As days went on, Lei would slowly start to eat and drink again. She had to put up a fight with the villain. Lei needed the energy if she wanted to keep going and get out of her book. Yu Min and the others were working on a plan as the days went on. Though they, Yu Min and Lei, haven't spoken to each other, kept thinking about each other.
Lei was practicing one day when she felt weak. She had fallen to her knees. "Ugh," she mumbled as she went to get back up, but ended up falling back down.
Mu was coming to check up on her when he heard someone falling. He ran towards it and saw Lei on the ground. "Lei!" He called out as he got to her, he picked her up, carried her to a bench, and set her down.
"I'm fine, father. I guess I overdid it," Lei stated.
Mu looked at her as he crouched down. He reached his hand out to see if she caught a cold from not eating or drinking.
Lei grabbed his hand. "Father, I'm fine really. I just didn't warm up correctly."
"Lei, that shouldn't have happened either way. Are you sure you're feeling fine?" Mu asked as he looked at her. He knew that she wasn't feeling alright as he hadn't seen any of her friends come to visit her since the day they all came to visit her.
"I'm sure, papa. I will just take a break for a little bit before I get back at it so I can build my strength back up."
Mu just looked at her as he knew that she was going to burn herself out for doing this.
"Really, papa. I'm fine. If I wasn't, I would've told you and ma if I wasn't feeling fine," Lei said as she looked back at him.
"Would you really, Lei?"
Lei nodded. "Of course I would."
"Are you positive?"
"No, dad. I'm not pregnant. I'm sure that I would tell you," Lei said as she let out a chuckle, hoping that would somewhat lighten up the mood.
Mu just looked at her. "You know, you remind me of someone I used to know. I'm starting to think that you're around them way too much growing up."
"Who?"
"Someone you probably forgot about. You used to get so excited when you knew that they would be at the camp," Mu answered.
"Huh?"
"I am offended that you don't remember me, Lei," a voice called out.
Lei looked at where the voice came from and saw her aunt, Aunt Jun. She got up and ran to her. "Aunt Jun!!" she yelled. "Sorry, I didn't remember you. But to be fair, it's been a while since I last saw you."
Aunt Jun hugged her. "It's fine, little warrior. Anyway, I heard that you got an important mission that your professor gave you. How's it going?"
Lei hugged back. "It's going ok. I mean I've got leads on it, but I feel like I'm going around in circles."
"Oh?" Aunt Jun replied, "are they going after things that aren't related to their actual plan?"
Lei looked at her and nodded. "Yeah. I mean they've been coming after me and my friends."
"They do that so that way you don't know what they're actual reason is," Aunt Jun said as she looked back at Lei.
"I know, but what if they were doing it for a reason though?"
"They probably are, but what is the reason?"
Lei thought about it for a bit, before saying it. "The reason could be that they are trying to get revenge from someone, but I don't know who though. I mean I-" Lei said as she stopped herself before she had told them that she knows that she's seen them multiple times.
Aunt Jun and Mu looked at her. "You mean what?"
"Nothing, nevermind. You wouldn't believe me anyways," Lei said.
"How would you know that we wouldn't believe you, if you don't tell us," Mu chimed in.
"I just do. I mean would you believe me if I told you that I was dating someone?"
Mu's eyes widened, but also went back to normal. "You and Yu Min broke up?" he asked.
Lei's eyes widened. "How did you know that I was dating Yu Min?"
"Sweetie, everyone tells me everything that you do, or well almost everything," Mu stated.
"So, you knew? Does mom know that he and I were dating?"
Mu nodded.
Aunt Jun was stunned. She couldn't believe that Lei was dating someone.
Lei noticed Aunt Jun. "Aunt Jun?"
Aunt Jun looked at her. "Huh? You aren't of age to date, are you?"
"Aunt Jun, I'm 18. I'm of age, plus the person I was dating made me feel safe and at home," Lei stated as she chuckled.
"When did you turn 18? I remember you were still a child. But anyways, do I know the person? Do I know the person's parents?"
"I turned 18 on the fifth month on the eighth day. I think you know his parents. His last name is Min."
"Ah, your father's best friend's kid," Aunt Jun said.
Lei nodded. "His name is Yu Min. I just hope he knows why I broke up with him and that he's doing something."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, but I can't say it or the person will know," Lei states.
