Chereads / The Lightning Dragon In Harry Potter / Chapter 45 - Punishments

Chapter 45 - Punishments

After the thrilling flying lesson concluded, the formidable Mrs. Hooch, wearing an expression that could turn a Hippogriff to stone, decided to deduct a staggering 20 points from Slytherin.

To add to the drama, Mrs. Hooch, in her unrelenting pursuit of justice, promptly informed Professor Snape about the altercation between two young wizards.

Hermione, her guilt evident in a whispered confession, turned to Luke, who had come to her aid. "Luke, this is all my fault! I'll go with you! I'll explain it to Professor Snape!"

Luke, shaking his head, gracefully declined her offer. He knew today was not the day for him to face the consequences, especially after Blaze's Mudblood curse. Meanwhile, Blaze was escorted to Madam Poppy Pomfrey by Mrs. Hooch.

Malfoy, ever the opportunist, chose to play the role of a neutral observer, not taking sides but relishing in the unfolding drama. When Blaze dared to taunt Luke, it became evident that he was about to become the unwitting star of an unfortunate spectacle.

"But..." Hermione struggled to find the right words, torn between feeling responsible for the chaos and gratitude that Luke had stepped in to protect her.

"Okay, don't worry," Luke reassured her, his hand gently stroking her brown, curly hair. "Professor Snape knows how to give out punishment to the right person."

Soon, under Hermione's worried gaze, Professor Snape arrived to lead the flight class. With a blank expression, he led Luke away to his small office.

.....

Inside Snape's office, tension hung in the air like a thick fog. Snape's eyes twitched as he examined the culprit who appeared strangely unfazed.

Snape, sneering, turned his piercing gaze toward Luke. "Geralt, where did you learn that curse?"

"I invented it, professor," Luke replied.

"I never knew you had such talents for the dark arts, Geralt," Snape said with a glare.

"You can't judge a book by its cover, professor," Luke retorted.

"Well, what is the reverse curse for it? Even Dumbledore is finding it difficult to remove it," Snape inquired.

"There is no reverse curse, professor. The curse will automatically disperse after a week," Luke lied.

"Very well, Geralt. You can go now," Snape conceded, understanding the hidden meaning in Luke's message.

"If that's all, professor, then can I go now?" Luke asked.

"Alright, Geralt, you can go now," Snape said.

"Remember, just a week, Geralt, just a week," Snape reminded as Luke headed out.

"Lily, if only I hadn't said it back then..."

Restless in the basement, Snape clutched old photo frames, haunted by regret.

If he had refrained from uttering that word, perhaps the whole episode with James Potter wouldn't have unfolded.

"I'll find the damn traitor..."

Snape muttered to himself, his fingers gently tracing the young woman in the photograph.

.....

When Luke returned to the restaurant unscathed, Hermione eagerly approached him.

"So, what punishment did Professor Snape give you?"

"We can share it together!"

"..."

Beside them, the concerned little witch awaited an answer, warming Luke's heart.

"No punishment."

Hermione's eyes widened in disbelief at Luke's response.

"Did we misjudge Professor Snape?"

Harry couldn't help questioning.

"Maybe Professor Snape is not so bad after all." Ronald said with disbelief.

After a brief respite in the restaurant, the group parted ways.

Luke and Hermione headed to the library together to tackle their notes.

He gladly accepted Hermione's assistance, considering the sheer volume of notes awaiting transcription.

Only when Mrs. Pins disrupted their nightly study session, closing the library, did Luke realize it was time to return to the quiet confines of the school.

"See you tomorrow."

"Goodbye, see you tomorrow!"

Waving farewell to Hermione, Luke hurried back to the Slytherin common room.

Tonight marked the return of his little frog, promising potential surprises.

The dormitory welcomed Luke with the sight of his frog peacefully asleep on the bed.

"Thanks for your hard work."

Placing the frog cub in its den, Luke noticed a small bottle on the bed.

The bottle held water.

"What's this?"

Curious, he inspected the bottle, and its contents became clear in his perspective.

[Gender-bender (500ml) --- a potion from a mysterious world.]

[Effect: Convert the male user who drank the spring water into a female, but it will only last for a period of time.]

[Usage: Just drink it directly, as a friendly reminder, one drop can last for twelve hours of transformation.]

"..." Luke.
