Alex POV:
I stood there, lost in thought, my mind racing with doubts. Will she want me again? I wondered. I thought about the way she smiled, the way her eyes sparkled, and the way her touch made me feel. I gently lifted her into my arms, feeling her soft weight against my chest.
I carried her to her room, the dim light of the hallway casting shadows on the walls. The bedroom was a serene oasis, with a plush carpet and a comfortable bed. I laid her down on the bed, her hair spreading out like a halo on the pillow.
Jenny POV:
I was dreaming of finding my true love, and in my dream, he carried me in his arms because I had gotten injured. I playfully reached out to touch his face, my fingers tracing the contours of his cheekbones. I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body as my fingers made contact with his skin.
Alex POV:
Her touch surprised me, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. "What are you doing?" I asked, trying to hide my reaction. She opened her eyes, looking up at me with a mixture of confusion and apology. "I'm sorry, I was just dreaming," she said. I pulled away, trying to compose myself. "We need to stay away from each other," I said, before turning and leaving the room.
The next morning, I went to Jack's room and knocked. "Jack, are you up?" I asked. He opened the door, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Morning," he said, his voice still husky with sleep. I patted his shoulder. "You're going to be staying here from now on. A teacher will be coming to teach you every day, starting today." I explained the plan, and Jack listened intently.
Later that day, I arrived at the underground cave, greeted by my men. "Any news, Leo?" I asked. "Yes, boss," he replied. "They confessed, and it was Mr. Rugard who paid them." I nodded, a plan forming in my mind. "Let's take down his business, and then we'll take him down."
Jenny POV:
As I stepped out of Alex's villa, I felt a mix of emotions: relief, confusion, and a hint of fear. The driver, a silent and stoic man, escorted me to the car and opened the door for me. I settled into the plush leather seat, feeling the softness envelop me. As we drove away from the villa, I watched the grand gates disappear into the distance.
The journey to my neighborhood was a blur of trees, buildings, and streets. I stared out the window, lost in thought, trying to process the events of the past few hours. The driver's occasional glances in the rearview mirror were the only reminders that I wasn't alone.
As we approached my neighborhood, the familiar sights and sounds brought me back to reality. Children playing in the park, vendors calling out their wares, and the smell of food wafting from the street stalls – it was all so comforting and normal.
The driver pulled up to my gate, and I thanked him before stepping out of the car. I watched as he drove away, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I was home.
I pushed open the gate, noticing that it was unlocked. I knocked on the door, and after a few minutes, Tasha's smiling face appeared. She flung her arms around me, her perfume enveloping me in a familiar scent. "Where have you been? I was worried sick about you!" she exclaimed.
"Let's go inside first, and I'll tell you everything," I said, following her through the gate. As we walked, I noticed the sound of birds chirping and the rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze.
"Wait, where did you go last night?" I asked, my eyes narrowing. "I saw the gate locked."
"I went to meet my aunt to collect something, and she asked me to spend the night with her," Tasha explained. "You know how relatives can be, so I was waiting for your call to tell me you were home, so I could use that as an excuse to come back. But you didn't call me."
"I forgot," I said, feeling a pang of guilt. "I'm so sorry. I really forgot."
As we entered the house, the cool air conditioning enveloped us, a welcome respite from the heat outside. I locked the door behind us, and we settled into the living room.
"Where did you sleep last night?" Tasha asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Let's sit down, and I'll tell you everything," I said, taking a deep breath.
