ETHAN'S PERPECTIVE
"Mr. Gray, Mr. Gray!" shouted a police officer at the slouched figure of Ethan inside the detention cell. Ethan slowly stirred from his position on the floor, squinting as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. Once more, he found himself confined within a jail cell.
"You're getting out," the police officer said, while opening the cell door.
Ethan felt relieved, grabbed his jacket, and left. His head hurt from the hangover.
"Ethan, nephew!" a man in his 50s called.
"Uncle Ramon?" Ethan said, surprised. He had thought his dad bailed him out, but it was his uncle, his mom's brother.
When Ethan's dad left him for another woman during his childhood, Uncle Ramon stepped up as a fatherly figure.
Ramon shook his head and sighed,
"Ethan Gray, what's the latest? Is it Kate again?"
