Chapter 10 - Asgard

Thor burped loudly while cleaning his mouth.

"60 Shawarmas God, were you starved for a year or something," James was shocked.

James had decided to order shawarmas at home instead of going out to eat with Thor. And he was glad that he had made such a decision.

"Speak for yourself, you ate 30 too," Thor complained while patting his stomach.

James had no chance of retorting back. He knew that increase in strength had proportionally increased his food intake, but still it was a surprise for him that he was able to eat so much food.

'What if my strength increases to Level 10, then would I roam like a hungry ghost swallowing anything within sight,' James shuddered internally and hoped that such thought would stay as a thought only.

"You live alone right," Thor suddenly asked.

"Yeah," James replied while cleaning the dining table.

"Then why do you have two bedrooms in your apartment," Thor said curiously.

'Why don't you ask the previous owner of the body,' James thought.

"Its a guest room dude. Isn't it obvious?," James said.

"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Thor asked.

"No,"

"Parents?" Thor asked again.

"I was an orphan, then got adopted by a lovely old couple who died two years back," James answered.

"Why don't you stop my interview now and get some sleep," James said in order to stop Thor's questions.

"I am not feeling sleepy," Thor let out a yawn.

"Same here, wanna watch some movie or any sitcom," James suggested.

"Sure, why not," Thor said in agreement.

Soon watching a thriller movie both fell asleep before they knew.

Next morning, James woke up early, due to the habit of his past life. He woke up Thor and after having a shower and breakfast, they decided to leave for Asgard.

"Lets go to an empty place with lack of people. Back when you went to Asgard you cause quite a commotion," James suggested.

Thor nodded and then James booked a cab to a nearby forest.

As they arrived and waiting for a few minutes for the cab to get out of sight, Thor shouted,

"Heimdall."

Both of them were enveloped by multi-coloured lights and then disappeared from the forest leaving behind a circular area filled with marks.

"This is so magical," James murmured as they appeared back in a circular shaped infrastructure, standing on a slightly raised podium.

Although James had seen the marvel movies, but to experience such a transportation was altogether a different matter.

"It is," Thor laughed at James's comment.

"James meet Heimdall, he's the guardian of Bifrost. Heimdall, James is my friend from the Midgard," Thor introduced.

Heimdall just looked at James and nodded his head while James too reciprocated the greeting.

'Bifrost was not destroyed, I guess,' James concluded after the observation.

"His Majesty is awaiting your presence," Heimdall said in a cold voice while looking at them.

"I know, I know," Thor replied looking guiltily at Heimdall like had done something wrong.

Thor along with James started walking on the Rainbow bridge in the direction of the huge palace of Asgard.

"Beautiful," A word escaped from James's mouth as he was walking on the Rainbow bridge while looking at the space filled with stars.

"So should I call you Prince Thor or something," James joked.

"Not at all, Thor is fine," Thor said while revolving his hammer at an insane speed.

"What are you doing?" James asked suspiciously having a bad premonition.

Thor just smiled and held my shoulder," Lets get their faster."

As he said that, with an incredible momentum both flew in the direction of Asgard.

Although James had the ability to fly, he would not able to do so with such an incredible speed, unless he increases the level of his ability, 'the Deva Path.

James eyes were filled with tears as they reached the Palace of Asgard. He had forcefully resisted the urge to scream when Thor took off with him at such a great speed.

"At least give me a warning," James said while holding his stomach, feeling a bit sick.

'Damn it, even after increasing my physical strength to level 3 , I am feeling sick. Just at what speed did this dude brought me here,' James frowned.

"I did warn you," Thor grinned and started walking towards the main door of the Palace while urging James to follow him.

After few seconds, the feeling of sickness disappeared and James followed Thor inside the Palace.

"This is my home The Royal Palace of Valaskjalf," Thor said proudly.

"Well aren't you filthy rich," James said with quite a bit of envy.

The Royal Palace of Valaskjalf was the home of the Asgardian Royal Family and housed Odin's vault. As Ragnarök occurred, the palace was destroyed by Surtur with the rest of Asgard.

Finally both arrived near Odin's chamber.

"Go inside," Thor said to James and urged the Asgardian Warriors to open the door.

"You are not coming?" James raised his eyebrow.

"No, father wants to talk to you only," Thor said with a sulky tone.

"Fine," James said a bit nervous and entered Odin's chamber.

The doors were closed by the guards as soon as he entered.

As James entered Odin's chamber, he observed the huge gold plated room. The room has an ancient hue to it and looked quite old but still that didn't sully it's beauty at all. Instead it added a great charm to it.

In the room sat an old man on a chair looking quite ordinary except for a black eye patch on one of his eyes, holding a book in his hand, looking quite engrossed in it.

Suddenly James's chakra began draining at a tremendous speed. It was almost emptied down by a quarter within a few seconds. Cold bead of sweats appeared on his face.

James was confused by such a sudden consumption. After a bit of scrutiny he found the reason for it.

The sensory ability of James which he had kept running all the times due to miniscule consumption of Chakra, had consumed a lot of chakra and was still consuming it at a great speed.

When he looked at the old man sitting on the chair, he saw a golden glow surrounding his body interfering his sensory ability and leading to such a huge consumption.

'This must be the Odin Force,' James concluded and without any further ado turned off his ability. If he hadn't turned it off, he may have suffered an internal injury.

"Good little trick you have there," An old voice sounded out, disturbing James thoughts.
