Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Jenny POV:

As I scrolled through the comments on my phone, my heart sank. Fans of Alex were speculating about our encounter at Mr. Jones' party. The video of us staring at each other had gone viral, and the internet was abuzz with theories.

"Who is this girl looking at my lover?" one fan commented. "Maybe she was trying to get his attention, and she did. Wow, what a manipulator she is," another added. I winced at the harsh words, feeling a sting of embarrassment.

But some comments caught me off guard. "I ship them together; they've got this vibe like all those love Korean dramas," someone wrote. Others speculated about our past, suggesting we might be childhood friends or former lovers reunited. I blushed at the thought, feeling a flutter in my chest.

Julia snatched my phone from my hand, her eyes blazing with anger. "So, tell me, who are you to him?" she demanded, her voice dripping with venom. "Everyone's saying you might be his childhood friend or lover."

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. "There's no relationship between us whatsoever. We're just strangers," I replied, my voice firm.

Julia sneered. "Then tell them. Go live and tell everyone." She glared at me, her eyes flashing with contempt. "You're just a nobody, trying to cling to his fame."

I hesitated, feeling a surge of fear. "I can't. I have to speak with Mr. Alex first," I stammered.

Julia's expression turned incredulous. "You really must be stupid," she spat, her hand flying up to slap me. I touched my stinging cheek, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes.

"You think you're worthy of him?" Julia sneered. "You're just a lowlife girl who got lucky. I have to speak to Mr. Alex first? Please, you're not even in his league."

I felt a surge of anger at her words, but bit back my retort. I knew I had to tread carefully here.

Alex POV

I sat in my office, scrolling through the comments on the viral video. Fans were speculating about my encounter with Jenny, and I couldn't help but smile. She was a beautiful woman, and I had to admit, I was intrigued by her.

"Lovers or friends, wow, these fans amaze me every second," I said to myself.

But as I delved deeper into the comments, my expression changed. I saw the way some people were talking about Jenny, speculating about her past, and I felt a surge of possessiveness. She was mine, I thought, without realizing it.

Just then, Leo entered my office. "Boss, I have a report about Miss Jenny," he said, his expression serious.

I stood up immediately, concern etched on my face. "Tell me."

"She's being harassed by Miss Julia, the daughter of Macos Restaurant," Leo replied.

Something inside me shifted. I felt a wave of anger and protectiveness wash over me. No one touches my woman, I thought.

I called my secretary to cancel all my meetings for the day and left with Leo and my bodyguards. The Rolls-Royce drove off, and we arrived at Macos Restaurant soon after. I demanded to see Miss Julia and Jenny, and a worker led me to the office.

Lina, who was standing nearby, looked surprised to see me. "I'm happy he's here for Jenny," she thought. "She needs to get out of that witch's hands."

Jenny looked up, surprised, as I entered. I sat down, crossing my legs, and addressed Julia calmly.

"I see. So, you felt the need to harass Miss Jenny. Interesting."

Julia looked up at me, her eyes wide with fear. "I-I was just trying to get the truth out of her," she stammered.

I raised an eyebrow. "The truth? You call physical assault the truth? I think not."

I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers together. "You see, Julia, I have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment. And I always get what I want."

I glanced at Leo, who handed Julia a document. "You will pay Miss Jenny one million dollars for your actions. Consider it a lesson learned."

Julia's eyes widened in shock, but I just smiled coldly. "Don't bother trying to negotiate. The price is non-negotiable. Pay up, or face the consequences."

I stood up, my movements fluid and calculated. "I believe that's all for now. Carry on, Miss Jenny. And Julia... don't make the same mistake again."

I turned and walked away, leaving Julia shaken and Jenny looking relieved.
