Trago shifted his eyes to the closing door at the other entrance to the building.
"He just left?" Trago asked a nearby student.
"Yes, Teacher!"
Trago ran out.
He looked around but found no signs of Henry. He vanished like a ghost.
"Damn it! I forgot to tell him something…"
…
Henry did not head to the apartment building. The sun was no longer above. Instead, the moon replaced it, casting a serene light across the night sky.
After a while, Henry reached a large open field. He lay down on the grass and stared at the stars.
Henry had a strange feeling tonight. When he was teaching the magic circuits to Felicia, he seemed to remember his eldest disciple.
In the past, he gazed at the starry sky with him.
The stars were a little different, but the person who used to accompany him was gone. It all passed like a shooting star streaking through the night sky.
Henry closed his eyes. This was not the first time he had gotten the urge to reminisce about his past.
After about an hour, Henry opened his eyes and stood up.
He patted his back and removed grass clippings that stuck to his clothes.
He noticed a silhouette was watching him from a distance from under a tree.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
A slender and young woman walked out. The moon lit up her beautiful face, making her stand out in the dark field.
"It's beautiful, but I had no one to accompany me…" Henry lifted his head and looked up at the moon.
He felt lonely. Felicia was here with him in this life, but in his past, he had a lot of people to accompany him. The change was drastic.
"I was watching with you earlier."
Her alluring voice got closer. She stood a meter away from him and smiled a little.
"Who are you?"
Henry was a little surprised someone was watching with him. The attention caused by the entrance exam was a little excessive. He was starting to regret it.
"Sabrina. Sabrina Fullgale. I saw your unfamiliar face and melancholic gaze as I was passing by."
Sabrina smiled wider and glowed with ecstatic beauty. She gave the impression of an innocent and endearing woman.
Henry took a closer look at her. She wore a pure white dress with an elegant pink bow at her waist. A tiny hairpin was tied at her front left bangs.
She was a beautiful woman.
"Nice to meet you. I'm leaving."
Henry nodded at her. He didn't believe that she was passing by. He had enough of the students disturbing him, so he didn't look back as he walked away.
"Wait! What's your name?"
Sabrina pulled his sleeve.
Henry turned to look at her. He carefully examined her facial expression and realized that she was not lying about her intentions.
"Henry."
He shrugged her hand away and continued.
"Henry, what?"
Henry stopped and took a moment of silence. "Henry Cloud"
"Henry Cloud…"
Sabrina watched him leave and turn the corner, disappearing from her gaze.
"Who is he?"
Sabrina wondered to herself.
…
Henry returned to the apartment. It was a tedious walk up the fourth floor. He took several deep breaths and entered their apartment.
Felicia was not home yet. It was dark and silent.
"I'm no longer seeking the cloud… I have become the cloud that has disappeared and returned."
Henry's voice echoed in the silence.
His family name was unique. In the beginning, he didn't have a family name. He claimed this family name for himself on a special occasion.
At that time, Henry was at his lowest moment. He watched as a cloud appeared out of nowhere and then promptly vanished.
To Cloudseek was to do the impossible. There were all kinds of clouds in the world. Finding a specific one was impossible and relied more on luck.
That was also the start of Henry's rise in the past.
Henry Cloudseeker sought for the impossible by attempting to cross the threshold of… something. Sigh. Henry couldn't remember what it was.
A while later, Henry stopped and focused on the present. The past was long gone, but the current moment was ripe for the taking.
Henry used the whole night to familiarize himself with his improved understanding of magic circuits. As he did so, he remembered more of his previous knowledge of magic circuits.
The new information triggered the resurgence of old information.
When morning came, Henry walked to the podium. It quickly filled up.
After it did, Judy walked in. She swiveled her head across the students and stopped at Henry.
She smiled at him and waved.
Henry nodded his head and waved back.
Judy took a deep breath.
"We have spent yesterday getting to know each other and familiarizing ourselves with the academy. Today, I will teach you all the rudimentary knowledge to become a magus. I'm aware some of you are already magi.
"That is fine. Consider my lesson as a hammer that will stamp the knowledge in your mind. You will understand better and come out with a more complete knowledge."
Judy spoke with pride as she gave the lesson.
Henry felt excitement. His inner student came out as he listened intently.
"Magic is the ability to control and harness the power of mana! There are those who can change the world with a thought, and there are those who can't resist the control of the world around them.
"This is the difference between a magus and a mortal. By becoming a magus, we free ourselves from the impartial and unemotional will of the world. We can better protect ourselves.
"To start your journey to become a magus, we should have a strong heart! Only someone with such can struggle ahead of the competition."
Judy touched her heart, and her face filled with joy.
"To do that, you need to fill your heart with mana. This is the most crucial step. Failure has a tiny chance of a heart attack. It is required to have a nearby magus who can restart the heart in case it happens.
"This will be your foundation! If you can pass this step, you have a high chance of reaching my level!"
Henry's shock could not be described in words as he listened to her lecture.
