instincts to destroy anything in front of them.
But they all had one common thing, They all had a strong desire for souls. It didn't matter whose soul It is. Human, animal, or a God, they even preyed on the souls of their own kind.
And they either eat them, torture them or use them in another way. Those poor souls could never archive peace or even reincarnation.
For beings from [Abyss], souls were just delicious food and toys for them.
And [Ifrit] had seen many such horrifying scenario during the war. Many [Spirits] were killed in such horrifying way. And this caused the [Ifrit] to subconsciously create trauma against all the beings from [Abyss].
If [Ifrit] had found 'Shadow's identity before he got caught in those chains, he would had run away long ago. But at last…..
And now back in the present, as [Ifrit] began to feel the unbearable pain he knew that the 'Shadow' was about to take his soul away as [Ifrit] can now say with guaranty that the 'Shadow' was from [Abyss].
And this caused trauma in [Ifrit] to surface, causing [Ifrit] engulfed in complete panic and fear.
[No! Please! No! Forgive me!]
If a [Spiritualist] was here and seen this scene, he would had his jaw opened wide with shock because [King-ranked Spirits] were very prideful and they never show any kind of weakness like a real King.
[Ifrit] who was showing such behaviour was complete different from what others thought of him to be.
Even the Ayaka and others were shocked seeing [Ifrit] in such behaviour.
But 'Shadow' didn't care as no matter how much [Ifrit] begged, even If he try to negotiate or try to threaten 'Shadow'.
It looked like 'Shadow' was determined to take his soul and soon, 'Shadow' pulled out the soul of the [Ifrit] from his body.
[NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!]
On Shadow's left hand, on which almost no flesh remained, was a light blue colored fire ball about the size of children head.
The small fire ball could be seen making movement as If It was alive and wanted to escape from Shadow's grip but even with a badly damaged hand, the 'Shadow' didn't loosened It's grip.
At appearance wise, It didn't looked much different from a blue small fire spirit but It was actually the soul of [Ifrit].
And as for [Ifrit] whose soul was stolen, his body had gone complete numb and the flame on his body began to diminish.
As finally near his end, [Ifrit] without knowing why moved his head to his side, towards Rem whose was on her knees with pale face.
It looked like among others Rem was the one who was most shocked as she was only one who was aware of [Ifrit] true power. That's why she couldn't comprehend this situation and what the 'Shadow' had done to [Ifrit].
But when Rem felt [Ifrit] gaze, her mind slightly came back and she looked towards [Ifrit]. When their eyes met, Rem somehow felt the emotions that [Ifrit] was feeling right now.
Anger, Regret, Sadness and Despair.
[..R..run..]
And warned Rem to run from here before dying with flames completely extinguished from his body and his remaining body began to turn into ashes.
"Ahhhhh!"
At this day, Rem felt the pain of losing someone for the first time and this was the day when one the Spirit Kings lost his life and soul.
