As Luke sprinted down the second-floor corridor, an unpleasant stench assaulted his senses, prompting him to pinch his nose in disgust. The odor was reminiscent of a giant dung egg, making the situation even more dire. Squinting his eyes, he hastened his pace toward the bathroom, using his enhanced sense of smell to track the troll's foul presence.
The putrid smell lingered in the air, guiding Luke unerringly toward the girls' bathroom. Anxious thoughts raced through his mind as he ran, urging him to prevent any accidents. The bathroom wasn't too far, and Luke, fueled by determination, swiftly reached the door.
"Almost there," he muttered, slightly relieved to see the hideous troll, wielding a massive wooden stick, turning toward the bathroom entrance. As long as Hermione wasn't in immediate danger, there was hope.
The troll lumbered into the bathroom, and a familiar scream pierced the air—Hermione. Luke, now inside the bathroom, quickly raised his wand, ready to intervene. The spell he cast was aimed at the back of the troll's head, a tactic learned from his studies. However, the troll, drawn by Luke's voice, turned around, causing the spell to hit its eyes instead.
"Roar!!"
The pained troll unleashed a thunderous roar, swinging its massive wooden stick wildly. The bathroom's infrastructure couldn't withstand the onslaught, and compartments shattered one after another.
"Luke!"
Hermione's worried shout reached Luke as he approached. Unfortunately, the troll, now aware of their presence, raised its formidable weapon, targeting Hermione in the corner.
"Be careful!"
Luke, quick on his feet, cast a spell to suspend the stick in the air, preventing it from descending upon Hermione. He reached her side, grabbed her hand, and swiftly led her out of harm's way.
"Hang the golden hook upside down!"
The spell successfully immobilized the troll's weapon, leaving it frustrated. As Luke and Hermione escaped, the enraged troll, with its limited intellect, abandoned the impractical pursuit and smashed its raised hands futilely at the departing wizards.
The troll's immense strength was evident as its punch resounded like a gust of wind. Luke swiftly grabbed Hermione, narrowly avoiding a blow that created a crater in the stone floor. Determined, Luke attempted to use magic on the troll, but its resistant skin proved formidable.
"Attack its back!" Hermione urgently suggested, but Luke was already ahead. "I know, don't worry," he reassured her. Luke cleverly transfigured a piece of rubble into a wooden stake, then transformed a water pipe into a sharp blade.
As the troll charged, it stumbled over the stake. Luke swiftly maneuvered, protecting Hermione as the troll's head met the sharp blade, resulting in a gruesome outcome. Luke shielded Hermione's eyes from the sight, his resolve unbroken.
"Never mind," he calmly assured Hermione, who was visibly shaken. Luke, with his array of potent abilities, had chosen a strategy that wouldn't draw too much attention. Hermione, grateful and emotional, tightened her grip around his neck, her eyes reddened.
Luke, meeting her gaze, noticed the blush on her cheeks and the tears in her eyes. Hermione, overcome with fear during the troll encounter, found solace in Luke's reassuring presence. In a tender moment, she instructed him to close his eyes before surprising him with a fleeting kiss.
Luke, taken aback, touched his lips, realizing Hermione's bold move. She hid her face in his arms, fearing his reaction. Worried, she asked, "You... don't hate me, do you?" Luke, softly comforting her, replied, "It's okay," and held her close in a gentle princess hug.
But when she asked if he could come closer, Luke, caught off guard, humorously replied, "Cannot!" adding a light-hearted touch to the tense atmosphere.
