Eric gazed at her and smiled a little, he grasped her chin possessively and kissed her lips but she scratched his thigh with her claws and pulled away from him.
Eric stared at his thigh which healed immediately, he loved this new side of her but he knew she didn't hate him. She simply felt guilty about their present deed but there was certainly love in her heart and he believed it hadn't faded yet.
He stood to his feet and he sauntered to the television. He switched it on and then stylishly took his phone which was beside it.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Maya asked, feeling more irritated.

"I will go" Eric agreed and picked up his clothes from the floor.

Eric was crestfallen but didn't show it.

Eric reached home and was surprised to meet Beta Fred and his father in the sitting room, discussing. Anytime he saw them together, he knew they were up to nothing good.
Though Beta Fred was his friend, his father always had a strong influence on people, to do whatever he wanted and his friend was no exception.
"Good evening," Eric said and walked towards the stairs. He didn't care about what they were talking about because it would certainly be to his disadvantage.
"Eric" Alpha Damien called.
Though Eric had built a name for himself and made his wealth, he was still answerable to his father no matter how powerful he became.
Eric sneered and walked to them.
"Eric" Beta Fred greeted with a smile.
"Hello, Fred. Father, what do you want to talk about?" Eric questioned, impatiently.
Alpha Damien tapped the couch, demanding that he have his seat. Eric reluctantly sat down and waited for them to speak.
"You are a future Alpha and can't truly rule over the people without a Luna, you've got to choose someone or forgive Eunice for the mistake that she regrets," Alpha Damien said to his son.
He didn't want Eric to marry someone else, though he knew of Eunice's infidelity but she seemed like a good option. Apart from that, Alpha Damien had another agenda.
"Father, can you hear yourself speak? I caught that woman sleeping with another man and you're asking me to forgive her like nothing happened. Would you have loved my mother the same way, if she cheated on you?." Eric yelled angrily and sprang up to his feet.
Alpha Damien caught his wrist and asked him to sit back. Eric sighed and sat.
"Since Eunice is out of the picture, I smell a strange scent on you, and a guard has informed me that you've met with that woman… what's her name again?" Alpha Damien trailed off and acted like he had forgotten her name.
"Aha!, Maya is her name and that woman is the owner of the best automobile company in this country but that wealth and power can never change her background. It can never alter the fact that she will always be a stupid orphan" Alpha Damien said and placed his hand on Eric's shoulder.
The old man smiled cunningly and said; "That woman has reached places that not even a future Alpha like you has reached; she is number one while you are the second best."
Alpha Damien knew Eric's weakness. He hated being compared to people and loved to bring down anyone who dared to stand in his path towards the top.
Eric cleared his throat uneasily and faced his father with darkened eyes.
" I don't comprehend where this conversation is heading, Father," Eric said in displeasure, he was unimpressed with whatever his father's motives were.
"Well, I'm speaking simply for the good of my son, the future Alpha of the moonshine pack. You aren't qualified to be an Alpha without a Luna and you are even losing to a woman who was under your feet before, how much of your worth will you lose" Alpha Damien smiled and smoothened his son's collar.

"I think I underestimated her because she turned out even more intelligent than you" Alpha Damien bruised his ego further with his venomous words.
Eric clenched his fists in anger and swallowed a hard lump in his throat.
"What's your point exactly? What are you driving at?" Eric growled.
"I'm just saying that a commoner of no former status has overshadowed your company. She's reaching the skies while you fall further and further to the ground and I know that you've been with her tonight…"

Beta Fred was already feeling bad for Eric, his father's words were infuriating him and brewing a lot of bitterness in him not towards his father but rather Maya.
Alpha Damien knew the power of his words and how much damage they could do.
"I want you to pull her back to the dust where she came from, destroy her, son" Alpha Damien chuckled sinisterly and tapped on Eric's shoulder.
