After a while, Lei started to wake up. She was locked up in a cell. Lei went to move, but then realized that she had been tied up. She had heard someone coming and pretended to still be unconscious.
The footsteps were coming closer. The cell door opened. Something was put on the table that was in front of her. They walked over and slapped her to wake her up
Lei "woke up" and looked at the person. She went to go and talk, but it only came out muffled.
They had put cloth in her mouth so that she couldn't make any noise and alert anyone that she was there and was kidnapped.
The person let out a chuckle and stated, "girl, no one is going to hear you."
Lei looked at him. 'So, I'm either far in the woods or in an abandoned house in an abandoned village.' She thought to herself.
It was obvious where they had taken Lei to, but it is also the safest place to keep her at. As it had abandoned for five years and it also had been forgotten about.
The person grabbed the bowl of food for Lei, walked over, and started to feed her.
Lei wouldn't eat it as she thinks it's been poisoned, which it wasn't.
The person switched it out as he was on her side. He's the undercover spy from Dai Hui. "It's not poisoned. I switched it out when everyone wasn't looking," he whispered into her ear, "I'm on your side." He put something in her hand.
Lei's eyes widened. "Huh?"
"I'm one of Dai Hui's men. I've given Dai Hui a letter for him and the others to come and get you without alerting anyone," he said quietly. He unties her. "You better not run off or escape since I've untied you."
Lei nodded as she was starting to understand what he's doing. "I won't. I'll stay here and I'll stay quiet," she responded as she put the paper in her hanfu for her to read it later.
"Here, you can feed yourself," he said as he gave her the bowl.
Lei took it and started to eat the food. She looked at him as if she was wondering if he would get caught if he did this until the others came to get her.
The man saw her expression and understood what she was thinking. "Don't worry. I'll keep acting like the bad guy and tie you back up after you get done eating."
Lei nodded as she ate. She was thinking as she ate. Thinking about how her friends would save her, but also not to kill Dai Hui's man, unless it's part of the plan that Dai Hui has. As she was deep in thought, she had finished her food.
The man snapped to bring Lei back into reality and to tie her back up, but not as tight as she was before. "Lei, ready?" he asked.
Lei zoned back in and nodded as she put down the bowl. She got up and went over to the pole to where she was tied up to.
The man got up as well, grabbed the rope, and went to tie her to the pole. He tied it as tight as to where Lei could get out if things were to go south, which he would do for the time being.
"I wish we both get out of here safe," she mumbled, but loud enough for him to hear her.
"As do I, Lei, as do I," he stated as he grabbed the bowl and left.
A while later and at Feng's mansion, the person who sent the letter gave it to a guard and told him to give it to General Feng right away. The guard did so.
Once the guard got to where Yawen and Mu were, he knocked and said that they have a letter and it's important for them to read it now.
Mu told him he could enter.
The guard entered and handed them the letter and then left.
Yawen took the letter and opened it. She read it out loud, "Dear Mu and Yawen, we have your daughter. We want medicine that can help with a heart disease. Also, Lei's been poisoned, so she has about four days until the poison is everywhere in her body and it will be too late to cure her."
Once Yawen finished reading it, her and Mu's eyes were big.
"We have to get the medicine to save Lei," Mu said.
"Mu, we have to think this through. It could be a trap and that's what the person wants us to do," Yawen stated as she thought about it while Mu was talking.
"Right, but what if it's not? We should at least send someone to make sure that this isn't a prank," he responded.
As Yawen was about to respond to Mu, Yu Min knocked. "General, Second General? It's Yu Min. I know about Lei and the situation, one of Lei's friends sent me a message."
"Come in, Yu Min," Yawen stated.
Yu Min nodded and entered. As he entered, he bowed.
"So, what was the message you got from the friend of Lei's?" Mu asked.
"It said to tell Lei's parents about what's going on and to tell them not to worry as the friend has a guy hidden in the group and is making sure that Lei is well. He also switched the poisoned food to non-poison and had a cure put in, just in case…" Yu Min said as he also went to tell him that he and the friend and his people would go and save Lei.
Yawen and Mu were somewhat relieved to hear that Lei's friends already had a plan in case something like what's happening right now.
"Who is this friend?" Yawen asked as she was curious.
"He's a bandit leader who lives in the forest, but he's been on our side ever since Lei and him fought. His name is Dai Hui," Yu Min replied, "his men, him, and I will go tomorrow night to save Lei and get his man that's the spy."
"He's the one who helps the poor and sometimes helps the guards with the bad guys, isn't he, Mu?" Yawen asked Mu.
Mu nodded. "We've been wondering what his name was."
"Really? Well, there you go," Yu Min said, "I better get going then. Bye General and second General." He bowed and left.
"Yeah. Ok, bye, Yu Min. Be safe going home," Yawen said as she smiled.
Mu waved bye to him. "That's good that we don't have to worry about Lei since her friends are going to go and save her. I mean-"
"I understand what you mean, Mu," Yawen said as she chuckled.
"Good," Mu said as he smiled.