Mu looked at her. "What do you mean by that?"
Lei hesitates, but then tells him. "I can hear the leader's voice. She can hear any conversation I have. So, I have to watch what I say out loud to people."
Mu's eyes widened. "How long have you been hearing the voice?"
"After we got into an argument about me continuing the mission, because I kept getting seriously injured. And after I broke my stamp that you and mother gave me…" she said softly.
"That was a few months ago. How often do you hear the voice?"
"Always after something big happens or something that's about to happen," Lei replied, "but not always though. So, I hear the voice every so often."
"Lei, why didn't you tell me or your mother about this?"
Lei went silent.
"Brother, you know how your daughter is. She doesn't want to let anyone know what's going on with her. You were like that until you met Yawen," Aunt Jun butted in.
Mu looked at Jun before he nodded.
"Aunt Jun, what brings you here?" Lei asked as she saw the opportunity to change the topic.
"I heard my niece wasn't eating or drinking anything," Aunt Jun stated.
Lei looked down, but then looked back up. "I'm eating and drinking now."
Aunt Jun looked at her as if she was about to fight her. "Good, so I don't need to give you your favorite dishes that I made."
Lei's eyes widened. "Um, yes you do. I haven't eaten lunch yet, so I would like to eat your food," she said as she looked offended.
Aunt Jun smiled as she clapped her hands.
As she clapped her hands, her maids came in with bamboo boxes.
Lei's and Mu's eyes widened.
"Jun, this is too much," Mu stated.
Lei looked at her father. "It's not too much. It just means that I have midnight snacks," Lei replied.
Aunt Jun looked at them, smiling. "See, it's not too much, Brother."
"You literally brought food that could feed the entire kingdom."
"So?"
"We have no way of keeping from going bad," Mu stated.
Jun looked at him. "You can have your servants and guards eat some of the food."
Mu looked at her as if he was about to hit her.
"Auntie, I think he was planning on doing that anyway, if I don't eat all of it," Lei chimed in.
Mu and Jun looked at her.
"Don't look at me like that. I just want to go and eat the food," Lei stated as she looked back at them.
"Then go and eat. I have something I need to speak to your father about anyways," Aunt Jun said.
Mu nodded.
"Ok. I'll go and eat then," Lei said.
"Wash up before you eat," Mu stated.
Lei nodded as she waved bye before she left.
Aunt Jun waited for Lei to get further away. "I got some information about Sun Huang."
"What information?" Mu asked.
Aunt Jun told him the information that she got from her people she has around.
It's just like what Mu had thought.
They headed to the dining hall where Lei had almost eaten all of the food that Aunt Jun had brought.
Mu and Aunt Jun looked at her.
"Lei, it's literally been almost five minutes, how can you have eaten almost all of the food?" Mu said.
Lei swallowed what she had in her mouth before she spoke. "Well, it's been a while since I haven't had Auntie's food."
"Yeah, I know, but you could've saved some for us. Does your mother know that her sister-in-law is here and has brought food?" Mu asked.
"I did tell her, but she said that she was busy with something. But I did save some for her though."
"You saved her some, but didn't save any for your father or aunt that brought you said food," Mu said.
Lei nodded. "I love Mother more," she said as she smiled and chuckled.
"I feel like that's a lie. You love me and your mother equally," Mu said.
"I could be lying, or I could be telling the truth. You wouldn't know the truth," Lei said as she smiled more. Lei, Xiao, was just happy that she was talking to her father, since her father is dead in real life. Xiao knew what was about to happen soon, but she couldn't tell anyone because she had already changed up the plot of the book so many times. She knew if she were to change the plot any more, she'd end up dead.
"Lei? LEI!" Mu yelled. He had been yelling her name for the past three minutes.
Lei zoned back in. "Huh? Yes?" Lei answered.
"Are you ok? You've been frowning for the past three minutes," Mu asked.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. I just thought of something that I didn't want to think about," Lei stated as she was lying, but also put some truth in it.
Mu looked concerned. "What did you think about that you didn't want to think about?"
Lei had to come up with a lie fast. "About the future and you dying from a battle."
Mu hugged her. "I won't die from a battle. Don't think about the future, especially that far down into the future."
Lei hugged back and nodded.
