~~~~ (In Sawatari's pov)
Two years ago, when an 8 year old Gogo still had a mother and a father. And in their small little apartment in Ward 3 where they all shared one bed.
.
They layed on that one huge bed, both parents surrounding Gogo at each side, her mother brushing her hair as Gogo fell asleep, and the father just watching both of them. That moment for Gogo was full of warmth, for her it looked like illuminating a light orange tint around that moment and spreading throughout the room.
.
Her mother, Naoko, was a unique mother and a housewife. She was a quiet one, a woman of few words, and she was quite smart, too smart in fact. But despite her looks, her smiles were none like any other.
.
"Goodbye, honey! I'll probably come back late!" Her husband, Francis, informed his Naoko as he tied his shoes.
.
Gogo, who just woke up, walks to the kitchen table in front of the bed, rubbing her eyes as she watches them.
.
"You like some cheese?" Naoko reached out a bar of cheese.
.
"Yeah ofcourse, their my favorite! You would know that by now jeez!"
.
"Your my cheese." She spoke with a straight face, which slowly turned to cute and heavenly smile. She looked like an angel at that one moment.
.
"Oh my—YES ILL TRY TO COME HOME EARLY!" Francis quickly hugged her out of pure enjoyment from seeing her smile.
.
She had a weird and cheesy way of teaching lessons or telling how she loves you. Which Francis always falls for.
.
Gogo and Francis loved her a lot despite unique personality.
.
There was a time where Gogo was bullied for being a bit poor, which made Gogo scared of going to school for a while.
.
"Mommy… I don't want to go to school…"
.
"It's okay…" She pats her at her back as she laid down on her face at Naoko's lap.
.
"Really?" Gogo looked back at her.
.
Naoko acted as if she was thinking about it, by putting her index finger under her check as she looked up into the ceiling before responding with a smile on her face, "Really!"
"I'll wait for however long you want…"
.
"But why? Why won't you discipline me?" Gogo asked, teary eyed.
.
"Why should i? It's not like you did something wrong." Naoko instantly replied, genuinely wondering why.
.
Gogo starts crying, "M-mommy!!" she dives her face unto, Naoko's lap to cover her crying face.
.
"Aww…" She lifts Gogo's head up gently as she pats her back to bring her in for a hug.
.
"M-mommy! I-I-I love y-yo-u" Gogo could barely spoke straight from the constant hiccups and crying.
.
Naoko then hugs her baby girl right after hearing that.
.
The next day after Gogo watching her parents take care of her the whole night despite skipping school, she walks over to Naoko, "I want to go to school now."
.
"Im glad but won't you draw some negative attention?"
.
"Im ready for that now."
.
"Aww… What made you ready so suddenly?"
.
"I don't want to burden you or dad mom!"
.
"You don't burden us tho…"
.
"Your ruining the moment mom! But… seeing you do all this makes me want to get back up and take that kid down!"
.
Naoko chuckles, "Okay okay. I fully support you!"
.
"R-really?" Gogo gets nervously surprised.
.
"I was just joking ofcourse… theres always something you can do before choosing violence… you just have to think hard."
.
Gogo didn't really fully see the full picture of what Naoko was saying but she nodded anyways with a huge smile on her face.
.
An hour of getting ready for school and its time for Francis and Gogo to leave, but Naoko had one last thing to say to her, She walked to Gogo and bent down in front of her before saying with a gentle voice, "Gogo… parents watch their kids much closely than they realize. Im always watching you… and I will always love you."
.
Those words made Gogo teary eyed, with her vision covered in tears as she tries to hold it in.
.
"And now…--" Naoko got up, wiping her skirt before patting Gogo in the head as Francis and her walked away from the apartment door.
"--Goodbye and take care!" she exclaimed as she they waved goodbye to each other and Gogo, who was previously on the verge of tears barely keeping it in, doesn't even try to keep it in anymore and just bursts out crying as she walks farther and farther from her waving mother…
.
Francis, really loved his family. And he was the complete opposite of the two girls. He was expressive, talkative and loud. He made lots of mistakes but when it comes to doing something good for them no matter how difficult it seems.
.
He carried a passed out Naoko to the nearest hospital, which was blocks away from their home. Despite his heart burning and his vision blurring, he kept going…
.
An hour later, Naoko lays in the emergency room as both Gogo and Francis sits right next to her bed, and Me who just arrived, stands there behind Francis. Gogo on the verge of tears, while Francis had a serious look on his eyes, it was as if something clicked and snapped inside of him.
.
It was at that moment where I should have done something.
.
As this man was willing to do anything at this point, and a few days before this moment, Francis met a man named Harris.
