"Master, tell me what your next move is," Erios inquired as Duchess Bernice entered her room.
"That's none of your concern," the Duchess snapped.
"It is my concern, Master. You are my concern. My sole purpose is to ensure your safety. I am bound to you because you cried out to me in pain. How can it not be my concern?" Erios pressed.
Duchess Bernice let out a humourless laugh. "Concern? You think this is the first time time has reversed?"
Erios's brow furrowed. "This isn't the first time? What do you mean? I only know about this regression."
Duchess Bernice's voice hardened. "No, this isn't the first time. The first time was my death. Executed in front of all Ablia, pelted with stones, my mother laughing, and my husband… sleeping with Princess Vixara." Her words dripped with bitterness. "This isn't the first time I've returned. It's happened twice already."
Erios's eyes widened. "But my creator doesn't know about this."
